RACE TWO

MIGHTY MONTANA (6) has the wide gate to overcome but with limited early speed to his inside, he can look to get in the action early. Stripping fitter for 1 run back from a break, that was a tough ru when circling the field early from a 2nd line draw and working in the run. A 2YO winner, he can look to open his 3YO term.

FLIPPA PENNY (3) kicked through and looked to take them all the way at AP 2 starts back and after turning for home there wasn’t much in the tank when finishing mid-field behind HOT DOGMA. Last start she went back to find position and that ended her chances. In this field she can look to atone.

LIZ AU BETTY (1) looked to make the most of the good draw here 2 starts back and after leading throughout couldn’t see it out. Forget her last start in a stronger race on the grass at Warwick, she is a smart beginner that can look to make the most of the draw advantage.

NICKY MATTGREGOR (8) struggled at AP 2 starts back when finding position too far back in the pack. 3 starts back she was within 3m of VANTO HANOVER in a Gold Pot Final and last week settled in the 1 x 1 when 1m from SKYLARHAIN. With even luck in transit she has podium claims.

RACE THREE

SHERIFF JUJON (4) was a winner here 4 starts back when sent forward from gate 3 and eventually worked his way to the front and once in control dictated to take a 5m victory. Since that win he has met much stronger types than he lines up against here and on the triangle he will take some catching.

MISTER HART (5) has placed in 4 of his past 5 starts and 2 starts back looked to take them all the way at AP over the 2138m when grabbed right on the line in finishing a half-head 2nd. He started fav on the grass at Warwick on Sat when a 4m 3rd and with early speed can find a handy position.

DOOLITTLE DOOFY (2) was buried away on the pegs here 3 starts back and when seeing clear space was hitting the line nicely to take a 3m 3rd. Last start here over the 1780m when settling in the pocket trail he took the bronze behind OUR BUSCEMI. From the gate he will be thereabouts.

ARCHIECANO (3) started from the 2nd line here 2 starts back and was working home in good style and may have finished closer than the 5.5m margin with a cleaner passage. His run on Sat night behind DJANGO MACH was a tidy effort and from this gate can place.

RACE FOUR

FIRE ONE (7) started in red figures here 2 starts back over the 1780m and after settling well back from gate 5 made closing ground to go down by 2m. That was her 2nd consecutive 2nd and working in the run last start was too strong to score a comfortable 3m victory. Being the lone 2nd line runner helps her chances and she should be too smart for these.

INCITER (4) looked to take them all the way here 2 starts back from gate 2 and after running it at a steady tempo was grabbed by COME OUT AND PLAY. Last start he was sent forward from gate 5 and after working in the run was beaten 9m behind FIRE ONE. He will be chasing that mare again.

ELMAUR JOY (5) found the spot behind the leader in a mares qualifier last start but the strong tempo took its toll and she faded out. 3 starts back she was working home in the latter stages out wide when beaten 1.5m here on the triangle and 5 back was only beaten a head. She can feature here.

LYKA VERSION (3) will be further tightened now that she has started twice following a 6 week gap between runs. Off the 2nd line here last start she was sent forward and worked hard in the run when beaten 7m. From an improved gate she can get in the action early and has claims.

RACE FIVE

HEAVENS HINT (3) has 2 wins in her past 4 starts here at Redcliffe and finds suitable conditions once again. Settling in the running line from gate 4 last start she finished best to arrive for a half-head victory. There looks to be some tempo in this and with the right run in transit she can swoop late to score.

FLASHING GOOD TIME (1) was a winner here 4 starts back when finding the front from gate 2 over this trip and taking them all the way when winning at big odds. Her 3 starts since that win have been from wider gates that haven’t suited. Back to a good gate here she will look to hold the advantage.

SUMMER MONEY (4) was sent forward from gate 4 over the 1780m here 5 starts back and forced his way to the front and once in control scored a comfortable 7m victory. Last start over the 2040m he was again sent forward for an all the way win from this same alley. He can go forward and if able to find the pegs will take some stopping.

ITS TORQUE POWER (7) has had 3 starts since returning from a break and has started from the 2nd line in each of those. Last start at AP over the 1660m he was well held behind MY LADY LINDA. From the gate he can settle in a good spot and will be ready to issue a closing challenge when the gaps appear.

RACE SIX

ROCKWITH THEDEVIL (3) will find this an easier task than what he has met his past few starts. 3 starts back he went within a nose of victory and was unsuited off gate 7 at his next start won by EARL JUJON. Last start he worked in the run when cutting the breeze outside BET IM SPECIAL. This looks his chance.

SKYLARHAIN (5) has 2 wins at her past 4 starts and despite the wide gate here can look to get in the action early. A Marburg winner 4 starts back when leading throughout she followed that with a tidy 3rd to THE HARLEM HAMMER. Last week she did the hard work outside the leader and was too strong in scoring a good win and she is right in this.

WEASEL (7) will need his share of luck to see space in time from this gate, yet if able to find his way into space he can feature. 3 starts back he was a 1.5m 3rd when starting fav and followed that with a tough run when down the line behind SIR SEMPER FIDELIS. The economical trip will suit.

BETONTHEBAY (9) took on a 2nd division qualifier on Sat night and after being taken back from gate 5 to find the pegs took the short way home and grabbed 4th when beaten 10m behind TOP TRIO. With even luck in transit he is an exotic proposition.

RACE SEVEN

KETUT (1) was luckless here 4 starts back when dragged back through the pack and then 2 starts back at AP ran a nice race when 7m in arrears of GASMONKEY when hitting the line in good order. Last start He looked to take them all the way over the 1780m and from the gate he looks to get his chance in this.

LONG ROAD TO FAME (5) is in good touch and was a winner here 3 starts back when using the passing lane to finish over the top. 2 starts back he was hitting the line strongly after settling well back in the pack in a qualifier and then last start was only beaten a head. Finding position will be the key to his chances where he can go close.

ALTANA BLUE (7) was a winner here 4 starts back when starting from gate 6 and finishing best to land a tidy win. 2 starts back he was sent forward in the middle stages and working to the breeze was fighting hard when getting within a head of victory. With an economical trip he can taking the closing shot.

MY MASTERCRAFTSMAN (6) was taken back from gate 5 at AP last start to look for the pegs and was working home in the latter stages to get within 7m of the winner. 2 starts back he was snagged back from gate 6 in a band 5 event when 11m from the winner ALWAYS MY MATE. The gate does him no favours but with the right run he can feature.
