RACE ONE Sectionally superb in recent weeks, PELOSI (2) was a winner here two starts back over the mile when wide off the track and closing out strongly in mare’s company. Against all comers last week, she was strong to the line for 2nd behind MANILA PLAYBOY and she can arrive with the right trip. THREE IN HEAVEN (1) started from the second line over this trip last start and soon settled in the 1x1 trail and was solid to the line behind WILL THE WIZARD. Left flat the start prior when the pace went on, he has the gate to burrow through and there looks an absence of pressure to the outside. BEAU CISHLOM (8) ended his chances with an error last start which had followed a half-neck 2nd from the pocket trail. This is tougher but he will have the cosy trip in behind the speed. COURAGEOUS SAINT (12) lands the car park but has a strong finish when saved. Making good metres to grab the silver behind THE IDEAL DANCER last start, look for him wide out in the stretch.
SELECTIONS: PELOSI (2), THREE IN HEAVEN (1), BEAU CISHLOM (8), COURAGEOUS SAINT (12) SUGGESTED BET: PELOSI (2) to win
RACE TWO Tackling the less preferred 2138m trip last starts, HEMSWORTH (10) was unlucky not to have claimed an outright win after being hampered in the stretch. Still able to finish with a shared win via a dead-heat, he might just have shown he is at his best off the speed and this looks within reach. GOOD AS IT GETS (1) was sent to sit parked last start from gate 4 over the 2138m and doing the heavy lifting was game in defeat when just a head from the winner. Only 7m away two starts back, he lands the gate to throw down the challenge. OBI ONE (9) tackled the strong 58-70 final last start where he was trying to make some metres in the closing stages as SUMOMENTSOMEWHERE continued his heater. Runner-up in both prior outings, he can join in. FALCONS (6) has placed in 2 of his past 3 starts, the latest here last week when trying to make a closing play when 2m in arrears of the winner. Beaten a lip two starts back, he can be chiming in.
SELECTIONS: HEMSWORTH (10), GOOD AS IT GETS (1), OBI ONE (9), FALCONS (6) SUGGESTED BET: HEMSWORTH (10) to win
RACE THREE This up to 90 Final is flush with front line speed and the early tactics will go a long way to deciding the winner. In super form ADAM CROCKER (5) has 4 wins from his past 5 attempts, the latest when gripping on to claim his heat. Power running a 51.3 mile two starts back, he is flying. UNCLE SHANK (4) will take further benefit from his latest appearance where he was second up from a spell. Taking them all the way in his heat with an effortless all the way victory, it followed a narrow 2nd when resuming after starting from outside the front line. He will be flying off the arm. WITH THE BAND (7) has caught the eye at her past two starts after returning from a spell three runs back. Making the closing dive on ADAM CROCKER last start to be an eyelash away, the gate hurts. BOMBADIER JUJON (2) should get some confidence from his last start victory where he took every inch of the stretch to arrive on the line. Tucked in just behind the action, he can chime in. SELECTIONS: ADAM CROCKER (5), UNCLE SHANK (4), WITH THE BAND (7), BOMBADIER JUJON (2) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE FOUR A capacity filed over the long 2647m trip, and the added intrigue of the standing start conditions make this an open contest. MACH SHARD (14) attacked the line hard over the 2300m at Menangle last start to be 6m from the winner. Four starts back he claimed the Wagga Cup and with winning experience from the tapes, he can arrive. COLT THIRTY ONE (9) made a mess of the start last time out over this trip and was soon a long way from the leader. With lick closing splits chasing the speed as TURN IT UP blitzed them in the closing stages, the run was full of merit. With a safe getaway, he can look to land in the right spot to challenge. L L COOL J (12) started in red figures last start and his chances were over when the tapes released, and he made a complete mess of it. Huge in running 3rd, he just needs to step to be in the mix. MISTERFREEZE (6) has placed at his past two starts, the latest behind TURN IT UP where he followed the cheap runs. Placed in both attempts from the tapes, he will be big odds but can sneak a minor, in a field where plenty of runners have chances to finish in the money with the right trip. SELECTIONS: MACH SHARD (14), COLT THIRTY ONE (9), L L COOL J (12), MISTERFREEZE (6) SUGGESTED BET: MACH SHARD (14) to win
