Co-trainer Peter Hulbert is not letting the disappointment of missing out on a Magic Millions Guineas spot be a distraction when Mistress Of Doom runs at Doomben on Wednesday.
Mistress Of Doom will be ridden by stable apprentice Adin Thompson in the QTIS Three-Year-Old Benchmark 70 Handicap over 1200 metres.
Hulbert, who trains in partnership with son Will, has a big opinion of the Domesday filly who was sold for $50,000 at the Magic Millions sales.
Mistress of Doom is a three-quarter sister to the Ron Quinton-trained Daysee Doom, who has won more than $1.2 million in prizemoney with nine wins from 27 starts including a win in the Group 1 Coolmore Stakes at Rosehill in 2018.
“She’s a very promising filly but has been slow to mature which has held her back a bit,” Hulbert said.
“It’s disappointing not to make the Magic Millions Guineas but it’s not the end of the world.
“There’s always the next Magic Millions day and we’ve got the Winter Carnival here first.”
