Began awkwardly, bumped, losing significant ground. When asked re tactics, Rdr stated no specific instructs given other than to settle mare where comfortable. Rdr said after slow to begin, hampered shortly thereafter, settling rearward, electing to trail winner until near 500m. Rdr added hesitant to improve into race earlier, as at most recent start on 22/12/24, was inclined to lay in & proved difficult to ride, & did not want to commence a run very wide round h/turn-added mare may have resented t/tie. Instructs confirmed. Post race vet exam revealed no abs.
