RACE TWO
EL SWAVO (2) found the line in good order at Redcliffe 2 starts back when 2m from the winner. Last start over the longer 2647m trip where his record is not great, he just had to do a little too much work mid-race. With good manners and back to the 2138m, he can give some cheek in this. GARLAND GREENE (9) started from the 20m here 2 starts back when sent to the breeze and working hard was in for the fight and within 1.5m of the winner. Forget his latest start when breaking gait in the run, if able to put it all together he will be throwing down a solid challenge. MUSCULUS (6) found the pocket trail here 2 starts back and finished best up the passing lane to take the prize. Doing some early work last start when only beaten a half-head, he will be right in the fight. DAY TOURER (4) was quickly away before releasing the front here last week over the longer trip and chasing home for the bronze behind RUNNING FREE. Fast off the tapes and back to the 2138m, he can be thereabouts at odds. SELECTIONS: EL SWAVO (2), GARLAND GREENE (9), MUSCULUS (6), DAY TOURER (4) SUGGESTED BET: EL SWAVO (2) each-way
RACE THREE
CARLOAD (3) makes his Qld debut for Jarrod Alchin and arrives a last start runner-up at Newcastle. Settling behind the leader from inside the 2nd line, he went within a half-neck of the win. That followed a tidy effort at Penrith where things didn’t go his way and with his best gate in some time will get his chance. INVINCIBLE LOXTON (5) switches barns with Daren Garrard taking over his preparation. Last start he didn’t have the cleanest passage when down the line behind COLT THIRTY ONE. His run was full of merit 2 back when wide throughout and getting into this race nicely can ask the questions. GOD SAKE (1) took the pocket trail from this gate last week and with the soft trip went within 2m of the winner in a strong mile. Out to the middle distance looks to suit and from the gate can arrive. FIOKI (7) receives no favours from the wide gate but he has been good in 2 runs since joining the Ryan Veivers barn. Hitting the line strongly last start from back in the pack, he is a place hope. SELECTIONS: CARLOAD (3), INVINCIBLE LOXTON (5), GOD SAKE (1), FIOKI (7) SUGGESTED BET: CARLOAD (3) to win
RACE FOUR GINGER MICKY (7) doesn’t have any favours from this gate but he should find this a few levels below his last start when taking on the NSW Breeders Challenge Final and finishing within 10m of the winner ROCKIN MARTY. Strong in the Semi of that series, he can overcome the gate in this. LITTLELIONELJAMES (9) has been racing well and been in the money at 5 of his past 6. Only a half-head away over the mile 4 starts back, he the made the most of conditions to take them all the way. Forget his latest run when striking trouble, with the right trip he can throw down a challenge. ALLY ROGAN (4) hasn’t really fired since arriving in Qld, however from the gate will get her chance to turn it around. A beaten fav last start, she found the line soundly and can be chiming in here. KWASII (1) pressed to the front from gate 3 here 2 starts back when 2nd up from a break. Leading them into the stretch, he was grabbed late, beaten 2m. From the ace he will be gripping on.
SELECTIONS: GINGER MICKY (7), LITTLELIONELJAMES (9), ALLY ROGAN (4), KWASII (1) SUGGESTED BET: GINGER MICKY (7) to win
RACE FIVE
With her ability matched by her wayward manners there is a risk with BETTERTHANDIAMONDS (11) yet she just needs to do things close to right to prove too classy here. Her run 2 starts back for 2nd was game and featuring in a stable change, has trialled enormously. Just needs her manners. IMA BEACH BABE (10) started from gate 5 last outing when hitting the line in good order to claim the prize after starting at big odds. Given a mid-season break, she was 2nd up here 2 starts back when showing good early speed and although the gate hurts here, but with the right cart home she can challenge.
