RACE TWO
SWEET LOMBO (1) is a Sweet Lou gelding on debut for the astute Donny Smith barn. Out of the mare Lara June Lombo, he has been to the trials on to occasions, with a tidy hit-out here at his home track of Redcliffe followed with a nice 2nd to the already race-winning filly JASPER at his latest outing. The gate is ideal. GLITTER STRIP (5) will take his 1st look at the triangle after 5 outings at The Creek. A winner 3 starts back when finding the front from gate 3 and dictating, he wasn’t at his best at his next outing. His latest effort behind the very smart TALENT TO SPARE was a nice effort and he can challenge here. DYNAMC DAN (7) had the easy trip last start from gate 1 over the AP 1660m and chased home for the silver behind TALENT TO SPARE. A winner here on debut, he can feature despite a sticky gate. ALEX TEE (4) looked to be in all sorts of traffic and perhaps a place hope when making his debut here back on May 6. Finding open track, he exploded the last 100m to arrive for an unlikely victory. He is in the fight again. SELECTIONS: SWEET LOMBO (1), GLITTER STRIP (5), DYNAMC DAN (7), ALEX TEE (4) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE THREE
SIGNOR JUJON (8) is yet to cash in this season, finding it tough to land a winning blow, having placed in 5 of his 11 visits to the track. Starting in red figures 2 starts back, he was forced to roll the sleeves over the AP mile, holding on for the bronze. Fading under a tough run last start, he gets back to the triangle where his 2 career wins have been recorded and this looks his chance to cash-in. BLACKJEWEL (1) started from this gate 2 starts back when settling in the pocket trail, finishing 9m from the winner PATCHWORK JET. Angled to the pegs from gate 8 last start, she was locked away in the run and attacking the line hard to get within a head of the winner. She can take the closing shot. TRENTLEIGH (3) worked forward to have a dip for the lamp lighting duties last start but was forced to retreat, ending his chances. With the early speed, he can give cheek from the front in this. MAGHERA MAGGIE (7) was a winner here 9 starts back when proving too tough in the breeze. Placed in 6 of her 8 starts since that win, she will be probing for space to chime in again here.
SELECTIONS: SIGNOR JUJON (8), BLACKJEWEL (1), TRENTLEIGH (3), MAGHERA MAGGIE (7) SUGGESTED BET: SIGNOR JUJON (8) to win
RACE FOUR The 1st heat of the Young Drivers Championship will see the field size revert back to 10 for the 2 heats here at Redcliffe. Leaning toward ALLSTAR SEA (5) who has been to the track on 3 occasions since arriving in Qld, the latest over the AP 2138m trip. Settling at the rear of the field, he was chasing hard and doing his best work in the last 100m when finding open space. This is no harder than his recent outings and despite the tough gate, he can open this Qld account. CANNAN (1) took on the Marburg to Albion Series in his past 2 starts, taking them all the way in his heat victory when walking them the 1st 800m and holding on to score by 2m. In the Final, he was beaten by a 2nd line gate, but was still hitting the line in nice order to be mid-field. The gate is a big plus. TOO GOOD FOR YOU (9) took on a 2nd division qualifier last start from gate 7. Eased back to look for the pegs and the short-cuts, he worked home nicely to grab the bronze. With the right trail in the early stages, he can feature in this. IMA REGAL JET (7) was working towards a win after successive placings and capitalised when too strong for them at Marburg. Holding on for 3rd in the AP Final of that Series, he will be looking for space here.
SELECTIONS: ALLSTAR SEA (5), CANNAN (1), TOO GOOD FOR YOU (9), IMA REGAL JET (7) SUGGESTED BET: ALLSTAR SEA (5) to win
RACE FIVE RITCHIE BEE (3) found his race here 3 starts back and despite starting from the 2nd line, had too many answers, cruising home wide out to score. Snagged back last start over the 2040m, the return to the sprint trip is a big plus and with the ability to fire out, he looks tough to stop in this line-up. DOWNTOWN LUCCA (2) eased back in the early stages last start in a Trot Rods event and then found the line in good order to grab the silver behind DASHING HANNAH. Not suited at Marburg 2 starts back, he was best of the chasers behind TOANUI SPIRIT here 3 back and can challenge them here. TULHURST KATE (4) was sent to the post as fav last start at Marburg from the 2nd line when not securing the smoothest run in transit. With 3 wins and 3 2nds in 8 outings here on the triangle, she will be in the mix. ROBINMEGOOD (7) has placed at his past 3 starts, the latest when 5m from the winner when starting from gate 8 over this trip. He will need some luck at some stage but can be chiming in late.
