RACE TWO
TANCALTRA LIS (2) will be further tightened from her latest start when 2nd up from a break to kick off her 3YO term. Tackling the AP mile when resuming, she was beaten by the 2nd line and too far back and then last start here at The Triangle struck trouble. From the gate, she can look to make her own luck. OCTOBER RACKETEER (3) will take good benefit from his latest outing when returning from a spell and having his first run for the new stable. Eased away from the pegs after starting from inside the 2nd line, he was chasing hard as HURRIKANE HOUR took the prize. He can challenge here 2nd up. ROLLING RIVER (1) was a winner here 3 starts back when asked to do it the tough way outside the leader and he was able to grind out the win. 1st up from a spell last start, he has the options from this alley to feature. ROYAL PRINCESS (7) has been the winner twice and runner-up twice in her 7 outings here at the Peninsula and comes up with the gate to find the podium once again. Freshened since her last appearance, the economical run suits. SELECTIONS: TANCALTRA LIS (2), OCTOBER RACKETEER (3), ROLLING RIVER (1), ROYAL PRINCESS (7) SUGGESTED BET: TANCALTRA LIS (2) to win
RACE THREE After meeting stronger credentialed performers since returning from a break, the return to maiden company was the perfect elixir for DOCTA FEELGOOD (1) last start. Sent straight to the front from gate 2, he was never in danger when cruising home to a 9m victory. From the gate he looks to have the prescription for victory. OCEAN LANE (2) has hit the board in all 3 outings since arriving in Qld, the latest when making a closing challenge to get within a half-head of LIVING GRAND over the AP mile. Making the most of favourable conditions to lead all the way here 2 starts back, she can be in the mix once again. AMARONE (3) was forced to retreat last start to secure position before hitting the line strongly over the closing stages to grab the silver. Fitter again after 2 runs back from a break, limiting the early burn to secure position will be key to her chances. THATS FUNNY (7) struck trouble last start that hindered her hopes when finishing in the 2nd half of the pack as FORTYFIVE ROCK landed the prize. With the economical trip, she can feature. SELECTIONS: DOCTA FEELGOOD (1), OCEAN LANE (2), AMARONE (3), THATS FUNNY (7) SUGGESTED BET: DOCTA FEELGOOD (1) to win
RACE FOUR IMA BIRUBI BOY (1) has made the most of his opportunities at his past 2 starts to lead throughout from favourable gates. He comes up trumps again with the marble here and can hustle off the Hilux to take control in this. In a race where there looks limited pressure, he can dictate, and the pegs look the ponies to play. KAY NORA SHANNON (7) did some early work last start over the AP mile before cover arrived in the Marburg to Albion Final as she could only manage a mid-field finish. Only beaten a neck in the heats of that series she was strong to the line late here 3 starts back and can be ready to strike when the gaps arrive. MISS CATALINA (8) started from inside the 2nd line here 2 runs back and punching the pegs all the way, arrived in the last strides to score. Darting down to the pegs looks a play here and she can be probing. WHATELEY (2) was 2nd up from a break here last start when sent to the post as fav from gate 6. The effort was sound under the circumstances and he has place hopes if limiting the early burn. SELECTIONS: IMA BIRUBI BOY (1), KAY NORA SHANNON (7), MISS CATALINA (8), WHATELEY (2) SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1 / 2-7-8
RACE FIVE NESTERS HILL (1) released the speed last start over the AP mile after some early heat and front he pocket trail was making a closing play up the passing lane to get within a half-neck of the winner. Gate 4 did him no favours at Marburg the start prior and with the opportunity to light the lamps here, will be trying to fight them off. ARTISTIC SAINT (2) landed a breakthrough win last start after securing the perfect trip in behind the speed after starting from inside the 2nd line. Angled to the outside, he had the answers to claim an easy 6m victory. From the good alley, he can be close to the action and at start 100 will be looking to raise the bat in style. HEADWIN (6) returns from a freshen and has returned to previous trainer Allan Godwin. A smart winner here 2 starts back when leading throughout, he can get forward to press for a podium spot. ROBINMEGOOD (8) eased from gate 5 to find position last start and was winding up wide off the track when 7m in arrears of the passing lane winner. Pressing through early from this gate, he is in the mix.