RACE FIVE On the back-up from Friday where he meets a hot field, STREITKID (5) has good early hustle off the arm and can look to fire some early bullets. Carving out a strong mile in front four runs back where he defeated subsequent new track record setter BLACKSADANCE, he can put the power on here. JILLIBY KING FU (7) will be first up since January 2020 and since that last start has also had 30 foals hit the ground. The multiple G1 winner has had two trials in readiness, the first a steady hit out at Penrith. Now 8YO, he slots into this veteran’s event nicely and class will take him a long way first up. SO BOBS YOUR UNCLE (1) is a consistent performer and cashed in from the 1x1 trail last start when swooping over the top of them. He might get shuffled back but can chime in up the lane. LOMBO HEAVEN (3) was asked to do it the tough way last start when sitting parked and was game to be 6m in arrears of the winner. He can get forward again here to feature. SELECTIONS: STREITKID (5), JILLIBY KING FU (7), SO BOBS YOUR UNCLE (1), LOMBO HEAVEN (3) SUGGESTED BET: STREITKID (5) to win
RACE SIX Finishing as the runner-up in three successive starts following his return, KASHED UP (6) could not overcome gate 7 last start and was left chasing as ADAM CROCKER carved it out in front. Runner-up to MANILA PLAYBOY the start prior, he has the wide gate but looks to have the class edge. CALL ME KEITH (3) faced a second line gate last time out in a strong Band 5 event and he did not get the smoothest passage to the wire. The result may show a 9th, yet his individual splits were slick in 54.71 and 27.85. With the improved alley, he can throw down the challenge. HARPS (1) will take benefit from his latest outing where he was resuming from a spell. Eased from gate 5 to secure position, he was soon deep in the pack. Settling closer, he can feature. OUR BONDI BEACH (8) loves the pegs and from this alley looks set to be three back at worst and can be searching in the stretch. A winner up the lane two starts back, he is a place hope. SELECTIONS: KASHED UP (6), CALL ME KEITH (3), HARPS (1), OUR BONDI BEACH (8) SUGGESTED BET: KASHED UP (6) to win
RACE SEVEN After last week’s QBRED 3YO Breeders Classic, this week’s open event looks even stronger to give SPEAK THE TRUTH (4) the chance to further enhance his credentials. Dictating in front last week at the 2138m to score and remain undefeated in five this term, this is another step, but he is up to it. DANGERZONE (3) was first up in seven weeks in last week’s Breeders race where he faced a second line gate. Waiting to get taken further into the race than he ultimately was, the last 150m was sharp as he attacked the line. He can throw down the challenge from this alley. MR IBIZA (1) is the big query runner, arriving for the McCarthy barn as a three-time NZ winner. Unseen in any public workouts since arriving in Aus, he warrants respect and is aided by the gate. TEDDY DISCO (8) was not suited here last week when obliged to sit parked and roll the sleeves. Fighting gamely to be 8m in arrears of SPEAK THE TRUTH. He will be probing for gaps here. SELECTIONS: SPEAK THE TRUTH (4), DANGERZONE (3), MR IBIZA (1), TEDDY DISCO (8) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE EIGHT Placed at her past three in succession, MISDEMEANOR (1) can look to go one better here and land the victory. Trying to take them all the way last start, she led until the closing stride as BOMBADIER JUJON hit the target up the passing lane. Back to her own sex, she can grip on to take this. BONNIES A ROCKIN (2) started from gate 1 last time out