RACE TWO
SMITHSTARS LEXUS (2) takes his 1st spin around the Peninsula here and has the gate to be in the firing line. Chasing gamely when mid-field to IMASPORTSSTAR in a qualifier last start, it followed a tidy effort behind the in-form HANDSOME HERO. Only beaten a half-head behind SMOOTH SAILOR 4 runs back, he looks to get his chance. IFOUNDTHEBEACH (1) took on a 2nd division qualifier last start when easing from gate 4 to find position. With the tempo strong at the front, he worked home soundly despite being well beaten. Gate 6 and a slick tempo was his undoing the start prior and with the improved gate, has the options to capitalise. ARBIT MAJOR (7) started from inside the 2nd line over the middle distance at headquarters last start when closing in good order to just miss the money. With a cosy trip on offer, he will be probing. LIVING GRAND (4) has not raced here at Redcliffe for a while now but it is a track where his record is sound. Fading after a tough run in a qualifier last start when down the line behind TACTICAL RESPONSE, he can be here. SELECTIONS: SMITHSTARS LEXUS (2), IFOUNDTHEBEACH (1), ARBIT MAJOR (7), LIVING GRAND (4) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE THREE
This is a strong race for the grade and there are some in-form combatants ready to do battle. Finding form in recent outings MONTANA EXPRESS (6) might just appreciate the tempo that looks on offer in this. Swooping hard last start to sail on by to a 7m victory, it followed a close 2nd over the AP 2138m trip. He can arrive once again. OUR RIDGY DIDGE (3) broke through for a deserved win last start in the Marburg to Albion Final when pressing forward, taking control and then putting them to sword in claiming a PB 1.55 mile in scoring by 19m. Placed his previous 5 in succession, he will be pressing forward to throw it down. ALLSTAR SEA (4) has placed in 6 outings on this track from his 10 attempts. Only 5m from the winner MILLWOOD TILLY last start over the AP 2138m trip, he can look to land in the money once again. FAVOURITEHIGHLIGHT (5) was shooting for the hat-trick last start when sent to the post as fav from gate 10. Finishing 6m from the winner MIZZZ ADELE it had followed successive wins here at Redcliffe over this trip. The gate stings, but the tempo could suit.
SELECTIONS: MONTANA EXPRESS (6), OUR RIDGY DIDGE (3), ALLSTAR SEA (4), FAVOURITEHIGHLIGHT (5) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE FOUR SPRINGFIELD SPIRIT (4) did his share of early work to find position here 2 starts back when not that far from the winner LISA LINCOLN. Back to claiming company last start, he was strong to the line when 4m in arrears of the winner ULTIMATE AD. Positioning cheaply here can see him arrive for the prize. COMPLY OR DIE (3) has been runner-up at his past 2 in succession as he looks to end a win drought. Looking to take them all the way last start, he was in front for every step bar the closing one when beaten a neck. Only a half-head away the start prior, he can fire out and with options thereafter over the longer trip, gets his chance. IMA TOP TYCOON (8) finished best to claim victory over the AP mile 2 starts back when using the passing lane to arrive. Only 7m away last start after settling rearward, with a better than 50% top-3 strike-rate on this track can feature. WATTLEBANK FLYER (7) was charging home last start to get within a neck of the winner ULTIMATE AD. Not suited against stronger opponents in the breeze the start prior, he will be probing here. SELECTIONS: SPRINGFIELD SPIRIT (4), COMPLY OR DIE (3), IMA TOP TYCOON (8), WATTLEBANK FLYER (7) SUGGESTED BET: SPRINGFIELD SPIRIT (4) to win
RACE FIVE
UTELLA (1) is a lightly raced mare that has been meeting some seasoned campaigners as she looks to build her experience. Grabbed right on the wire at Marburg 2 starts back in a heat, she was then never suited when working in the Final at AP. Trialling nicely since that outing, she can capitalise on the gate here. MAJOR LUCKY (8) met a stronger line-up last time out when easing from gate 5 over the AP mile. Attacking the line in good order in the closing stages when wide, he was 5m from the passing lane winner OUR BALOU. Fitter for the run after being freshened leading into that, he can challenge. COUNTRY RUN (7) looked to take them all the way last start and led until it counted when beaten a head. Working home in good order here 3 starts back, he will be ready to take the runs when the present. MOLLYS SECRET (3) tackled a mares qualifier last start when striking trouble in the run that ended her chances. Closing strongly the start prior to grab 3rd after retreating from gate 7, she is in the mix.
SELECTIONS: UTELLA (1), MAJOR LUCKY (8), COUNTRY RUN (7), MOLLYS SECRET (3) SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-3-7-8
RACE SIX FAST IS BETTOR (8) was sent to the post as fav here on Tuesday from this same gate. Sent around them early to find the breeze, she couldn’t see it out when fading out behind SIXPENNY RED. Charging home the start prior when runner-up to GHOST GUM, she can atone for the last start here.
MAKINMEFEELGOOD (2) is on the short back-up from Wednesday night. Finding the front before the white flag was raised at the 400m, he was disappointing. Working hard outside the leader 2 runs back, he was in for the fight and from this gate gets every chance to atone for the last start. CANNAN (9) features in a stable switch and will line up for Lachie Manzelmann for the 1st time. Not that far from the winner TOO GOOD FOR YOU last start, he can work home strongly to feature. TICK OF THE CLOCK (3) was a Marburg winner 2 starts back when finishing best to claim the prize. Forced to grind it out in the breeze last start, if he can limit the early burn, he has claims.
SELECTIONS: FAST IS BETTOR (8), MAKINMEFEELGOOD (2), CANNAN (9), TICK OF THE CLOCK (3) SUGGESTED BET: FAST IS BETTOR (8) to win
RACE SEVEN
Although still a Queensland maiden after racing here for six months, SHEZ GOT BLING (4) might just have found the conditions to turn that around. 2nd at Marburg 3 starts back when holding the pocket trail from inside the 2nd line, her next 2 have been far from flattering. Hustling off the arm, she might just be able to sneak away with it. WHERES TASCOTT (8) settled back in the pack from a 2nd line gate last time out over the AP mile and was working home strongly to grab the silver when 5m in arrears of the winner. Forget her previous outing, her run 4 back was a smart effort and saved for one shot can swoop hard to challenge. DOWNTOWN LUCCA (9) is on the back-up from Wed night here where he worked hard in the run after being sent around to the breeze from this same gate early on. He can chime in here. SHESFEELINPRECIOUS (7) was locked away from inside the 2nd line last start when searching for the gaps. A similar scenario could unfold here, but with the easy trip she can again be probing for space.
SELECTIONS: SHEZ GOT BLING (4), WHERES TASCOTT (8), DOWNTOWN LUCCA (9), SHESFEELINPRECIOUS (7) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE EIGHT JANSSON (10) can utilise his experience om this track to look to claim an advantage over a couple of his foes in this who have yet to race on The Triangle. Working wide off the track last start from his 20m tape, he could only finish mid-field behind DOUG. Around the mark without winning of late, he can capitalise here. SOH TWISTED (1) was safely away as per usual last start before taking he trail and fighting to the line when 3rd and beaten 6m behind DOUG. Using the passing lane for the same result the start prior, she can step cleanly and with the benefit of being near the front on the tight track can challenge. ROCKET NOVA (8) was making a closing dive at them last start when only a half-neck in arrears of the winner CLOVER LOU. Striking trouble the start prior, if he can handle the track, he is in the mix. DOUG (11) has 2 wins and a minor in his 4 starts since arriving in Qld, the latest a strong effort from the 40m tape when working home to arrive for a smart win. He has the 50m tape at his 1st look at the track which is a big ask.
SELECTIONS: JANSSON (10), SOH TWISTED (1), ROCKET NOVA (8), DOUG (11) SUGGESTED BET: JANSSON (10) to win
