The Queensland Government is encouraging stakeholders across the three codes of racing to have their say, as part of its commitment to undertake a comprehensive review of the industry.
Minister for Racing Tim Mander this month launched a discussion paper, which seeks the views of all Queenslanders who simply love racing, to help inform the Queensland Racing Review.
“A strong racing industry is integral to a strong Queensland, both economically and socially,” Minister Mander said.
“We must ensure the industry continues to grow and flourish for decades to come.
“This discussion paper is designed to help guide the road forward to achieve this objective and inform the most comprehensive racing review in the state’s history.
“I urge everybody to play an active role in this process and have your say.”
Former Australian Turf Club Chairman and experienced businessman, Matthew McGrath, has been appointed as Chair of the Queensland Racing Review.
There are a number of ways to have your say as part of this initial consultation:
- Provide a written submission. Submissions can address any topic related to the racing industry. The questions posed in the discussion paper are only a guide to start the conversation.
Written submissions must be received by midnight Sunday, March 30 for this initial consultation. The online submission portal will also close at midnight, March 30.
