After being slightly slow to begin, the gelding was further hampered shortly after the start when steadied from heels. Held up rounding the home turn. Forced to steady and shift outwards near the 100m to avoid the heels of MISHANI VALENTINO (App. M. Wishart) which shifted in whilst being ridden along by its rider.

After being caught wide in the early stages, jockey S. Bogenhuber permitted her mount to stride forward to obtain a position outside the leader leaving the 800m. Neither jockey S. Bogenhuber nor trainer Mr. B. Currie, could offer any tangible explanation for the seemingly below market expectation performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