FAVOURITEHIGHLIGHT (2) used the passing lane to chase home JIGGLE AND JIVE 2 starts back with that filly since claiming the G1 Triad Final. Forget her last start when striking trouble, from the gate she will be in the mix here. MISS LILY MAY (7) returned a nice effort last start when forced to snag back from gate 7 and then didn’t see space when needed to be within 2m of the winner. Moving 2 positions closer helps and she can be thereabouts. SELECTIONS: BETTERTHANDIAMONDS (11), IMA BEACH BABE (10), FAVOURITEHIGHLIGHT (2), MISS LILY MAY (7) SUGGESTED BET: BETTERTHANDIAMONDS (11) to win
RACE SIX GUNRNEEDABIGRBOAT (2) will be further tightened from his latest appearance when 3rd up from a break. From gate 4 he was stuck for position and forced to retreat before making a 3-wide move. The run over the 2138m was full of merit which followed a game 2nd up run. He gets his chance here. TOMMY UNDER FIRE (9) didn’t show any early hustle from the front-line last start and was soon buried back in the pack from gate 5. Finding the line strongly, he made good closing ground in some smart splits to grab the bronze. Only a half-neck away here 3 starts back, he can challenge. BELLA BALL TERROR (6) rolled forward from this same gate last start and was working in the run when 2m from the winner HAVANA MOON. He swooped to score here 2 starts back and is in the mix. COBBLER LANE (7) has been in super form since arriving in Qld and despite a tough alley can put himself in the fight. Tough from the breeze when nabbed late last start, he put together 3 on the bounce before that.
SELECTIONS: GUNRNEEDABIGRBOAT (2), TOMMY UNDER FIRE (9), BELLA BALL TERROR (6), COBBLER LANE (7) SUGGESTED BET: GUNRNEEDABIGRBOAT (2) to win
RACE SEVEN
THATS HOW WEROLL (5) was 3 back on the poles last start when right-lined at the top of the stretch, hitting the line untested as he was then behind a wall of horses. His run 3 back was a real eye-catcher when attacking the line strongly and despite a sticky alley here, look for him swooping late. SECRETAGENT TYCOON (2) was 3rd up from over 2 years on the sidelines last start when securing his 3rd win after 12 career starts. Striking rouble 1st up, the writing was on the wall after a nice run 2nd up when hitting a dead-end. Fitter and seeing the front line for the 1st time this prep will see him give this a shake. KEY LARGO (4) added another silver to the tally last start to make it 4 of his past 5 finishing as the runner-up. Sent to the front over the mile, he was crossed with a lap to go before fighting back to go under a neck. OUR UNCLE ALAN (1) tried to take them all the way last start over the mile paying a 27.4 opening split for the leading duties. Fighting hard he went within 2m of victory and will be fighting hard. SELECTIONS: THATS HOW WEROLL (5), SECRETAGENT TYCOON (2), KEY LARGO (4), OUR UNCLE ALAN (1) SUGGESTED BET: THATS HOW WEROLL (5) to win
RACE EIGHT ROCKS OR DIAMONDS (7) found the front from gate 2 last time out and looked to take them all the way. Setting a solid tempo, he was collared in the closing stages, only 3m from the winner. Beaten by a bad gate and locked away 2 starts back, he has a tough alley here but can swoop late. MISTER COLE (2) was the emergency for the G1 Final on Sat night and after not being required will take his pace here. Shooting for a hat-trick after successive Redcliffe wins, he has good early speed and is in the mix. DATALDO (1) eased back early from gate 4 last start and was sound to the line when not far from the winner MY ULTIMATE STAR. With the gate advantage he won’t be too far away.
ROLLONX (8) will need some factors in his favour here, yet if the 1 does happen to look for an all the way win, he will be coiled and looking for the lane. If he can fins it with momentum, he is a knock-out hope.
SELECTIONS: ROCKS OR DIAMONDS (7), MISTER COLE (2), DATALDO (1), ROLLONX (8) SUGGESTED BET: ROCKS OR DIAMONDS (7) each-way
RACE NINE GINA MACH (11) retreated from gate 7 last week over the 2138m and from back in the pack was always facing a task as the leader was able to get home in 27.4. Her run 2 starts back from gate 10 saw her loom up but was grabbed late after working. Back to the mile and some tempo suits here. TORQUE FEELS GOOD (2) found the pocket trail from this gate last time out when chasing home behind HAVANA MOON. Her run here 3 starts back was a tidy effort after working in the breeze over the 2138m and looking for the front here can look to dictate. JUSTA DALE (12) has been doing plenty wrong of late, however his last start was an improved effort when finishing just beyond mid-field in a stronger line-up than he faces here. Can bob-up with the right trip. GONE WAY BACK (1) was stuck looking for position her last time out after starting from gate 7. Buried away from this gate 2 starts back when charging home, she will be coiled and ready to strike.
SELECTIONS: GINA MACH (11), TORQUE FEELS GOOD (2), JUSTA DALE (12), GONE WAY BACK (1) SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-11-12
