RACE TWO
BRIAN CHRISTOPHER (1) was 2nd up in Qld here last week when sent straight to the front and with a well-judged drive lighting the lamps, was able to fight off the challengers for a comfortable victory. This is a step up from what he knocked over there, but from the front can look to see it out. HES SWEET (7) took control of proceedings from gate 2 here 3 runs back and once in control kept them all chasing. Down the line in a much tougher 3YO event at his next appearance, he should secure the perfect trip here to make a closing challenge in the stretch. DOOLITTLE DOOZZIE (2) has not been too far away in recent times with a top-3 at 4 of her past 5 including a win 5 runs back from the trail. With the right cover she can make a closing play. JOVIAL JULIE (8) was pegged away from inside the 2nd line last start and used the passing lane when 4m from the winner. With the right trip she will not be too far away again here. SELECTIONS: BRIAN CHRISTOPHER (1), HES SWEET (7), DOOLITTLE DOOZZIE (2), JOVIAL JULIE (8) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE THREE THEMIDNIGHTRAMBLER (2) has developed a super record here at The Triangle and last week made it win number 7 on the track since joining the Graham Dwyer barn. Sent forward from the 2nd line to grind the leader into the track last week, a return to the front line can see him take them all the way. RAINBOW JET (9) is moving closer to a victory after finishing in the money at his past 3 on the bounce. Looking to take them all the way here last week, he led all bar the most important stride. Only a half-head away 2 starts back, he can make a closing play here. DOOLITTLE DANDY (1) has had 2 runs back from a spell, the latest an improvement off the 1st up run. With the cosy trip in behind the speed, he can make a play for the podium. WHERES TASCOTT (7) will enjoy the economical trip and with the pegs a good place, will be ready to chime into the money. SELECTIONS: THEMIDNIGHTRAMBLER (2), RAINBOW JET (9), DOOLITTLE DANDY (1), WHERES TASCOTT (7) SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 2 / 1-7-9
RACE FOUR SNOOP STRIDE (3) rolled forward from gate 3 last time out to sit in the breeze and from there was too strong in claiming victory by a half-neck, running a strong closing 800m in finishing them off. Within 4m of the handy THE RACONTEUR the start prior, he has the gate to capitalise here. GOTTAHAVEAHOBBIE (6) started from gate 9 last time out and was wide off the track when looking to loom up in the closing stages, finishing 2m from the winner ARK ME. Charging home here 2 starts back when beaten a pimple, the gate stings but he can be throwing it down in the stretch. SPORT MENTAL (8) has faced the starter on 3 occasions since arriving from the Shaky Isles, scoring a Shepparton win and a 3rd at Maryborough. His last start 3rd was solid, and he can trail through to feature. MACHIN OUT (9) scored his first win of the season here last week when charging home down the outside fence to arrive right on the wire. He will need to be charging home again to chime in. SELECTIONS: SNOOP STRIDE (3), GOTTAHAVEAHOBBIE (6), SPORT MENTAL (8), MACHIN OUT (9) SUGGESTED BET: SNOOP STRIDE (3) to win
RACE FIVE ILLBEWATCHING (3) should appreciate a tighter alley after landing outside the front at 3 of his past 4 starts. Doing some early work to get across last time out, the locker was empty for the closing stages, while 4 starts back he had something in there to finish them off. The improved gate can see him home. TEACHERS PET (1) is in search of a hat-trick of victories after successive wins here at the 1780m trip. Sent straight to the front last time out, she was never in danger when taking them all the way. With the gate to call the early options, she will be throwing it down. DEAL BREAKER (8) completed a threepeat of Redcliffe victories here last time out when taking control from gate 2 and leading throughout over the 2040m trip. With the ability to work if needed, he is right in the fight. ABBEY DIADEMA (7) looks set to enjoy an easy trip in behind the speed here and can be searching for the openings. Only 3m from THEMIDNIGHTRAMBLER last start, look for her chiming in. SELECTIONS: ILLBEWATCHING (3), TEACHERS PET (1), DEAL BREAKER (8), ABBEY DIADEMA (7) SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-3-7-8
