RACE TWO

In the small field of mares JASPER (5) looks to have a distinct class advantage. Sitting parked over the mile last start when holding a 4m 2nd behind TALENT TO SPARE, it had followed successive Redcliffe victories in mare’s company. Despite the gate, the win will tick her over $200k in earnings.

GIRL FROM OZ (6) will appreciate the small field, the added fitness from her last start and a return to battle her own sex. Not seen on the smaller tracks while headquarters was out of action through March, she again faces a wide gate but can look to issue some form of challenge.

AUNTY BELLA (3) heads North for another campaign for Chris Frisby, with three wins and five minors here at The Creek in previous appearances. The gate gives her the chance to feature.

SELECTIONS: JASPER (5), GIRL FROM OZ (6), AUNTY BELLA (3)
SUGGESTED BET: JASPER (5) to win

RACE THREE

With the best figures of any of his opponents this season and the ability to take control of this contest, LOVE YOUR WORK (2) looks to get every opportunity to claim a dictating win. Asked to hang tough from gate 5 at Redcliffe last start when just 5m away in sharp time, he looks to have the edge.

CHAMONIX (5) has been struggling to display his best this season, hitting the board just once in six appearances. Snagged to the rear last start from a wide gate, he was never in the mix as STREITKID powered up in front. Despite the wide gate, he strikes the opportunity to land in the money.

HES SWEET (6) was not suited form inside the second line at Redcliffe last start and that wasn’t aided by striking a chequered passage. The small field will assist his chances of a podium finish.

SELECTIONS: LOVE YOUR WORK (2), CHAMONIX (5), HES SWEET (6)
SUGGESTED BET: LOVE YOUR WORK (2) to win

RACE FOUR

This is a strong midweek trot with half the field coming from the McNeil final, including the first three over the line. RILEY MOMENT (2) was 2nd in that Final after being hemmed away before charging home in the closing stages to grab the silver. Meeting that winner 20m better and back to 2138m, she can take this.

JANSSON (7) held on for a narrow 3rd in the Final after shanghaiing off the tapes in his normal manner before taking the trail on eventual winner REGAL APPOINTMENT. Back to the 2138m is in his favour after the longer trip last start and with is early speed will be right in the firing line.

REGAL APPOINTMENT (10) backed up a Redcliffe victory between the Heats and Final of the McNeil by being sent confidently forward to take control in the 2647m Final and fight them off. Giving up the 20m to the two placegetters over the 2138m makes this a tougher ask.

MATATOKI (11) was smart Redcliffe winner two starts back before a midfield finish in the Trotters Marathon where he had genuine excuses. He has podium claims in this grade.

SELECTIONS: RILEY MOMENT (2), JANSSON (7), REGAL APPOINTMENT (10), MATATOKI (11)
SUGGESTED BET: RILEY MOMENT (2) to win

RACE FIVE

With figure form that might just belie his efforts in Qld from four attempts, DO BALL (9) has not really had things in his favour. Three of those four runs in standing starts have been in the McNeil Series, his effort in the Final nice from the rear. Back to mobile conditions on the big track can be the catalyst for success.

JACCKA WATCH (3) was hemmed away last start from the 30m tape before finding the line in smart order to grab the silver as the best of the chasers behind the impressive return of YOU NO ILL BE LATE. Still giving away plenty of experience as a one-win performer, he can make a challenge.

DOWN UNDER RORS (6) has been around the money of late, hitting the board in three of his past four, including a Redcliffe victory in a small field. The gate stings but positioning cheaply will help.

JUST CALL ME MOLLY (2) does her best work under mobile conditions and from this alley looks set to be first to the poles. Grabbed in the last strides at Redcliffe two starts back, she can feature.

SELECTIONS: DO BALL (9), JACCKA WATCH (3), DOWN UNDER RORS (6), JUST CALL ME MOLLY (2)
SUGGESTED BET: DO BALL (9) to win

RACE SIX

Four first starters and all maidens in this APG heat where the NSW trained AURORA JOY (2) might have the edge. Showing good improvement at each outing in three Bathurst starts, she found the line in nice order for 3rd in the Tiara Consolation last start and from the gate can look to capitalise.

