RACE TWO
DREAM TO SHARE (6) has had 2 runs back in the Darrel Graham barn, the latest when hitting the line strongly in the closing stages to grab the silver behind SABRAGE. He has no favours from the wide gate here bity with a genuine tempo expected in these keenly contested claimers, he can be ready to make a closing play. CHANTREY (5) sat back in the pack from the 2nd line last start over the 2138m when trying to make a closing rally, finishing 8m in arrears of RUN BOY RUN. Forced to grind it out in the breeze the start prior, he should appreciate a return to the front line and this race looks to set up for him to throw it down. FEEL THE REIGN (2) was looking to take them all the way over the middle distance last start but could not see it out when fading in the closing stages. Back to the mile is more his style and he can feature. WATTLEBANK FLYER (1) was a Redcliffe winner 4 runs back when swooping over the top of them in the closing stages. Barriers have not been his friend at his past 2 starts but tucked in behind here can make a closing play. SELECTIONS: DREAM TO SHARE (6), CHANTREY (5), FEEL THE REIGN (2), WATTLEBANK FLYER (1) SUGGESTED BET: DREAM TO SHARE (6) to win
RACE THREE He has shown a liking for the longer trip and on Saturday KID MONTANA (7) further stamped that assessment when winning the 2647m Flashing Red at his first run from the tapes. That win made it 2 from 2 over a trip greater than 2600m and despite the wide gate, can make it a threepeat at the trip. LITTLE RASCAL (5) was 2nd up from a spell last start when angled to the pegs from the 2nd line before easing wide to try to join in. Not too far from MAYWYNS BEST when resuming in a slick mile, key to his chances in this will be limiting the work in transit. MOTU GATECRAHSER (4) is another that has had 2 runs back from a spell the 1st up effort when down the line after working in the run. Sharper when 2nd up over the 2138m, the smaller field will help. NURBURGRING (1) has more been seen over the sprint and middle trip in Qld but has winning form over the longer in NZ. Working hard when 1st up over the mile, the inside gate is a big plus to his chances here. SELECTIONS: KID MONTANA (7), LITTLE RASCAL (5), MOTU GATECRAHSER (4), NURBURGRING (1) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE FOUR
The Gemma Hewitt trained KASHED UP (6) arrives fresh from a spell, bringing a record boasting a top-3 in 12 of 17. Within 9m of PATSBEACHSTORM in the NSW Derby Final 4 runs back, he was only a half-head from IDYLLIC in the G1 Gold Chalice last start. Tuned up with a pair of smart trials, he should be winning this on his way to bigger targets this Winter. WHATTA GOOD REASON (2) is still searching for the first win in his 3YO season following 5 placings in 8 attempts. His Friday effort signalled a win is not far away when holding on for 2nd behind THE RACONTEUR, finishing within 3m. Luckless 2 starts back, he has the gate to make a challenge. INNOCENT HEAVEN (1) is a NSW visitor in the care of Scott Hewitt that has only faced the starter on 4 occasions. Her last start from a wide gate at Goulburn had merit and the improved gate is a plus. GLENLEDI COMMANDER (5) found the front here on Friday from the four-hole and was trying to see it out when fading over the closing stages as MISSTREPO arrived. He can be thereabouts once again. SELECTIONS: KASHED UP (6), WHATTA GOOD REASON (2), INNOCENT HEAVEN (1), GLENLEDI COMMANDER (5) SUGGESTED BET: KASHED UP (6) to win
RACE FIVE This race looms as a tricky contest with a few different scenarios possible to play out. With a varied campaign, OUR BELLA LUCIA (2) might just be able to capitalise here. 3rd in a Trot Rods heat 2 starts back, she tackled a young driver’s event last start when asked to work tough in the death. This is within reach. TUAKANA (3) has hit the board in all 3 starts since joining the Narissa McMullen stable and steps out here at the Creek for the first time. Too gritty first up at Marburg, he worked hard in a Trot Rods scamper before working home late for the silver last start. From the gate he can throw it down. LETS BLAZE (9) eased away from the pegs last start to avoid a pocket from inside the 2nd line and was able to work home over the top to claim victory at the 2040m trip. With a similar trip, this is not much harder. ALBERIO (1) makes his 1st Qld appearance at what will also be his 1st outing for the visiting Cernovskis stable. Not seen since September, he has a sound trial to prepare and comes up with the right gate to feature. SELECTIONS: OUR BELLA LUCIA (2), TUAKANA (3), LETS BLAZE (9), ALBERIO (1) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE SIX CAPTAINS PICK (1) was beaten by a wide gate last start when retreating early and then the tempo made it tough for those chasing. The start prior he tackled the Triad Final when facing a task from a wide gate as MANILA PLAYBOY dominated. From the gate, he gets options and the chance to cash-in. HES SWEET (4) tackled the APG Final last start from inside the 2nd line when finishing 8m astern of the winner JASPER. Worried out of it by that same winner at Redcliffe 3 starts back, he will be better placed from this alley and pressing forward will throw down a big challenge. FAIRIESDELIGHT (2) was a winner over the mile here 3 starts back when working home from a rearward position to score. Not too far away in a strong mare’s qualifier last start, she is in the mix. BARKWAY ARNOLD (9) sat off the speed in a 947m Trot Rods event last start, making the closing shot a winning one. A two-time winner here at The Creek, he can power home late to feature. SELECTIONS: CAPTAINS PICK (1), HES SWEET (4), FAIRIESDELIGHT (2), BARKWAY ARNOLD (9) SUGGESTED BET: CAPTAINS PICK (1) to win
