When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding, jockey M. Cahill stated his mount failed to respond to his riding when asked for an effort over the final 400m. He indicated he was not entirely satisfied with the horse’s action and felt it would be better suited to softer racing surfaces. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. A swab sample was taken.
