On her recent Sydney visitors, the Eagle Farm-based trainer could not be prouder of their efforts in the Harbour City, both running inside the top four on the big stage.
Looking ahead, Forster believes the trip south of the border will only benefit Apache Chase and Georgie’s Pride – thinking the long float trip away might just be the making of the pair, only adding to their maturity.
Apache Chase was brave in the $7.5 million Golden Eagle, the trainer says, thinking he should have finished inside the money if he got a better run.
“They have come back and they have not missed a beat,” she said.
“It was lucky they went away together as they are good mates.
“They have come through it all well, they will have a trial at Deagon next week to top them off nicely.
“It was a good experience for the horses to get away, give them a trip, it does them the world of good.”
Apache Chase will now aim towards The Gateway, which will be run at Eagle Farm on December 11, providing a ‘win and you’re in’ for four-year-old’s into the Stradbroke Handicap.
Speaking of NSW, Bright Rubick was set to make her debut for the stable this Saturday after previously doing her racing around the Scone area.
Previously trained by John Ramsey and owned by his family, Bright Rubick has won four from 22 with her connections hopeful of nabbing some black-type racing while based in the Sunshine State.
Forster nominated the chestnut mare for Saturday’s Listed Fillies & Mares Classic and the Benchmark 80 Handicap over 1200 metres, but later opted to delay her first start for her yard.
“We are trying to chase a little bit of black-type for the owners,” Forster said.
“She has done everything right since she has been here, she is a mare that does everything right.
“She goes through the motions. Her form is ok; she might need to improve a little bit to be competitive in races like this.
“I am very happy with her. John was training her down at Scone and with all the travel involved with the virus and what not, he asked me to take her on and see if we could get some black type for her.”
After his first-up assignment in the Recognition Stakes this Saturday at Aquis Park, Red Chase will move towards the Lough Neagh Stakes at Eagle Farm in the middle of next month.
