Racing Queensland is supporting Safe Work Month and Mental Health Week in the racing industry throughout October. Being healthy and safe at work means no job should be unsafe and no worker should be physically or psychologically harmed, and every worker should return home safe and healthy every day. A safe and healthy workplace benefits everyone.
The theme for Safe Work Month this year is think safe. work safe. be safe.
Think Safe - Is the first step to thinking about work health and safety, which covers the considerations and planning that employers and small business owners must undertake to identify risks and maintain a healthy and safe workplace.
Work Safe - Is about implementing workplace health and safety measures to manage risks including the practical steps you can take to reduce and avoid workplace incidents.
Be Safe - Highlights the ongoing review process employers and small business owners must undertake to ensure continuous management and monitoring work health and safety risks.
Racing Queensland has partnered with race clubs from each code to promote and show support for Safe Work Month and Mental Health Week, by naming races RQ Supports Racing Industry Safety and inviting everyone in the racing industry to think about their own health and safety and to make appropriate changes to ensure racing is the number 1 sporting industry in the sunshine state.
