RACE TWO
BLISSFULDAY (1) has been runner-up at his past 2 outings, the latest when using the passing lane from inside the 2nd line when 3m from the winner. With all the options he lands his chance to cash-in for victory. GOTTAHAVEAHOBBIE (6) will appreciate the early scratching’s drawn to his inside as he moves closer to the poles. Taking them all the way from gate 1 last start with a smart closing half, this is a shade easier, and he will throw down a big challenge. SO BOBS YOUR UNCLE (9) was not that far from the winner last start and could have been closer with better luck. Effective when saved for one shot, he can be taking inside runs. MISTER BLACKJACK (7) will take some benefit from his latest offering when resuming from a spell. With the cosy trip he will be searching for gaps to join in. SELECTIONS: BLISSFULDAY (1), GOTTAHAVEAHOBBIE (6), SO BOBS YOUR UNCLE (9), MISTER BLACKJACK (7) SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-6-7-9
RACE THREE TINGE OF FEAR (2) was sent forward to sit parked last start at Marburg and was grinding it out when holding on for the silver. Gunned down by subsequent winner GELDOF here 2 starts back, the gate gives her the chance to capitalise. LA SAFRON (8) has been hitting some nice areas in recent outings, the latest when having no luck at all when searching for openings that did not present. Hitting the board his previous 5 in succession that included a nice win, he can trail through to make his challenge. A KERRY MAN (9) will be further tightened after 2 runs back from a spell, the latest when within 3m of the winner after setting the speed. A mid-race move might be the play here. SPORTY AZZ (5) settled in the running line last start and was sound to the line when 7m in arrears of the winner IFOUNDTHEBEACH. He can be thereabouts again here. SELECTIONS: TINGE OF FEAR (2), LA SAFRON (8), A KERRY MAN (9), SPORTY AZZ (5) SUGGESTED BET: TINGE OF FEAR (2) to win
RACE FOUR MAFFIOSO GIRL (1) is best suited when able to find the front and she lands the alley to match the pattern. Wilting after a torrid trip 2 starts back she was trying to chase after retreating from the start last time. She gets the marble to be gripping on. GABBYS IDEAL (7) held the pocket trail from the ace last start and with the cosy trip held on for 3rd behind LIFEINHEAVEN. Only 3m from MAJOR MISCHIEF here 3 starts back, she should enjoy the soft ride again and be ready to make a closing challenge. BE GOOD BENNY (9) eased from a wide gate last start and was deep in the pack when not making an impression in the closing stages. Closing out nicely 2 starts back over the AP 2138m, he has claims. PRINCE JOY (3) was facing a task last start when chasing as the star 2YO TEDDY DISCO was dictating. 6m away in 3rd over the AP mile the start prior, he can be making a play here. SELECTIONS: MAFFIOSO GIRL (1), GABBYS IDEAL (7), BE GOOD BENNY (9), PRINCE JOY (3) SUGGESTED BET: MAFFIOSO GIRL (1) to win
RACE FIVE BUKTHSYSTEM (8) had the finishing power to descend on them and take the prize over the AP 2138m 2 starts back and then fade late after working in the early stages last time as the handy 2YO SOHO CASABLANCA took the prize. With an even slice of luck, he can capitalise here. FORTYFIVE ROCK (1) fired out of the machine to lead throughout here 2 starts back after pinching a margin at the 300m and fighting them off. Unable to replicate the win when gunned down last start in front, he will be in front turning for home, trying to stave off the challengers. MICHAELS DESIRE (7) was looking to take them all the way last start but could not see it out and had to settle for the silver. With a cosy trip, he will be searching for the gaps. HOLDINGNO CURRENCY (3) has been runner-up at his past 2 outings, the latest when closing out late in a blanket finish and just a half-head shy of the prize. This is easier. SELECTIONS: BUKTHSYSTEM (8), FORTYFIVE ROCK (1), MICHAELS DESIRE (7), HOLDINGNO CURRENCY (3) SUGGESTED BET: BUKTHSYSTEM (8) to win
