The Sunshine Coast Turf Club (SCTC) Synthetic Track Upgrade Project is an approved government co-funded project totalling $8.91m and is a joint initiative of Racing Queensland, SCTC and the Queensland Government.
The project consisted of replacement of the existing cushion track with a new all-weather synthetic track surface, installation of new irrigation to the synthetic track, and installation of drainage and irrigation upgrades to the No.2 grass and plough track.

Project Update
The $8.9 million redevelopment of the Sunshine Coast Turf Club was completed in December 2021.
Stage one of the project featured the installation of a new all-weather Polytrack, which hosted its first meeting at Corbould Park in late November 2021. Stage two was completed in December 2021 and included:
- Irrigation (inside and outside) to the Polytrack and the Plough Track;
- The reinstatement of a temporary cross-over to the course proper was with a ‘ready to play’ grass surface;
- Drainage improvements to the Polytrack, No.2 Grass and Plough Track;
- The Plough Track was remediated with footing material from the Cushion Track inclusive of plinths;
- Extensions to the Polytrack land bridges at starting locations; and
- Installation of new plastic rail.
