RACE TWO
SHES MISS DEVINE (1) should appreciate a return to this grade of contest after tackling the Group 1 Triad Final last start. Trying to eat into the deficit when wide off the track as TALENT TO SPARE was in control, the task was too great. Taking them all the way here 3 starts back, she looks hard to stop. MISTER COLE (9) started in red figures here 2 starts back from gate 1. A little rough after release, he had to take the trail and from there was in the 2nd half at the finish. Sent around in a Trot Rods scamper last start, he held on for a narrow victory in a blanket finish. He can be working into this. MY ULTIMATE LOUIE (5) resumes from a spell here and has been to the trials twice in readiness for the return. Last seen back in January when beaten a pimple over the AP mile, he is in the mix fresh. HEY MISTER TAYLOR (2) makes his 1st appearance in Qld, joining the stables of Ron Sallis. Last seen at Young when down the line from a wide gate, he has opened the pipes with a tidy trial and as a new acquisition for leviathan owners Summit Bloodstock, stays under notice. SELECTIONS: SHES MISS DEVINE (1), MISTER COLE (9), MY ULTIMATE LOUIE (5), HEY MISTER TAYLOR (2) SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1 / 2-5-7-9
RACE THREE JOVIAL JULIE (4) was a gritty runner-up from the breeze here 4 starts back when 2m in arrears of the winner. Not ideally suited in a Trot Rods at her next start, she cashed-in 2 runs back to lead all the way in smart time over the sprint trip. She may need to work here but can look to capitalise. MY CHINA DOLL (8) tackled the 3YO Fillies Triad last start when chasing but unable to go with them over the middle-distance as TALENT TO SPARE scored. A winner here 2 runs back when pressing to the front and then leading throughout to a half-head victory, she can be looking to press through to challenge. DOOLITTLE DOOZZIE (1) found the wide gate over the longer 2200 at Marburg last start out of reach when down the line. Not much has gone her way this prep but with the improved gate lands an opportunity for a sharper return. BLISSFULDAY (9) was down the line last start in a stronger race at headquarters over the 2138m behind VIENNA BOY. Gunned down in front here 2 starts back when 3rd, he can chime in here. SELECTIONS: JOVIAL JULIE (4), MY CHINA DOLL (8), DOOLITTLE DOOZZIE (1), BLISSFULDAY (9) SUGGESTED BET: JOVIAL JULIE (4) to win
RACE FOUR SPECIALANDIKNOWIT (1) was a winner here 3 starts back when finding the pocket trail from gate 2 and then able to make the closing shot a winning one. He found the line in nice order from a long way back at his next start before grabbing 3rd last time from gate 6. He looks to get every chance. LIVING GRAND (6) has the wide gate to overcome but he has shown previously that he can handle some work in his races. Wide off the track last start when midfield, he dug in for the fight here 2 runs back when sent to race first-over from the five-hole and was 1m from the winner in grabbing the silver. He will throw it down again. BETTING BARON (9) has hit a purple patch and will line up searching to make it 4 in succession. Landing the threepeat last start from this same gate when finishing over the top, this is within reach. RAINBOW JET (3) is on the back-up from Friday at The Creek where he needed to overcome a 2nd line gate. His lone win came here at The Triangle at his last run in his 2YO season last September and he has podium claims in this. SELECTIONS: SPECIALANDIKNOWIT (1), LIVING GRAND (6), BETTING BARON (9), RAINBOW JET (3) SUGGESTED BET: SPECIALANDIKNOWIT (1) to win
RACE FIVE DON HESTON (3) found conditions to suit last start from the 2nd line over this trip, making a strong challenge to cruise by and claim a 3m victory. Grabbed in the closing stages in a much stronger event over the AP mile when setting the speed, he can build off the win to go back-to-back. WOODLANDS WONDER (4) eased from gate 5 last start and was back in the pack when trying to make a closing challenge, finishing with the bronze when 5m from the winner FIRE ME UP. Trying to chime in over the latter stages the start prior when 6m from LANCELOT BROMAC, he can challenge here. MAJOR LUCKY (5) could not go with them in the closing stages last start as KWASII took the prize. Setting the speed 2 runs back as subsequent winner VANISH HANONVER took the win, he can join in. AROONA (1) did some early work from gate 3 last time out before receiving the 1x1 trail and then finishing just in behind the placings when 6m from FIRE ME UP. The gate gives him podium claims. SELECTIONS: DON HESTON (3), WOODLANDS WONDER (4), MAJOR LUCKY (5), AROONA (1) SUGGESTED BET: DON HESTON (3) to win
