Tegan has been inspired by the work of the NJT and hopes that her participation in this important charity event will not only raise awareness of the great things the NJT do, but also raise all-important funds.
The National Jockeys Trust (NJT) is a public charitable trust established in 2004 for the purpose of providing financial support and other benefits for jockeys (including apprentice jockeys) and their families, especially where such needs arise through serious injury, illness or death of a jockey.
Since its inception, the NJT has provided $4.3 million of funding and support to 435 jockeys and their families. The cricket match is one of the core fundraising activities of the NJT and for the first time in seven years, the Jockeys team will have a representative from each State and the Northern Territory.