RACE SIX RINGOS A STAR (8) was not suited from inside the 2nd line last time out and was soon buried in the run and needing the space. BRIAN CHRISTOPHER took them all the way in that event and had followed a midfield return despite being just 3m from the winner. With even luck, this looks within reach. PRESS STATEMENT (1) has been runner-up at his past 2 starts, the latest as the fav when working home from back in the pack after starting from gate 8. Best of the rest behind the power running UNCLE SHANK 2 starts back, he has the gate to capitalise and take his Redcliffe record to 2 for 2. MAJOR MISCHIEF (4) started from gate 5 here last week when having his 2nd outing since arriving in Qld. Grinding it out from the breeze, it was a gritty effort and with added local experience can feature. POOR MANS DELIGHT (3) looked a decent chance last start, but we never got to see how close he could have been after making an error. A game effort 2 starts back, he can be in the mix here. SELECTIONS: RINGOS A STAR (8), PRESS STATEMENT (1), MAJOR MISCHIEF (4), POOR MANS DELIGHT (3) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE SEVEN NAUGHTYINHEAVEN (4) had the speed to lead from gate 5 over the AP mile last start when showing her early moves to get across them. Unable to fight them off in the closing stages, it followed a down the line effort here in a much tougher contest. Taking control, if she can pinch a panel or two, she can last. MAGHERA MAGGIE (1) settled in the running line last time out but could not get warm over the latter stages as TEACHERS PET powered home to the prize. With the better trip on offer from this alley, she can be ready to take her shot when the gaps arrive. WHATA REACTOR (9) found the pattern matching conditions last start and from the pocket trail charged clear in the stretch to an easy win. The gate makes it tougher, but she can still feature. GHOST GUM (5) made an error from the tapes last start at Marburg but was able to reset quickly enough to find the trail. Not too far away, he can be making a late play for the podium in this. SELECTIONS: NAUGHTYINHEAVEN (4), MAGHERA MAGGIE (1), WHATA REACTOR (9), GHOST GUM (5) SUGGESTED BET: NAUGHTYINHEAVEN (4) to win
RACE EIGHT COBBITY CASTLE (6) made her first appearance in Qld here at The Triangle when pressing forward from gate 4 and finding the 1x1 trail. Powering over the top of them in the closing stages to claim a comfortable 8m victory, she can back it up and put this field away. PAGENATRY (1) tackled the AP mile last start and from gate 2 could not repel the early challengers and from there his chances expired. A Kilcoy winner 3 starts back, he will need to hustle hard off the arm, but should be able to be close enough to make a challenge in this line up. BERTILS FIREFOX (7) started from this alley last start and was locked away before chiming in for the bronze. With the easy trip he can take the short-cuts to chime in. ELLE JAY (4) fired out of the machine last start and was looking to go all the way. Best of the chasers behind WHATA REACTOR, she can be close enough to feature in this. SELECTIONS: COBBITY CASTLE (6), PAGENATRY (1), BERTILS FIREFOX (7), ELLE JAY (4) SUGGESTED BET: COBBITY CASTLE (6) to win
RACE NINE
MIDNIGHT SOMEWHERE (2) started from inside the 2nd line last time out in the Redcliffe sales final and was soon hemmed away and needing plenty of luck. His effort in the closing stages had merit and with the gate to capitalise here can look to get on the board. MERIBEL (3) was returning from a let up since the Breeders Classic when lining up here last week. Forced to hang tough in the death chair as the ruling fav, she could not hold off the challenge of ZACHAROONI. Fitter for the outing, she can look to make a challenge in this. SHEZA CHANCE (4) tried to take them all the way on debut when collared in the closing stride. With an easy trip last start she could not go on with it but can be looking for the podium. VODKA EN ICE (9) eased from gate 5 here last week to find the pegs and was still having a good look about when grabbing the bronze. Only 6m from the winner ZACHAROONI, he can chime in again. SELECTIONS: MIDNIGHT SOMEWHERE (2), MERIBEL (3), SHEZA CHANCE (4), VODKA EN ICE (9) SUGGESTED BET: MIDNIGHT SOMEWHERE (2) to win
RACE TEN
149 combined starts in this field of maidens searching for their moment to shine. SIR HASZEM (2) continues to move closer to the elusive victory finishing as the runner-up at 3 of his past 5 including the last 2 in succession. Grabbed in the closing strides last start, he can fight them off. STEEVEN (1) eased to the pegs from gate 4 last time out to search for the short-cuts and finished midfield over the AP mile when 7m from SHEZ GOT BLING. Bumping into the talented UNCLE SHANK the start prior, he will appreciate the return to maiden company. ROCK WITH ZARA (8) was pegged away here last start and found the line in nice order behind ROCK SUPREME. With the right early trail, she can be joining in here. KALANI (4) has the breeding to go on with it but has yet to take the winning step. Runner-up in 2 of his 4 starts, he was hitting the line soundly last start and is not far away from a breakthrough. SELECTIONS: SIR HASZEM (2), STEEVEN (1), ROCK WITH ZARA (8), KALANI (4) SUGGESTED BET: SIR HASZEM (2) to win