RACE SIX ONETWO THREECHEESE (4) is in search of one, two three wins in succession after a Marburg win was followed with an all the way win from gate 4 here last time out. Once in control, he was able to fight them off for a narrow victory. With the speed to lead, he can rinse and repeat. MISTERRIODEJANEIRO (9) overcame the outside front line gate at Marburg last start after retreating in the early stages before powering home wide out for a smart win. A winner when swooping here 3 runs back, he can watch the action infold before making the closing challenge. CALVERT HOT SHOT (3) will find this easier than his last outing when tackling a qualifier and trailing them in behind DOUBLE OR NOTHING. Settling handy will be key to his chances. NIKALONG HENRY (2) lands his best gate for some time and can be close enough to the action to chime in for a minor here. Eased and then buried last time, he can be sharper. SELECTIONS: ONETWO THREECHEESE (4), MISTERRIODEJANEIRO (9), CALVERT HOT SHOT (3), NIKALONG HENRY (2) SUGGESTED BET: ONETWO THREECHEESE (4) to win
RACE SEVEN MANOFLISA (2) was wide off the track for a long way last time at Marburg when 3rd up from a spell. Yet to really fire a shot since resuming, he lands the gate to get closer to the action and that might be all he needs to bounce back to winning form. ALWAYS AT NIGHT (8) might contemplate a mid-race move to get handy here as he looks for win number 3 at his past 4 starts. Finishing best from the 1x1 here last start, he can feature. ITSMEGS (4) struck trouble last start at Marburg when chasing as OUR EDUARDO DENARIO cashed in. Runner-up here 3 starts back, she can feature with that type of return here. SELECTIONS: MANOFLISA (2), ALWAYS AT NIGHT (8), ITSMEGS (4) SUGGESTED BET: MANOFLISA (2) to win
RACE EIGHT OUR EDUARDO DENARIO (3) was looking to make it 4 from 4 since joining the Chloe Butler stable here last time out but after being asked to sit parked from gate 4, was unable to see it out as he wilted. His previous 2 wins came when leading and if reducing the workload in transit, he can bounce back. WEDDING NIGHT (2) took the trail last start and with the ideal trip in behind the speed made the closing shot a winning one. Asked to hang tough in the breeze 2 starts back, she landed a maiden breaking win 3 runs back and from this gate can be close enough to challenge. HESLUVABLE (8) chimes in for the silver when attacking the line in the closing stages here 2 starts back and will have early options of where to position. With the right trip he is a podium chance. SPEED OF SOUND (7) is a newcomer to Qld and lines up for Graham Dwyer. Arriving a two-time winner, it has been 12 months since that last victory but will find this much easier than her recent assignments at Bathurst. SELECTIONS: OUR EDUARDO DENARIO (3), WEDDING NIGHT (2), HESLUVABLE (8), SPEED OF SOUND (7) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE NINE AROONA (8) has been without a win for some time but strikes a wide open contest here and he gets a chance to bounce back to winning form. Unable to warm up last start, he can get the trail through early to throw down a finishing play. THREE MACHS (5) secured the 1x1 trail last start and was making a closing play when grabbing the bronze behind CARIBBEAN ROCKET. Beaten by the wide gate the start prior, she faces the tough alley again here but with a slice of luck can be joining in again here. A ROCKNROLL LEGACY (1) finds a suitable race here and if able to burrow through and then just pinch a panel or two in front, he might just be hard to gun down. FREMARKSINDI (9) secured the ideal trip in behind the speed here last time out and made the closing shot a winning one. The gate gives her no favours here. SELECTIONS: AROONA (8), THREE MACHS (5), A ROCKNROLL LEGACY (1), FREMARKSINDI (9) SUGGESTED BET: AROONA (8) to win
RACE TEN PATCHWORK JET (6) comes up with the wide alley but brings superior form to his rivals for this challenge. A winner here 3 starts back when swooping over the top of them in the closing stages, he was again making closing ground last start for the bronze. This is well within reach despite the gate. LORD DENZEL (3) was beaten by gate 6 last start when retreating early and from back in the pack was picking off some late metres when 7m from the winner. Firing early bullets can see him out of trouble and making a challenge. TURN TURN FLYER (9) found the pocket trail last start and with the easy trip made a closing play to grab the silver behind VERMONT. The gate does not help but he is a hope. CHANG (2) has started inside the 2nd line at his past 2 starts and been searching for gaps. Tucking just behind the pace he can chime in. SELECTIONS: PATCHWORK JET (6), LORD DENZEL (3), TURN TURN FLYER (9), CHANG (2) SUGGESTED BET: PATCHWORK JET (6) to win