MISS FROUFROU (1) settled at the back of the running line here on Saturday night and was making some nice metres in the closing stages when 3rd behind what looks a handy one in FRANKIE FEROCIOUS. Taking further race craft out of that run where she was second up, the gate helps here.

MAYWYNS LA NINA (4) is prepared by Kelli Dawson and is the first starter of the unraced stallion Bull Mattregor to hit the track. The filly has trialled soundly in readiness for the debut.

PROSPECTUS (3) is an Art Major filly for Lachie Manzelmann making her first race appearance. Qualifying behind older horses, it was a tidy hit out and she stays under watch from this alley.

SELECTIONS: AURORA JOY (2), MISS FROUFROU (1), MAYWYNS LA NINA (4), PROSPECTUS (3)
SUGGESTED BET: AURORA JOY (2) to win

RACE EIGHT

With three strong runners resuming from a spell and the map working against some others, SO MUCH MORE (1) comes up with the opportunity to cash-in. Placed in all four starts since returning for his 4YO season, he was asked to grind it out last start when holding 2nd. The options look ideal.

GOELITZ (3) was beaten by the second line at Redcliffe last start when trying to join in and finishing 5m in arrears of THERESACHANCE. Setting the speed in a strong Saturday metro event here two starts back when collared late, he can fire the early bullets here to make his challenge.

JACKS N JAZZ (7) pressed on from outside the front line at Redcliffe last start to work to the front and in control ran along to score in smart time. Fitter again for that outing, he can make a play.

ITZ MAJOR RICH (5) returns to Qld after an NSW campaign last season where he hit strong form at Menangle. Last seen back in October, with no trial, he may need a run or two to tighten.

SELECTIONS: SO MUCH MORE (1), GOELITZ (3), JACKS N JAZZ (7), ITZ MAJOR RICH (5)
SUGGESTED BET: SO MUCH MORE (1) to win

RACE NINE

Mixing her numbers since arriving in Qld BAKER CREEK (9) faces a second line gate here at headquarters for the first time. Sent forward to lead over the 2138m and then once in front fighting them off two back, she was snagged back from the same alley here last week at the mile and never in the mix. At her best this is within reach.

MONGOLIAN CONQUEROR (10) has been campaigning on the tight tracks in recent starts, the latest when best of the chasers to hold 2nd behind JACKS N JAZZ.  Making a mess of the standing start at Marburg two starts back, with the right cart home, he can look to throw down the challenge.

TREACHEROUS ONE (7) is a newcomer to the Trent Dawson stable and steps out for the first time since January without a public hit out. The gate stings fresh.

ROCKNROLL TIMES (2) was sent to the front last start at Redcliffe and looked to have his opportunity to see it out but was gunned down in the stretch. He can bounce back from this gate.

SELECTIONS: BAKER CREEK (9), MONGOLIAN CONQUEROR (10), TREACHEROUS ONE (7), ROCKNROLL TIMES (2)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE TEN

Showing an appreciation to getting back on the big track, OUR AUNTY ASH (9) made the most of gate 1 to take them all the way here last week. Never in danger once in control, it followed a 3m 2nd after releasing the speed here the two starts back. With the right trial through she can arrive.

SHEREACTS (2) showed the early hustle to set up the speed here last week, with a 27.6 opening panel laid out to take control. Midfield the start prior after releasing, she looks set to be on the front end again here and if able to pinch a panel or two will give them the target.

FORTES IN FIDE (1) settled back in the pack last start from the second line before hitting the line in nice order to grab the bronze. With the cosy trip on offer from this alley, he has podium claims.

MAGICAL MAYA (8) will be requiring a slice of luck at some stage to find open track, but when the gaps arrive look for her probing following her last start 2nd when grinding it out from the breeze.

SELECTIONS: OUR AUNTY ASH (9), SHEREACTS (2), FORTES IN FIDE (1), MAGICAL MAYA (8)
SUGGESTED BET: OUR AUNTY ASH (9) to win