SELECTIONS: RITCHIE BEE (3), DOWNTOWN LUCCA (2), TULHURST KATE (4), ROBINMEGOOD (7) SUGGESTED BET: RITCHIE BEE (3) to win
RACE SIX This is the 2nd heat of the Young Drivers Series with the 4YO mare ARK ME (3) having a string of factors in her favour in this assignment. Fading last start in a mares qualifier when working hard in the run, she was only 5m from CELTIC CRUZA the start prior. With gate speed and options, her Redcliffe record at 3 wins and 4 placings in 8 attempts is strong and she is the one to beat. TORQUE IS MY GIRL (4) settled in the running line from her 2nd line gate here last start when she couldn’t go with them in the closing stages. Using the passing lane to grab 3rd here 2 starts back after being buried in the run from inside the 2nd line, she can look to work home strongly here. COBBLER LANE (2) made some errors here 2 starts back, yet was still able to finish in 2nd. Last start at AP over the 2138m, he was forced to race tough when mid-field. From the gate he can feature. BARA JAYLA (1) didn’t have much go her way last start when easing back to find the pegs from gate 3 over the AP mile. From the gate she can be handy enough to the action to chime into the placings.
SELECTIONS: ARK ME (3), TORQUE IS MY GIRL (4), COBBLER LANE (2), BARA JAYLA (1) SUGGESTED BET: ARK ME (3) to win
RACE SEVEN IMPRESSIVE DIAMOND (1) kept them all wide from this gate last start over the 2040m and then was able to close it out in a strong last 800m to claim her 5th win on the triangle. Tough in the breeze here 3 starts back when 3rd, this is a step-up, but with the gate to capitalise, she will take catching. JUST JOSHIN (6) settled in the running line last start from gate 8, trying to make ground in the closing stages but was unable to reel them in with LETTERKENNY BOY delivering along the passing lane. Beaten a head behind SHERIFF JUJON in a qualifier 2 starts back, he can lay it down here. ARBIT MAJOR (7) was eased early from gate before being urged forward to face the breeze over the 2040m last start, fighting hard to the line when 2m from IMPRESSIVE DIAMOND. In the money his past 6 in succession, he can challenge when the gaps arrive. BURMACH (3) tried to take them all the way here 3 starts back when keeping a strong tempo throughout, holding on for the bronze. Runner-up his past 2 starts, he won’t be far away again.
SELECTIONS: IMPRESSIVE DIAMOND (1), JUST JOSHIN (6), ARBIT MAJOR (7), BURMACH (3) SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-3-6-7
RACE EIGHT CONDAFEW (5) lands his customary wide gate here on the triangle, but he finds the right type of contest. Eased from gate 6 over the AP 2138m last start, he was too far back and chasing against the tempo. That followed a late closing 4m margin behind KAPOW SHANNON, attacking the line strongly. He will need some luck, but with the right tempo he can arrive. HES NOVAK (1) has been buried in the run from inside 2nd line gates at 2 of his past 3 starts and then last time from gate 2 in a Band event at headquarters, couldn’t go with them when the sprint went on in the latter stages. With the cosy trip on offer, he can look to make the closing shot a winner. BEAU CISHLOM (8) has only been to Redcliffe on 2 occasions, returning a placing in 1 of those. Down the line behind GOVERNOR JUJON last time, with the right trail in transit, he won’t be far away. COURAGEOUS LEO (4) had a brief look last start from this gate before tucking in to receive running line cover and then holding on for the bronze. He might just have the speed to get across them here and will be gripping on.
SELECTIONS: CONDAFEW (5), HES NOVAK (1), BEAU CISHLOM (8), COURAGEOUS LEO (4) SUGGESTED BET: CONDAFEW (5) to win
