RACE TWO
ESCALERA (10) should probably have a fence with 5 pickets, however 3 starts back he suffered a serious wheel issue that ended his race. The other 4 victories have been impressive and last start he claimed the Marburg Goldstrike when putting them away in fine style. He looks hard to stop. ZARAS DANCE (6) rolled forward to the breeze last start and was in for the fight when worrying GOLDDIGGER GIRL out of the victory, running a solid last 800m in scoring by a head. With 2 wins from her 3 AP appearances and a close 2nd behind the handy TUAPEKA LIGHT, she is right in this. SOULWRITER (3) makes her Qld debut for Chantal Turpin and has been kept fresh since her last appearance at Bankstown. With good speed off the arm she can get forward early which helps. BANGKOK BRAVADO (4) has been runner-up at his past 2 outings with the latest a game effort when beaten up the passing lane by MUCH BETTOR who had a little bit more zip. He will fight hard here. SELECTIONS: ESCALERA (10), ZARAS DANCE (6), SOULWRITER (3), BANGKOK BRAVADO (4) SUGGESTED BET: ESCALERA (10) to win
RACE THREE
MUSCULUS (5) made an error at his return that ended his chances after having trialled in good order. 2nd up he loomed up and looked to have the race in the bag until he was grabbed on the line by MAJESTIC SIMON. With the added fitness he looks to get his chance to cash-in here. NORAHS FLING (7) has placed in her past 3 starts with the latest a tidy effort when 8m from GARLAND GREENE. Finding the pocket trail after stepping cleanly from the 10m tape, she chased gamely. That followed successive 2nd placed runs at Marburg and with good manners ca feature. EL SWAVO (11) rolled forward to face the breeze last start under mobile conditions and was fighting when finishing mid-field and 8m from the winner. With even luck in transit he is in the mix. GHENT (12) stepped safely and was locked away on the pegs for a cheap trip when chasing them home to fill 4th spot. Still looking for a win this year, he can chime into the exotics once again. SELECTIONS: MUSCULUS (5), NORAHS FLING (7), EL SWAVO (11), GHENT (12) SUGGESTED BET: MUSCULUS (5) to win
RACE FOUR NEWPORT DREAMZ (5) finds his easiest assignment for some time where he will be looking to bounce back to some winning form. The effort was sound last time over his less preferred 2138 m trip behind TROJAN BANNER and the start prior was beaten by gate 7. This looks his chance. CAESARS ASTRUM (3) was working home wide off the track at Redcliff last start after beginning from barrier 5 over the sprint trip. Forget her run 2 back when making an error that ended her race before it started, with the right trip here she can look to be closing out to find the podium. DOMESTIC ART (1) has enough early speed to secure the right trail and from that position can look to fill the minors. Not suited his pats 2 starts from the tapes, he will enjoy the mobile conditions. OUR MEMPHIS MAC (8) was too strong here 4 starts back in taking victory over the mile and in his 3 starts since has met much stronger opponents. He will need some luck from this gate yet can place.
SELECTIONS: NEWPORT DREAMZ (5), CAESARS ASTRUM (3), DOMESTIC ART (1), OUR MEMPHIS MAC (8) SUGGESTED BET: NEWPORT DREAMZ (5) to win
RACE FIVE
LINCOLNS GIRL (3) was put out of the draw 3 starts back after making an error in the early stages which ended her day. Her effort next start was a tidy run and then last start she attacked the line hard when closing out in a 54.3 closing 800m. With early speed and options, she can bounce back. TIMELESS APPEAL (4) speared out from this same gate last week to light the lamps. After a steady opening half, she really pulled the trigger in the last 800m and was nabbed right on the line by CHERRYS THE BEST who had the sit on her. Finding the front, she will be gripping on again. MY ULTIMATE ROMEO (5) has been in the money at his past 6 in succession with the latest when fighting hard from the breeze and falling a head short. Placed in the Goldstrike final, he can podium. SEA HAWKE (6) started from gate 11 last start and when he was working into the race at the 350m struck trouble. Re-setting he really hit the line in good order and won’t be far away here. SELECTIONS: LINCOLNS GIRL (3), TIMELESS APPEAL (4), MY ULTIMATE ROMEO (5), SEA HAWKE (6) SUGGESTED BET: LINCOLNS GIRL (3) to win
RACE SIX MUCH BETTOR (11) was the beneficiary of arguably one of the drives of the season last start which saw him able to claim victory. Finding the pocket trail from gate 7 he was able to finish best along the passing lane to score. Not far from TROJAN BANNER 2 starts back, with even luck he can arrive. BLINGITTOTHEMAX (12) will strip fitter following his latest start when resuming from a break without the benefit of a trial. Finding the 1x1 trail he was hitting the line in good order when 3m from the winner LISA LINCOLN. A strong winner 3 runs back, with the right cart home he can feature. MAJOR CURRENCY (7) was having his 1st appearance for Ron Sallis last time out when locked away against the markers. His closing fractions were slick as he hit the line strongly and he has place claims here despite the gate. LAUGHING EMOJI (1) was resuming from a spell here last start when locked away on the pegs, the run had merit behind the airborne PINUP BOY. With the options from the gate, she is a huge threat.
SELECTIONS: MUCH BETTOR (11), BLINGITTOTHEMAX (12), MAJOR CURRENCY (7), LAUGHING EMOJI (1) SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-7-11-12
RACE SEVEN
LISA LINCOLN (3) will take benefit from her latest victory when resuming from a freshen she was able to press on to find the front and display a clean pair of plates in securing a career best win rate. After paying 27.3 for the opener, she still had enough change to get home in 27.2. With electric early moves she can dictate. PAY ME INTEREST (4) started from the 2nd line last start and finished mid-field behind the smart winner ASHKII. Taking on mares qualifiers at her previous 2 starts when off the 2nd line in each, she can look to capitalise on an improved gate and is in the mix here. IDEALAGAIN (8) was having just her 2nd start in over 12 months last time out when hitting the line in good order at Redcliffe when beaten 5m. With a cosy run in transit, she can probe for the gaps. MAGOOGAN (1) did his share of early work last time out and the effort took its toll as he wilted in the heat of the slick 2138m trip. With a soft trip on offer here, he can be coiled and ready to strike late. SELECTIONS: LISA LINCOLN (3), PAY ME INTEREST (4), IDEALAGAIN (8), MAGOOGAN (1) SUGGESTED BET: LISA LINCOLN (3) to win
