Heathcote has booked Ron Stewart to partner Bidii Babe who has won five of her 16 starts. “She’s a quality mare but I don’t think she can beat Tony Gollan’s horse Tiyatrolani as she’ll be too quick for her,” Heathcote said. “On paper her runs don’t look as good as what they really were. “She won the Bright Shadow last winter but then had no luck when she was caught wide in the (Listed) Helen Coughlan and had no luck in the Tatt's Tiara.” Heathcote also is hopeful of a strong performance from Lauterbrunnen who steps up in distance in the Padua College Open Handicap (1640m). The seven-year-old has had two starts back this campaign with his latest a close fourth over 1200 metres to stablemate Hopfgarten at Doomben on October 14. “It was a good run last time but the programming hasn’t suited him,” Heathcote said. “He’s stepping up to 1600 metres from 1200 after three weeks which is not ideal. “But 1600 metres is his best distance and he’s been working well so I’m expecting a good run. “The biggest concern for him is whether there’s a pronounced leader’s bias at Doomben like last week.” Racing Queensland webnews November 3