RACE SIX HIGH ON MONTANA (8) started from the ace last time out and lacking the early hustle to keep them wide had to settle for the pocket trail. Trying to work off, he grabbed the silver as FEARLESS FAITH cruised home to take the win. Better suited away from the poles, he can look to power over the top. FIRE ME UP (3) was building towards a win after placing in 3 of 4 Redcliffe starts prior to her last appearance. Franking that assessment, she was able to roll the sleeves to graft out a tough win last time out after being sent around from the 2nd line soon after the start. From the gate she gets a chance to repeat, with just the 2040m posing a query. TEE JAY CEE (5) has placed at his past 3 starts, the past 2 when starting as the fav. Not much went his way last start when searching for a way clear as BETTING BARON arrived and the gate stings here. RITCHIE BEE (2) has placed in 3 of his past 4 starts, the latest when working home wide off the track from the 2nd line to be 4m in arrears. Closing strongly the start prior when a head away, the gate aids his chances. SELECTIONS: HIGH ON MONTANA (8), FIRE ME UP (3), TEE JAY CEE (5), RITCHIE BEE (2) SUGGESTED BET: HIGH ON MONTANA (8) to win
RACE SEVEN MIDNIGHT QUEEN (4) started from inside the 2nd line last start and was soon shuffled back and needing some luck to make a play. Holding on for the bronze as THEMIDNIGHTRAMBLER skipped clear to make it 3 on the bounce, she has a win and 7 minors in 11 outings here at the peninsula. With even luck, she might just have found her race. CHAMPAGNE REACTOR (7) will be needing a slice of luck from this gate but with an economical trip she can be looking for a way clear to challenge. Runner-up here 2 starts back when closing out in good order from the 2nd line, she will be probing for a way clear here. WRITEABOUTCHELSEA (3) started from the 2nd line last time out when trying to make ground over the concluding stages as MAGHERA MAGGIE took the win.3rd to ELLE JAY at Marburg 2 starts back, she can feature here. JAMAICAN RESORT (5) has no favours from the wide gate as he looks to land a drought breaking win. Claiming the bronze last start from the 2nd line, he can look to fill a minor again here. SELECTIONS: MIDNIGHT QUEEN (4), CHAMPAGNE REACTOR (7), WRITEABOUTCHELSEA (3), JAMAICAN RESORT (5) SUGGESTED BET: MIDNIGHT QUEEN (4) to win
RACE EIGHT FAMOUS SHOES (8) pressed forward to take control here last start from gate 3 over the 2040m and was able to get away with a steady tempo. Unable to repel the closing challenge of DOWNTOWN LUCCA when taking 2nd, the return to the sprint trip suits and slicing through to secure position can go one better here. GLENCOE REIGN (1) found them out of reach last start from gate 2 as he wilted after doing some marginal work early as THEMIDNIGHTRAMBLER took control. Better suited if able to light the lamps, he looks to get those conditions here and held on for 3rd when in front in the run 3 starts back. He will be gripping on. CARIBBEAN ROCKET (5) found the 1x1 trail from the three-hole last start and with the cover was then able to finish over the top to claim the prize, running away with an 8m margin. With even luck he can be thereabouts again. ABBEY DIADEMA (6) was a winner at big odds here 3 starts back when powering home over the top to take the prize. Only a head away at her next appearance, she was a beaten fav last start and the gate stings here. SELECTIONS: FAMOUS SHOES (8), GLENCOE REIGN (1), CARIBBEAN ROCKET (5), ABBEY DIADEMA (6) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE NINE
JUSTA LITTLE BIT (3) had his chances dashed in the G1 Triad Final last start when landing outside the 2nd line and forced to chase in vain as MANILA PLAYBOY dictated from the front. A beaten fav the start prior behind FRONTLINER, he lands conditions to suit, and his opponents look set to be battling for the minor money. VANISH HANOVER (9) was able to ease away from the pegs last start to find the running line and when eased wider had bullets to fire in cruising over the top to a smart win. Not suited in the Triad Consolation the start prior when forced to work, she is 2 from 2 on this track and can chime in. GLITTER STRIP (2) was angled to the pegs from the 2nd line last start to look for some luck when making some closing metres behind FAIRIESDELIGHT. Back to The Triangle suits and he is a place hope. MY ULTIMATE HESTON (1) settled in the pocket trail from this gate 3 starts back when finishing in 3rd position. Wide gates have beaten him at his past 2 and with this alley he is a podium hope. SELECTIONS: JUSTA LITTLE BIT (3), VANISH HANOVER (9), GLITTER STRIP (2), MY ULTIMATE HESTON (1) SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 3 / 1-2-9
RACE TEN
MISSTREPO (4) will be having her 3rd Queensland start and sneaks into this race nicely with an unfulfilled engagement after breaking her maiden status last start. Sent to the front over this trip, she was tired late but held on to score. Fitter again after the long break, she can repeat. SHEZ NOTORIOUS (3) tackled the Breeders Classic Final last start when midfield behind the gun filly CAT KING COLE. Running into the smart MY ULTIMATE BAXTER the start prior, she steps up to this mixed bag maiden here and with early hustle can be close to the action to challenge. PARTY POLOTIX (2) was sent forward last start in the Breeders Classic Consolation and tried to pinch it front. Only ROSES ARE SWEET was able to get past her in claiming 2nd. From the gate, she is right in the mix. ROCK WITH ZARA (7) will need a slice of luck in her favour but should still enjoy an economical trip against the markers. Only a neck away last start when making a late dive, she can chime in again.
SELECTIONS: MISSTREPO (4), SHEZ NOTORIOUS (3), PARTY POLOTIX (2), ROCK WITH ZARA (7) SUGGESTED BET: MISSTREPO (4) to win