RACE SEVEN CALL ME KEITH (3) was strong over the latter stages last time out at the 2138m as ITZ MAJOR RICH was dealing in front. Earning a return to the main draw following a starting error 3 starts back, he has shown that he can do some work and was able to run a big mile in front 4 starts back when scoring. He can put it to them here. SWEET APPEAL (2) was sent forward from gate 3 over this trip 2 starts back and finding the front could not fight off the winner ITS MR CLOONEY. Chasing in the Triad Final as TALENT TO SPARE claimed victory last start, she will be right in the fight from this alley. PARATROUPER (1) has the lone win at Redcliffe to his name from 10 career starts but has been slowly improving. Only 7m from JASPER last start, he was game in defeat over the 2138m 2 starts back when beaten a head. The gate is a big plus. AUNTY FRANCES (8) should secure the economical trip against the poles and that could be the perfect place to be in this contest. A smart winner at Tamworth 2 starts back, she can be joining in. SELECTIONS: CALL ME KEITH (3), SWEET APPEAL (2), PARATROUPER (1), AUNTY FRANCES (8) SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-3-8
RACE EIGHT This is a quality contest with a mix of differing form lines converging where the ace marble really works to the favour of MISTERY ROAD (1). Game in defeat last start behind GENERAL MONTANA, he tried to make a back stretch challenge and continued to give to the wire. A smart winner 2 runs back at this trip, if he holds the pocket trail, he will be hard to hold out. WATTS UP SUNSHINE (6) brings a smart record North as he arrives with some bigger 3YO features on the radar for the Rickie Alchin barn. Resuming from a spell, he has not been seen at the public trials to prepare for the return. 8m in arrears when 3rd to PATSBEACHSTORM in the NSW Derby 3 starts back, he has the class but could just be vulnerable fresh. LUVHAVINFUN (2) is bursting to open her Qld account after her 4 runs since arriving have been full of merit. Closing in nice order over the 2138m last time out, the gate gives her the chance to feature. ANOTHER STATEMENT (4) was fired off the arm last start to take control and once in front over the mile was able to deal in front, cruising home to a comfortable victory. Fitter again after 3 runs back, he is in the mix. SELECTIONS: MISTERY ROAD (1), WATTS UP SUNSHINE (6), LUVHAVINFUN (2), ANOTHER STATEMENT (4) SUGGESTED BET: MISTERY ROAD (1) to win
RACE NINE
IN CHEVRON WE TRUST (1) has been kept fresh since his last appearance when snagged back in the early stages to secure position and then finding the closing power to strong up front as BIG WHEELS claimed victory. Beaten by gate 7 the start prior, he has the gate to capitalise on the available options. RAANI (10) took them all the way from gate 1 at the mile 4 starts back in stopping the clock in a new PB. From this same gate 2 starts back, she made her move from a rearward position at the 600m and kept giving to the line for a tidy victory. Gate 6 was her undoing last start and with the early trail through can be charging late here. MORESCO (4) likes this trip and from this gate has the early bullets to get herself close to the action. Gunned down in the closing strides here 3 starts back when holding on for silver behind VIENNA BOY, she is in the mix. MISTER DIAMOND (3) really caught the eye last start when searching for open space before rattling home over the closing stages when sighting the gap. Taking closer order in this, he can feature. SELECTIONS: IN CHEVRON WE TRUST (1), RAANI (10), MORESCO (4), MISTER DIAMOND (3) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE TEN His numbers might not be showing much but ROCKNROLL CLASSIC (4) looks to have found breakthrough conditions here from this alley. Retreating last start when unable to secure position, he then did not have much go his way. Against the tempo 2 runs back, he can make his own luck here. MONTANA CHIEF (6) has been a consistent performer in recent starts, hitting the line strongly from off the tempo regularly. Snagged back from gate 7 last tine out, he really found the line with gusto to grab the silver behind the power running AT WEST POINT. The gate does not help but watch for him late. THE DEMOCRAT (5) started from gate 11 last time out which did his chances no favours, but he was making good metres in the closing stages behind MAJOR MUCHA. With even luck, he is in the mix.
BROOKLYNS BEST (8) backs up from Friday and thus far in 3 Qld starts, she has not fired a shot. With the 2nd line options, she gets a chance to show some improvement in this.
SELECTIONS: ROCKNROLL CLASSIC (4), MONTANA CHIEF (6), THE DEMOCRAT (5), BROOKLYNS BEST (8) SUGGESTED BET: ROCKNROLL CLASSIC (4) to win