and had the early hustle until releasing when TALENT TO SPARE moved up to assume control. With the cosy trip thereafter, she was able to land the winning shot up the passing lane. Settling close to the action, she can issue the challenge. GIRL FROM OZ (6) has no favours from the wide gate as she steps out for the first time following her 4YO APG victory. Holding on for bronze the start prior in a mare’s qualifier, she is in the mix. WHICH HUNT (3) fired off the arm from gate 4 here two starts back and was able to hold on for a narrow victory. Fading in front last time out as PELOSI arrived, she can be thereabouts in this. SELECTIONS: MISDEMEANOR (1), BONNIES A ROCKIN (2), GIRL FROM OZ (6), WHICH HUNT (3) SUGGESTED BET: MISDEMEANOR (1) to win
RACE NINE After a dominant performance first up in the Trotters Marathon four starts back, WATTS UP MAJESTIC (4) has been turned over as an odds-on favourite in all three runs since, two of those when making errors at crucial moments. He has the class to take this, can his manners hold up? VAN SANK (5) is in super form, claiming his past four in succession, the latest at the 2138m mobile trip when firing off the arm and leading throughout. Finding the front from gate 4 over the mobile mile two starts back before taking a seat and then finishing best, he can look for the handful. SIR FAHRENHEIT (10) will take further benefit from his latest outing where he was resuming from a spell and closed out for the bronze behind VAN SANK. With the right trail he can feature in career start 100. GARLAND GREENE (6) was huge in defeat here last week, grabbing 4th after blowing the start horrifically from the 40m back tape and then finishing just 20m from the winner. He is right in the fight. SELECTIONS: WATTS UP MAJESTIC (4), VAN SANK (5), SIR FAHRENHEIT (10), GARLAND GREENE (6) SUGGESTED BET: WATTS UP MAJESTIC (4) to win
RACE TEN Back for another Qld campaign and back with Chris Frisby, JENDEN STRIKE (2) will be resuming from a spell following her last outing at Menangle in January. Opening the pipes with a smart trial here 10 days ago that has already produced winners, she has the gate to strike fresh. BAKER CREEK (4) is on the back-up from Tuesday where she took the trail from gate 1 before finding the open space to charge home and claim victory. A beaten fav two starts back at Redcliffe when finishing 3m in arrears of the winner, she can be close enough to make a challenge. NOR WESTA (1) returns to Qld for visiting trainer Dean Chapple and brings 2 wins in 4 starts here at The Creek. Luckless last start in the Hunter G1 Final, she has the gate to make a play. BEJIGGITY (5) was taking her first look at the big deck here two starts back when beaten an eyelash. Back to her won age last week when grabbing the bronze in the fillies Breeders Classic behind RACY ROXY, she can feature again. SELECTIONS: JENDEN STRIKE (2), BAKER CREEK (4), NOR WESTA (1), BEJIGGITY (5) SUGGESTED BET: JENDEN STRIKE (2) to win
RACE ELEVEN Yet to draw closer than gate 5 in his four career starts, HOLD ONTO YA BLING (5) will need to negotiate the tricky alley once again. Eased last week from this same alley, he was making good metres over the closing stages to grab 3rd behind MULLUM AXEL. In an open contest, he can arrive. MULLUM AXEL (8) capitalised from gate 1 last start in the Breeders Classic when leading off the arm and then keeping them chasing to open his account with the Listed victory. A half-neck away the start prior when unable to gun down REGAZZO DI TILLY, he has the second line options to challenge. REGAZZO DI TILLY (6) was trying to chase MULLUM AXEL last start but could not reel him in when a half-neck in arrears. That was off the three-day back up from winning and he can feature again. WISPER A SECRET (7) has been placed in both career starts to date, the latest when chasing home behind THE TAX CULLECTOR to grab the silver. Not far away on debut, he has podium claims. SELECTIONS: HOLD ONTO YA BLING (5), MULLUM AXEL (8), REGAZZO DI TILLY (6), WISPER A SECRET (7) SUGGESTED BET:
