RACE TWO
JOHNNY WHITE (8) earns his ticket back to the main draw after being an ODM runner his past 2 starts. Eased back from gate 7 last start, he could not work into it late, while the start prior he was charging home in slick closing splits when 3m in arrears. If the 1 can get him the lane with momentum, he can zip on by. HANDSOME HERO (7) has been racing in good style in recent outings and was strong to the line in recent outings. Sent forward form gate 6 to occupy the breeze last start, he was toiling hard in holding on for the bronze. He might have to do I the tough way again here but will be up to it. RUBIES FOR TASH (10) was locked away against the poles last start from inside the 2nd line when making some late ground behind DOUBLEDELIGHTBRIGADE. With a booming finish, she can be chiming in late here. MIDNIGHT MAN (1) returns from a spell after his last appearance when leading all bar the stride that mattered with SECRETAGENT TYCOON landing the decision by a lip. With a sound trial to open the pipes, he will be gripping on. SELECTIONS: JOHNNY WHITE (8), HANDSOME HERO (7), RUBIES FOR TASH (10), MIDNIGHT MAN (1) SUGGESTED BET: JOHNNY WHITE (8) to win
RACE THREE
CAUTIVAR (4) was sent forward from a wide gate last start over the mile and rolling the sleeves was in for the fight. With a 1.54.1 mile, he was in for the fight when finishing 5m from the swooping winner STOMPEM. Only beaten a head by HANDSOME HERO the start prior, he can dictate. COURAGEOUS SAINT (8) will be reliant on a rub of the green with some factors also in his favour from this gate. Snagging back to the pegs from gate 6 and looking for some short-cuts last start behind SMART AS CAMM BE, he did the tough way 2 starts back. He can challenge if the gaps open. COMMODORE JUJON (10) pressed ahead to find the breeze last start over this trip and was grinding hard when only 2m from the winner. Swooping late to claim a qualifier 2 starts back, he can feature. SAM IS PERFECTION (5) started from inside the 2nd line last start and was soon locked away and needing luck. Finishing mid-field to STOMPEM, he was luckless the start prior and looms as a podium player in this.
SELECTIONS: CAUTIVAR (4), COURAGEOUS SAINT (8), COMMODORE JUJON (10), SAM IS PERFECTION (5) SUGGESTED BET: CAUTIVAR (4) to win
RACE FOUR SMART AS CAMM BE (6) has another tough alley to overcome here after facing gate 7 last week. Eased to find position on that occasion, she was working home nicely but could not fend off the late charge of STOMPEM. Runner-up from gate 7 over the mile 3 starts back, the 2138m trip is in her favour and she can bounce back. SMITHSTARS LEXUS (8) cashed-in to claim a qualifying win here last week when eased from gate 5 to find position before leading the 3-wide train and having too much coal in the fire to arrive for the prize. A close 3rd along the passing lane the start prior, he can be looking to the inside from this alley to challenge. BUMPER (1) was snagged back to find position last start from gate 5 and was too far back when they settled. Still making strong metres in the closing stages when 7m away, he can settle closer here and will be looking for a closing play. TACTICAL RESPONSE (11) is proving a source of great frustration with his barrier manners proving costly. When he gets the start right, he is a force that possesses a powerful finishing burst. If safely away, watch him charging home.
SELECTIONS: SMART AS CAMM BE (6), SMITHSTARS LEXUS (8), BUMPER (1), TACTICAL RESPONSE (11) SUGGESTED BET: SMART AS CAMM BE (6) to win
RACE FIVE This looks a front-line flush with speed and there could be a mad charge to take control. IDEAL WORLD (3) has been a narrow runner-up at each of his past 2 starts, the latest when grabbed in the last stride by COMMODORE JUJON over this trip. A half-head away the start prior over the 2138m, he looks the leerie and will be looking to light the final lamp. PARAVANI (2) is equally adept at flying out of the machine and can fire the early shot in this. Fresh since his last appearance when3m from HEART OF COOPER after tucking into the pocket trail from this same gate, he will be coiled and ready to take the closing shot when the lane presents. EARL JUJON (1) looks set to be shuffled back from the ace gate, however the pegs look a good place to be in this contest. Trying to take them all the way last week over the 2138m, he can get a quitter trip this week and snipe late. B MAC C (9) made the most of an improved alley last start yet still was required to roll the sleeves. Proving too strong, he had enough on the line for a narrow victory. He can be thereabouts again.
SELECTIONS: IDEAL WORLD (3), PARAVANI (2), EARL JUJON (1), B MAC C (9) SUGGESTED BET: IDEAL WORLD (3) to win
RACE SIX
HAVING THE FAITH (1) had his night ended not long after the start last time out when a wheel issue caused his early exit. From gate 6 here 3 starts back he was game in defeat after working hard outside the leader and winner- the in-form NURBURGRING. With the speed to keep them wide, he does have the back-up options and looks the one to beat. TYPHOON STRIDE (9) retreated from gate 7 last start to find position before working home in good order wide off the track to be 5m in arrears of the winner SMITHSTARS LEXUS. Holding on for 3rd behind KINGOFTHESTARS over the 2138m 2 starts back, he will be looking to power home late here. KINGOFTHESTARS (3) was shooting for a hat-trick of victories last start when claiming 2nd in the veterans event behind JONAH JONES. Too smart in front at Redcliffe the start prior, he can chime in. BLUE MOON RISING (8) will be sweating on the 1 looking for an all he way effort and if that is the scenario that plays out, his stocks will rise. Effective when saved for a cold shot, he scored a smart win at Redcliffe on Wed night and with a soft trip here can be ready to strike. SELECTIONS: HAVING THE FAITH (1), TYPHOON STRIDE (9), KINGOFTHESTARS (3), BLUE MOON RISING (8) SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-3-8-9
RACE SEVEN
MACH TORQUE (2) may have finally found the conditions to claim an overdue mares qualifier. Nothing has seemed to be in her favour whenever she has tackled one of these events, the latest when repelled for the breeze and forced to retreat. With early speed, she can take control and looks to get every chance for the breakthrough. RNR WINDEMERE (6) started from a wide gate here 2 starts back when 2nd up from a break and was strong to the line when 4m from subsequent winner FEEL LIKE DANCIN. Down the line behind JONAH JONES last start, the return to mares only company looks ideal here and she can challenge. DAPPER BESSIE (7) faces the car park again with her past 2 runs full of merit from wide gates. Hitting the line with power last start for 3rd behind VENUS JUJON, it followed a similarly slick finish from a long way back. Look for her late again. LOOKING FABULOUS (5) did plenty of work in getting forward to race outside the leader last start and was fighting hard when 8m in arrears of the winner. Grabbed late when leading 2 back, she is in the mix.
SELECTIONS: MACH TORQUE (2), RNR WINDEMERE (6), DAPPER BESSIE (7), LOOKING FABULOUS (5) SUGGESTED BET: MACH TORQUE (2) to win
RACE EIGHT This is an even line-up of mares where a case could be made nearly every runner. Leaning to TUAPEKA LIGHT (8) who although unable to make ground along the inside last start, might just appreciate the step up to the middle-distance here. A passing lane 4th when only beaten a neck away 2 starts back, if the tempo is right, she can arrive. SAINT KILDA BEACH (2) should benefit from an improved gate and added fitness after 2 runs back from a break. Eased from gate 6 here 2 starts back, her closing splits were sound behind JERADAS DELIGHT and then last week she was hamstrung by gate 7. With early hustle, she can put herself in a position to challenge. JERADAS DELIGHT (4) was content to do it the tough way last time out when facing the breeze over this trip and lasting for the prize as 4 of them hit the line together. In top form here in Qld, she will be in the thick of it again. WITH THE BAND (5) has been in the money at her past 5 in succession, the latest when best of the chasers behind FEEL LIKE DANCIN after being locked away from inside the 2nd line. Pressing on here she will make her presence felt.
SELECTIONS: TUAPEKA LIGHT (8), SAINT KILDA BEACH (2), JERADAS DELIGHT (4), WITH THE BAND (5) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE NINE COLT THIRTY ONE (5) continued his dominance last start when sent forward from gate 7 to get outside the leader over the mile. With a steady tempo there were bullets to fire in the stretch and he looked to have plenty left when 1.5m in advance of his nearest rival. He might be forced into a death-seat showdown again, but he can reign supreme. FAME ASSURED (2) displayed good improvement in her 2nd up outing when hitting the line in some tidy sectionals behind TURN IT UP last time out. Returning when only 6.5m from COLT THIRTY ONE after being buried away on the pegs, the move to the front line in the small field looks ideal for her to grab the silver. LILAC FLASH (6) started from inside the 2nd line last start and angled off the poles was attacking the line strongly in the closing stages to grab the bronze behind TURN IT UP. With the ability to reel of slick closing splits, the smaller field can see him pinch a minor.
SELECTIONS: COLT THIRTY ONE (5), FAME ASSURED (2), LILAC FLASH (6) SUGGESTED BET: COLT THIRTY ONE (5)
RACE TEN MAJOR FERNCO (9) is a quality 3YO marching through the grades and was never in danger in claiming his heat of this series when finishing hard in a strong last 800m split. Sweeping a Gold Pot Series prior, he was able to do it all himself out in front, the heat equally as impressive as the final. He should be too classy. IDEAL TIGER (3) will appreciate an improved alley here after working home strongly in his heat when retreating early from outside the front line. Closing out in nice order behind MAJOR FERNCO, he was only a neck from subsequent winner ROLL WITH ROCKY here 3 starts back and looks best of the rest. IFOUNDTHEBEACH (10) is on the back-up from Wed night at Redcliffe where he was taking on the Final of a Series. Shooting for a hat-trick of wins in that event, he can be charging home here. JEWEL OF PEAK (1) will have he early options here and with the likelihood of a soft run against the markers will be probing for gaps. Grabbed in her heat when 2nd to IFOUNDTHEBEACH, she can chime in when the space arrives.
SELECTIONS: MAJOR FERNCO (9), IDEAL TIGER (3), IFOUNDTHEBEACH (10), JEWEL OF PEAK (1) SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 9 / 1-3-7-10
RACE ELEVEN Used to waiting around for the last race, it could be a worthwhile wait this week for OUR OVERANOVA (7) who might just have found the conditions to land his 50th career win at The Creek. Working home strongly for 3rd last start behind GEE UP NEDDY, he was beaten an eyelash in a blanket finish 2 starts back under mobile conditions. The small field works to his advantage. GEE UP NEDDY (5) has been in nice touch of late and chimed in for the bronze here last week when closing in good order to be 5m from the winner MAJESTIC SIMON. Too strong over this trip from a 10m tape 2 starts back, he has the 20m this time, but is racing well enough to overcome the impost. GODOFTHUNDER (1) angled to the pegs here 2 starts back over this trip from the stand and was hitting the line soundly when 9m in arrears of GEE UP NEDDY. Grinding a tough mobile mile last start when 2m away, he will be in the mix again. MIRACLE RISING (2) is a good beginner and can either be in front and look to release or can dart straight in for the easy trip. Approaching 12 months without a victory, he will not be far away.
SELECTIONS: OUR OVERANOVA (7), GEE UP NEDDY (5), GODOFTHUNDER (1), MIRACLE RISING (2) SUGGESTED BET: OUR OVERANOVA (7) to win
