RACE ONE MONTANA EXPRESS (8) will be improved from his debut where he rolled forward from gate 4 to cut the breeze and fought on well to be within 5m of the winner when claiming 2nd. From this gate he can follow through to settle in a handy position and can open his account. FAKEROCKNROLL (9) returns from a long break to start his 3YO term. Placed twice and scoring a narrow win in his 6 starts as a 2YO, he has been given 2 trials to sharpen with the 2nd of those a fair effort despite being well beaten. With even luck he has some hope here. WEDDING NIGHT (2) has placed in 3 of her past 4 starts with 2 of those when beaten under 2m. She did some work in the run last start when fading off and gets the chance to go straight to the front here and dictate.. MAYORESS JUJON (5) is another returning from a break and did have 3 starts after turning 3YO early in the season. One of those was a Redcliffe victory when pressing forward to the front from gate 5 and gripping on for victory. SELECTIONS: MONTANA EXPRESS (8), FAKEROCKNROLL (9), WEDDING NIGHT (2), MAYORESS JUJON (5) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE TWO
INCITER (2) has placed his past 2 starts with the most recent of those a good effort at Marburg. Angled 3-wide with a lap to travel he was fighting hard to the line to be 3m from the winner ELZBOY. This is the best gate he has seen in some time and can see him roll forward to take control and score. MATT BELFORD (7) will need his share of luck from this gate as he looks to be buried away in the early stages. A good winner 4 starts back when returning from a 9 month break he only had 1 more start when finishing 3rd before going for another spell. 7m from RED CHARMER in a Gold Pot final when 2nd up, he just needs luck. FAMOUS SHOES (8) settled in the running line here 2 starts back over the 1780m trip and found the line nicely in his best run this preparation. With even luck from the gate he has podium claims. PONOVER (1) finished 3rd from the pocket trail here 4 starts back and has faced 2nd line draws at his following 3 starts. With a cosy trip he can fill the exotics. SELECTIONS: INCITER (2), MATT BELFORD (7), FAMOUS SHOES (8), PONOVER (1) SUGGESTED BET: INCITER / MATT BELFORD (2/7) quinella
RACE THREE
BUDDY BABCOCK (1) scored a win from the pocket trail her 2 starts back after starting from inside the 2nd line. That was a fair reward for placings in his previous 7 starts in succession. Forget he went around last start when making an error, he can look to dictate terms from the ace gate. LUCKY NED PEPPER (7) had been top3 at his previous 6 starts including a 9m victory at Marburg when working hard in the run prior to an AP run on Tues. Too far back on the wet track to issue a challenge he will be coiled and ready to strike here. BETTOR WATCH HIM (5) has started 3 times since arriving in Qld and returns from a freshen. Sprinting sharply 3 starts back to land a 3m victory his other 2 starts were in a Gold Pot series. If forward enough in condition he is a huge threat. TASCOTT LADY (8) was buried 3 back off the inside 2nd line gate here 2 starts back and may have been closer with a cleaner shot. She can get down to the pegs here to take the shortcuts. SELECTIONS: BUDDY BABCOCK (1), LUCKY NED PEPPER (7), BETTOR WATCH HIM (5), TASCOTT LADY (8) SUGGESTED BET: BUDDY BABCOCK (1) to win
RACE FOUR TELLELLA (6) has the wide gate to overcome but she looks to be the best horse in the race. A winner 2 starts back when leading all the way from gate 1 her next run when 3rd behind MAJOR GENERALJUJON was a sound effort. Returning from a freshen here she can look to work home over the top. LARA BAY (2) settled in the running line from a 2nd line alley here 2 start back and worked home in good order behind ITSMEGS. Last start she was too far back when the sprint went on when nothing from the rear made ground. Looking to light the lamps here can see her go close to taking this. TORQUE FEELS GOOD (7) sat in the pocket trail last start over the 2138m at AP and found the line well in some nice closing sections to be 6m from the winner ALWAYS A JEWEL. She will appreciate this class of race and can threaten.
SELECTIONS: TELLELLA (6), LARA BAY (2), TORQUE FEELS GOOD (7) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE FIVE
MONTCALM (2) is approaching 12 months without a win but he looks to find conditions to suit here. Last start he was unsuited from gate 6 when taken back and 2 starts back was against the tempo with a fast closing 800m set from the front. With good early speed he can look to take them all the way and reignite his career. LEXUS ON THE BEACH (6) has the tough gate to overcome but should take good benefit from his latest start when beaten a half-head on Sat night in a 2nd division band 5.That was a turn around in his fortunes after a run of outs. Building on that momentum he can feature here. RIVERLEIGH WILLIAM (1) settled in the running line last start and he was attacking the line strongly to be a 3m 2nd behind CIRCLE LINE. His run 2 starts back was a fair effort when 6m from CELTIC CRUZA and with the ace gate will get the perfect trip. SHEZABONNYGEM (3) ran home strongly after doing all the work in the run here 3 starts back and was only 2m from the winner RUATO BAY. She made an error 2 starts back in a tidy effort and has claims here. SELECTIONS: MONTCALM (2), LEXUS ON THE BEACH (6), RIVERLEIGH WILLIAM (1), SHEZABONNYGEM (3) SUGGESTED BET: MONTCALM (2) to win
RACE SIX VINTAGE DREAM (1) will strip fitter from 2 runs back from a break after a 2 start prep when last in that returned a 1st up win. Returning this time fro, gate 4 she did some early work over the 2138m trip behind PINUP BOY and last start was off the 2nd line. Back to the triangle from gate 1 she gets every chance. CHUMP CHOP (7) is racing in great touch and after 4 successive placings was rewarded with a maiden breaking win last start when guided into the space along the passing lane to score. He will enjoy the perfect trip again here and will be closing hard. FEELINGFORAMIRACLE (8) was a winner here 5 starts back when finishing best from a 2nd line gate to arrive for the win. Placed in all 4 runs since that win, he will be right in the action again here. JANIES GOT A GUN (5) was buried away at AP 2 starts back in a Marburg to Albion final and couldn’t work into the race. Back to Redcliffe last start she took them all the way from gate 3. She is 2 from 2 at the triangle.
SELECTIONS: VINTAGE DREAM (1), CHUMP CHOP (7), FEELINGFORAMIRACLE (8), JANIES GOT A GUN (5) SUGGESTED BET: VINTAGE DREAM (1) to win
RACE SEVEN
ARTIKULATE MISS (1) rolled forward from gate 5 here last start and eventually pushed her way to the front after 300m and rolling a steady tempo held on for a neck margin. That followed a tidy effort at AP when 6.5m from INVINCIBLE LOXTON. With the inside advantage she looks hard to stop. EASTBRO LUCKY (7) will strip fitter for her Qld debut last start in a mares qualifier when she was 1st up for 7 weeks. Off the 2nd line she never had a crack at them and with the return to a soft trip behind the speed in this, she can be an improver. CALCAVADO (10) is never far from the action and added another minor placing to his tally last start when best of the chasing pack behind the big winner GRINVIL. That made it a top 3 finish in 13 of his past 18 starts and he will be working home late again here. ELMAUR JOY (4) has good speed off the arm and can look to stretch the 1 out early to earn the front. A winner here 3 starts back she returns off a freshen and will improve off the run. SELECTIONS: ARTIKULATE MISS (1), EASTBRO LUCKY (7), CALCAVADO (10), ELMAUR JOY (4) SUGGESTED BET: ARTIKULATE MISS (1) to win
RACE EIGHT RUFFALO (1) started from inside the 2nd line last week and with the cosy trip made the most off the passing lane to score a narrow victory. That followed a tough run when cutting the breeze outside INNVITE ONLY. With the options from the gate he can take the closing shot to go back-to-back. LIFEINHEAVEN (2) was working in the run last start after rolling to the breeze from gate 3 and finishing 7m from the winner HE GETS IT. She can have an early shot for the front here and lighting the lamps will be gripping on in the stretch. DIABOLO STAR (3) is racing well at present and was hitting the line well after going back from gate 7 at AP and looking for luck. He hit the line nicely for the silver behind ARTFUL MAID 2 starts back and has claims again here. GREGS LEGACY (10) makes his Qld debut here for Jack Butler. After winning when 1st up on the grass at Orange back in January, he couldn’t recapture his form that had seen him go a stretch of 6 wins in 12 starts. A change of scenery might be what he is after and he stays under notice.
SELECTIONS: RUFFALO (1), LIFEINHEAVEN (2), DIABOLO STAR (3), GREGS LEGACY (10), SUGGESTED BET: Flexi trifecta 1-2-3-10
