The 2021 TAB Queensland Summer Harness Racing Carnival is set to launch.
Ahead of the Inter Dominion Championship, Australasia’s best standardbreds will be given the opportunity to converge on the Sunshine State to chase some of Queensland’s biggest features including The Be Good Johnny Sprint, the Queensland Cup and the Trotters Sprint.
Over two action-packed nights at Albion Park, 11 Group races will be run and won including the Forever Gold Mares and the QBRED For Life Finals.
This year’s Summer Carnival will also feature the Group 2 Peak Of The Creek, which will provide horses with a National Rating from 55-70 with a $50,000 Final.
The unique event will see heats contested two nights prior to the Final, with connections then able to select their own barrier based on individual horse times run in the heats.
Following the major Group races at Albion Park on November 6 and 13, the features will continue at The Creek throughout December with the Lord Mayors Cup and Christmas Cup.
The Summer Carnival will then conclude on December 22 with the Redcliffe Christmas Cup, Trotters Christmas Cup and the Redcliffe Guineas.
“We’re looking forward to another exciting Summer Carnival,” RQ Executive General Manager Operations Adam Wallish said.
“Following the success of the recently completed TAB Queensland Constellations, and with the Inter Dominion on the horizon, the Summer Carnival provides the perfect platform for horses to fine-tune their preparations whilst chasing Group racing glory.
“It should be a great campaign.”
