Some of Queensland’s best Greyhounds will take to the Albion Park track tonight as the Brisbane Greyhound Racing Club hosts two heats of the Queensland Nationals sprint and a prelude of the Queensland Nationals Distance.
Jury, the Group 1 winner of the Winter Cup and winner of the Origin Series Sprint headlines the nominations in the sprint. He’s got box 2 in heat 2. His main rivals look to be Call Me Ugo in box 1 and Fabrique in box 6.
The first heat is a little more open. The veteran Bubble Guppy is a deserving favourite from box 1. He is still racing very well as was seen in his win in the best 8 on 19 July. His main rivals look to be Maurice Minor from box 6 and Shot Clock from box 4.
The top 4 from each heat will progress to the sprint final next week.
The Prelude of the Queensland National Distance is an interesting affair with Winter Chase winner Champagne Sally lining up against Ipswich Grand Prix winner Jalapeno and Origin Greyhound Series Distance winner Double Gee.
All runners in the prelude will progress to the distance final next week.
The winner of each final will represent QLD in the Nationals at Sandown in Victoria on Friday 24 August
