RACE TWO
ELLE JAY (1) has developed a smart record here at the track winning 4 of 6 and has scored a preliminary win by landing gate 1. 3rd via the passing lane last start after being locked away, she has the speed to hold them wide and from the front looks the one they must get past. A GOOD IDEAL (3) was having his 1st look at the track her on Monday when capitalising on gate 1 to lead them all the way. Keeping the speed on throughout, it followed a tidy effort at Albion Park after being buried in the run. From the gate he can look to challenge. TICK OF THE CLOCK (8) was wide trying to find a spot before easing to get the running line and then making a run from the pack to be 7m from the winner A GOOD IDEAL. He can join in again in this. LIVING FREE (6) used plenty of petrol trying to get across to the front here last start and that left him vulnerable as he faded. With a softer trip behind the speed here, he can chime in. SELECTIONS: ELLE JAY (1), A GOOD IDEAL (3), TICK OF THE CLOCK (8), LIVING FREE (6) SUGGESTED BET: ELLE JAY (1) to win
RACE THREE THATS FUNNY (3) has proven costly, going under as the fav at her past 2 starts as she looks to end a winless streak approaching 18 months. Wide off the track from the 2nd line here last time out, she could only get within 7m of the winner. A move to the front line is in her favour and she can atone. CLARES FOOL (1) tried to get across from gate 3 here last start but was repelled and forced to retreat to find position and from back in the pack could not go with them. Gunned down in front the start prior, he has the gate and will be burrowing through early and trying to fight them off. SHESFEELINPRECIOUS (6) has placed in 4 of her past 5 starts as she searches for an elusive win. Working home in nice order here last time out when 3m from the winner, she will be searching for the gaps here. GUTS (8) has been hitting some nice areas recently and was shooting for a hat-trick of victories last start when claiming the bronze off the 2nd line. With the right cart home, he can find the podium. SELECTIONS: THATS FUNNY (3), CLARES FOOL (1), SHESFEELINPRECIOUS (6), GUTS (8) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE FOUR The consolation of the Goldstrike presents an even line-up where QUICK STEP (1) can look to capitalise on the inside lane. 5m from the winner after racing in the trail in her heat, it followed a smart 3rd behind JINGLES BROMAC in a sharp AP mile. With clean manners she can take her chance. FLAME LADY (4) was setting the speed over the 1660m at AP 2 starts back and was only collared in the closing stages. Strong to the line in her heat of this series, she did not have the smoothest passage early and was then wide off the track. With better luck she can make a challenge. MISS CATALINA (3) stepped cleanly to get across and find the pocket trail in her heat and was chasing hard behind COPPICE. Charging home along the pegs the start prior, she can chime in here. BIG GEM MONTANA (6) was pinned down on the pegs last start and searching for a way clear. The start prior he met a strong line-up and if he can settle handy, he can feature in this. SELECTIONS: QUICK STEP (1), FLAME LADY (4), MISS CATALINA (3), BIG GEM MONTANA (6) SUGGESTED BET: QUICK STEP (1) to win
RACE FIVE BEEJAYS DELIGHT (1) eased from gate 4 last start and from back in the pack could not eat into the margin and finished down the line. Luckless the start prior when probing for a run after being buried in transit, he can look to make the most of the improved alley and gets his chance to breakthrough. BARKWAY ARNOLD (7) is a newcomer to Qld, joining the Taleah McMullen stable. Last seen when runner-up at Canberra after a tough run-in transit, he arrives with 10 wins and plenty of experience on smaller track so should have no issue with the Marburg surface to make his challenge 1st up. BRILLIANT ART (2) was a Redcliffe winner 3 starts back when pressing forward from gate 4 and facing the breeze then packed too many guns in scoring a strong win. Runner-up in both runs since, she looms large in this. TODAYS HERO (6) has his 1t looks at Marburg and lands the gate to get the economical trip and look for the gaps. Runner-up 2 starts back, he can feature if the space arrives. SELECTIONS: BEEJAYS DELIGHT (1), BARKWAY ARNOLD (7), BRILLIANT ART (2), TODAYS HERO (6) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE SIX ARTISTIC SAINT (1) tackled the longer 2138m trip last start from gate 1 and after the easy trip in behind the speed was able to make a closing play to get within a half-head of the winner RECIPE FOR DREAMING. Back to the sprint trip from this gate, he can look to dictate. GOALKICKER (6) has a tidy record here at the track with 2 wins and 2 minors in 5 appearances. Buried in the run and never really finding the space to challenge last start, she will be locked down here and probing for the gaps to make a closing challenge. KAY NORA SHANNON (5) was sent forward over the AP 2138m last start and asked to race first over and despite the tough trip, she only wilted late. That followed successive wins and she is in the mix. ALL GOOD WALLY (2) was sent forward from the five-hole here on Monday and asked to roll the sleeves but faded after the tough trip. A winner the start prior, the gate aids his chances. SELECTIONS: ARTISTIC SAINT (1), GOALKICKER (6), KAY NORA SHANNON (5), ALL GOOD WALLY (2) SUGGESTED BET: ARTISTIC SAINT (1) to win
RACE SEVEN ITS MR CLOONEY (5) will take good benefit from his 1st run in Qld and also his 1st outing since January when he was able to land victory in his heat here on Monday. Wide off the track in making a closing challenge, he had too much closing power to score a strong win. From the front tape, he can take advantage. COPPICE (3) was having his 1t look at the tapes under race conditions in the heat when he was able to step cleanly and work forward to get outside the leader. Grinding out a tough win from the breeze, it had followed successive placings and with a clean step again, gets his chance to challenge. KING OF TRUMPS (6) was 1st up in Qld in the heats of this series and after negotiating the early traffic to find the 1x1 trail was able to finish over the top of them for a smart win. He can make a solid play. GLENEAGLE WARRIOR (9) will be shooting for a hat-trick of wins after a strong Redcliffe win was followed with a dominant heat win when running a closing 800m split not heard of here at Marburg. Back to the 20m impost for this final makes it tricky. SELECTIONS: ITS MR CLOONEY (5), COPPICE (3), KING OF TRUMPS (6), GLENEAGLE WARRIOR (9) SUGGESTED BET: ITS MR CLOONEY (5) to win
RACE EIGHT IDEAL TIGER (8) returns from a let-up following his last start outing when only 6m from the winner NEWPORT DREAMZ after starting from inside the 2nd line. Tough in the breeze the start prior behind the in-form TEARAWAY DIAMOND, his record here is smart and despite a tough gate he can arrive. WHERES TASCOTT (1) has faced wide gates at her past 2 starts that have not aided her cause, the latest when buried away after easing from gate 5 over the Redcliffe sprint trip. Strong in the breeze the start prior from gate 7 when sent forward to do the work, she has the gate to make a challenge. MAKINMEFEELGOOD (7) has hit some form and lines up here after wins at 3 of his past 4 starts. A winner here last time out when wide for the last lap and strong to the line, he can feature again. FEEL THE THRILL (3) pressed ahead from gate 5 last start at headquarters and after doing some work was in for the fight when holding 2nd behind FAIRIESDELIGHT. From this gate he is in the mix. SELECTIONS: IDEAL TIGER (8), WHERES TASCOTT (1), MAKINMEFEELGOOD (7), FEEL THE THRILL (3) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE NINE
GOLIGHTLY (7) was sent to the post as fav last start from the 2nd line over the AP mile and made the most of the early heat to power home over the top of them. Only a half-neck away the start prior behind TEARAWAY DIAMOND when resuming from a freshen, class can beat the map here. MISS MIA (1) eased from gate 6 last start over the AP mile and from back in the pack was hitting the line in good order when 5m in arrears of the winner. 2 from 3 here at Marburg, she was able to win from the widest gate 5 runs back and from this gate she can look to throw down a challenge. GOSLING IN FLIGHT (4) was having his 1st look at the tapes in a Goldstrike heat here last start when making a mess of the start. Luckless the start prior, back to the mobile suits. HEEZ PERFECT (6) will find this a little more comfortable after tackling a veteran’s race last time out when fading behind CLINTAL DO. Likely to be pinned down, he will be searching for gaps to offer. SELECTIONS: GOLIGHTLY (7), MISS MIA (1), GOSLING IN FLIGHT (4), HEEZ PERFECT (6) SUGGESTED BET:
