RACE TWO After a real eye-catcher when resuming from a spell where she charged home for a narrow 2nd, EUGENIEN (4) was able to do it the tough way last time at her 3rd career start. Sitting parked, it was steady early before getting home in 28.4 to hold on. With added experience she can repeat. VODKA EN ICE (8) was resuming from a spell last start in the same race claimed by EUGENIEN. Darting in behind the leader for the cosy run, he was trying to launch a closing raid up the passing lane when 3m away. Tightened from the run, he should secure another easy trip. MERGE RIGHT (1) started from this gate last time and was trying to see it out, fighting hard to the wire when just worried out of it as EUGENIEN claimed the prize. From the gate, she can feature. MISTER REACTOR (3) was sent forward from gate 6 at Redcliffe last start and working hard in the run went within a half-neck of the win. Only 2m away the start prior, he is right in the fight.
SELECTIONS: EUGENIEN (4), VODKA EN ICE (8), MERGE RIGHT (1), MISTER REACTOR (3) SUGGESTED BET: EUGENIEN (4) to win
RACE THREE Last start at the mile, COLONEL JOY (1) fired out from this gate in a sub 27 opener and then was able to control it to take them all the way. Buried in the run the start prior when 6m from THE DEMOCRAT, he comes up again with the options to look for successive victories. YEP GOT CHOOKS (7) was sent around the field form the 2nd line last start to sit parked but could not maintain the rage when fading for the bronze when 10m from the winner EL AGUILA. That was his 2nd run back from a freshen, returning with a tidy effort behind KIWIS ARE FLYING. The gate stings. OBI ONE (5) has been runner-up at his past 2 starts, the latest when buried from inside the 2nd line and best of the chasers. 5m from LE TISSIER the start prior, he can be thereabouts. B MAC C (4) eased from this gate to find the running line last start but couldn’t reel them in as EL AGUILA claimed victory. The smaller field will aid his chances for a closing raid. SELECTIONS: COLONEL JOY (1), YEP GOT CHOOKS (7), OBI ONE (5), B MAC C (4) SUGGESTED BET: COLONEL JOY (1) to win
RACE FOUR A tricky contest to pull apart here where if the factors are in her favour, MOTU AMETHYST (8) could just have found the right conditions to cash-in upon. Doing some early work to secure position, she made a closing play when 3.5m from SIGNOR JUJON last start. Will be ready to strike. WHATELEY (1) was a Redcliffe winner 3 starts back when sitting parked and grinding out a tough win when first up in over 7 weeks. Luckless at his next start when beaten a lip, he chased hard behind WOODLANDS WONDER last time. The gate gives him every chance to take them all the way. CHUMP CHOP (6) was shooting for a hat-trick of victories last start when sent to the post in red figures. Unable to reel in the leader and winner SIGNOR JUJON, the gate makes it tricky. TRIOLI (7) will take further benefit from her latest outing when hitting the line smartly to be 5m in arrears of the winner. She will be going back early but can be chiming into the action. SELECTIONS: MOTU AMETHYST (8), WHATELEY (1), CHUMP CHOP (6), TRIOLI (7) SUGGESTED BET: MOTU AMETHYST (8) to win
RACE FIVE If drawn anywhere from gate 5 or closer, the chances of BARIKA (10) in this race would look quite strong. Alas, she needs to start from gate 10, which makes the task a little harder. Taking them all the way last start in a 55.9 PB, the win followed five successive placed returns, some when only narrowly beaten. If the speed is genuine, she can still arrive. GOLDEN LACE (3) arrives in the Sunshine State a four-time winner on the North Island of NZ, including last start at Cambridge when resuming from a spell. Given one local trial to prepare, she was not asked for much in the hit out and stays under watch in this line up. CAPTAINS PICK (6) was resuming from a spell last time out when tackling a Peak of the Creek Heat. Buried from gate 1, he was trying to make late ground when 5m from the winner. The gate stings. HEAVY HITTER (7) was snagged off the arm when the field was released from gate 7 here last start. Settling on the pegs at the rear, he charged home when asked for a smart win, look for him charging. SELECTIONS: BARIKA (10), GOLDEN LACE (3), CAPTAINS PICK (6), HEAVY HITTER (7) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE SIX Placed in both starts since claiming victory here 3 starts back, COULDNTMISAFALCON (2) looks to settle just in behind the action here and be ready to unleash the closing raid. Her win cam from the pocket trail when charging once the gap opened and followed that when chiming in behind TEDDY DISCO. SIGNOR JUJON (1) took full advantage of conditions here lats start when firing off the arm to take control and from the front was able to see it out and hold on for a head margin. From the gate he gets every opportunity to look for a repeat. TROPICAL STORM (7) features in a stable change and lines up for Jack Butler. Unable to make any impact from the 2nd line last start at Redcliffe, anything like his run here 5 back from this gate can see him chime in. FORTES IN FIDE (8) started from gate 10 last start when looking to attack over the closing stages where he grabbed the silver, beaten a head. With the cosy trip, he can be ready to strike, his AP record the nagging concern. SELECTIONS: COULDNTMISAFALCON (2), SIGNOR JUJON (1), TROPICAL STORM (7), FORTES IN FIDE (8) SUGGESTED BET: COULDNTMISAFALCON (2) to win
RACE SEVEN With speed to burn when the arms fold back, STREITKID (5) should relish a drop back to Tuesday grade after meeting tougher opponents on the Saturday night circuit. Holding on for 3rd last start after setting the speed, he was fresh in that following a torrid trip the start prior. This shapes ideally. HANDOME HERO (9) eased from gate 5 last time out over the mile when securing a cart into the contest. With bullets to fire, he was able to blaze home for a drought breaking victory. Pressing through to settle handy to the action, he can be charging late again with this not much harder. BEE GEES BANDIT (2) was hemmed away last start and made some late ground when 5m from the winner OUR MAJOR DAY. Firing an early shot here can see him in a good position to chime in. OUR BONDI BEACH (3) wasn’t aided last start by a flat tire when trailing the field home. Strong to the line the start prior when within 1.5m of the winner, he can settle handy enough to be a factor. SELECTIONS: STREITKID (5), HANDOME HERO (9), BEE GEES BANDIT (2), OUR BONDI BEACH (3) SUGGESTED BET: STREITKID (5) to win
RACE EIGHT A winner over this trip when sent to the front to take control 5 runs back, IN CHEVRON WE TRUST (11) followed the win with a pair of narrow 2nds including a half-head margin when tackling a qualifier. In a race where many of his opponents have questionable claims to seeing out the 2138m, he can look to finish them off. FIREHOUSE (2) has faced some tough gates in recent starts, the latest when sent forward to sit parked from gate 6 over this trip. Grinding it out to finish 5m from the swooping winner ROCKINDOWNUNDER, he can have an early look and look for his 1st Qld victory. CONGO LINE (3) was asked to do it the tough way here 2 starts back and continued to give to the wire when holding on for the silver behind SWEET LOMBO. Tucking in can see him charge late. FLIGHT CREW (4) has a pair of wins and a pair of placings in her past 4 starts, the latest a victory when pressing on to take control from gate 5. If up to the task of the 2138m, she is right in the fight. SELECTIONS: IN CHEVRON WE TRUST (11), FIREHOUSE (2), CONGO LINE (3), FLIGHT CREW (4) SUGGESTED BET: IN CHEVRON WE TRUST (11) to win
RACE NINE In great touch this campaign since returning from a spell, DESPONDENT (3) looks to have found the conditions to add another win. Taking the trail from gate 1 over the 2138m here 2 starts back, he had too much closing power to claim the prize. Not much went right last start and he can atone. ONE LAST ROLL (9) has hit some form with wins in 2 of his past 3 starts, the latest when taking advantage from gate 2 for an all the way win. Taking them all the way 3 starts back when rifling off the arm from gate 5 to take control, he will need to chase this time but is going well enough to challenge. JAY TEE TYRON (4) was looking to take them all the way at Marburg 2 starts back but could not hold off the challenge of subsequent winner TEARAWAY DIAMOND. Not suited last start, he has claims. MISTER DIAMOND (10) did not have much go in his favour last start in a het of the Band 5 series and faded out as a result. Just 2m from THE ROCKNROLL KING the start prior, the gate stings but this is not out of reach. SELECTIONS: DESPONDENT (3), ONE LAST ROLL (9), JAY TEE TYRON (4), MISTER DIAMOND (10) SUGGESTED BET: DESPONDENT (3) to win
