Racing Queensland confirms that there has been a change made to the distance of Race 3 at the Aquis Park Gold Coast Turf Club race meeting today, March 13.
The race will now be run over 1000 metres as opposed to its programmed 900 metres, with the start now taking place on the course proper.
The change has been necessary as a part of the 900-metre chute has been affected by the deluge of rain received on Thursday and is deemed unsuitable/unsafe to race on.
The connections of any horse(s) choosing to scratch their horse(s) as a consequence of the change will not incur any fees for doing so.
The remainder of the race meeting will take place without change and at this stage the track is rated a Heavy 9.
Trainers and jockeys with commitments in Race 3 have been advised of the change by way of SMS messaging.