SELECTIONS: NESTERS HILL (1), ARTISTIC SAINT (2), HEADWIN (6), ROBINMEGOOD (8) SUGGESTED BET: NESTERS HILL (1) to win
RACE SIX
RISKY BUZINESS (7) will be needing a rub of the green at some point here and hoping for some factors in his favour. If the right scenario is in his favour the closing play can be his to take. Not much went right last start and gate 6 was his undoing the start prior. He can be ready to snipe late in a tricky contest. FORTYFIVE ROCK (5) chalked up a half-century of starts here at Redcliffe in fine style last start when cruising home to claim an 8m victory. Spearing off the arm to challenge, he was able to secure the pocket trail which proved the winning move. Game from the breeze when 3rd here 2 starts back, he is right in the fight once again. SHEZ GOT BLING (9) was pinned down on the poles here last start from inside the 2nd line and made a closing play for the bronze behind IMA BIRUBI BOY. Runner-up the start prior, she will not be far away. TICK OF THE CLOCK (2) tried to take them all the way here 2 starts back but was grabbed in the last strides by subsequent winner GROOVY MISS ANNIE. He will be close to the action to feature again. SELECTIONS: RISKY BUZINESS (7), FORTYFIVE ROCK (5), SHEZ GOT BLING (9), TICK OF THE CLOCK (2) SUGGESTED BET: RISKY BUZINESS (7)
RACE SEVEN This race shapes as an intriguing contest with a few of these not boasting the best record at the middle-distance but most can offer strong Redcliffe figures. HOT EMBERS (1) is the least experienced here on The Triangle but can look to make the most of his gate. Leading throughout from gate 2 over this trip 3 starts back in a smart closing 800m after a steady opening half, he looks to get his chance. ALE ALE KAI (9) looks well graded in this contest despite the tricky 2nd line alley. Tackling a strong Band 5 event last start, she was down the line behind the slick MISS RUBY SUNSHINE but could have been closer with better luck. Strong late here 3 starts back, she is a six-time winner at the track and has the best record in the field over the middle trip. Look for her challenging late. SUGARKANE (7) was facing a task last start in a mares qualifier from the 2nd line when angled to the pegs o hop for some luck and short-cuts. With the likelihood of a perfect trip, she can feature. SUKI DAYO (6) has no favours from the outside paint, but her record here at the track is super and comes into this searching for a Triangle threepeat after successive 1780m wins. A strong tempo will aid her chances. SELECTIONS: HOT EMBERS (1), ALE ALE KAI (9), SUGARKANE (7), SUKI DAYO (6) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE EIGHT MAKINMEFEELGOOD (4) pressed ahead from this gate last start to have a look for the front but repelled was forced to roll the sleeves and do the work. Grinding away, he held on for the bronze. Wide for a long way the start prior, he can get forward here and look to out-stay them. TODAYS HERO (8) started from inside the 2nd line last time out and was soon buried in the run and searching for openings. The start prior he did not have the cleanest passage when grabbing the bronze behind COBBLER LANE after starting from the six-hole. With even luck he can challenge. LAVAZZA (6) was 2nd up in Qld last time out in the Marburg to Albion Final when sent 3-wide at the bell but unable to see it out. Strong to the line in the heat when 1st up, she can be thereabouts here. RAINBOW STYLING (1) has been kept fresh since his last appearance when in the 2nd half of the pack behind JINGLES BROMAC. At his best when out in front, he has the gate to suit and will be gripping on. SELECTIONS: MAKINMEFEELGOOD (4), TODAYS HERO (8), LAVAZZA (6), RAINBOW STYLING (1) SUGGESTED BET: MAKINMEFEELGOOD (4) to win
RACE NINE KETUT (1) should be close to wound up now after 4 runs back from a spell and he looks to have found the right conditions for his pattern. He could not get going late last start as ARTHUR LOWE took the prize and he loves to charge up the pegs off an easy trip. Those conditions look favourable for him to strike. GOTTA MOMENT (6) has been racing at headquarters recently and heads back here to Redcliffe for the first time this season. Fading over the 2138m trip last start after working hard in the run, he was only grabbed in the closing strides the start prior at the mile by CHANTREY. The gate hurts but he can still challenge. OUR LITTLE DIGGER (9) started fav last start and held the pocket trail from inside the 2nd line. With the winner stealing a break at the top of the stretch, he chased hard for the silver and will be trying to offer late again here. SPRINGFIELD SPIRIT (2) was stuck for position here 2 starts back when retreating before making a closing play to be thereabouts. Locked away last start, this might just be the race to roll the dice and look to do it in front. SELECTIONS: KETUT (1), GOTTA MOMENT (6), OUR LITTLE DIGGER (9), SPRINGFIELD SPIRIT (2) SUGGESTED BET:
