RACE ONE

With just the front line in this field of one-win pacers, the two-year-old’s might just have enough edge to quinella the event. FREE THINKER (1) is on the back-up from Tuesday where he had little trouble in leading and then was never headed, ripping out a smart 27.3 closer to score by 11m.

QUEENSLANDER (7) was a game 3rd at his second race start after working hard in the run where the pace was strong time and franked that effort last start when powering home over the top to a 9m margin to open his account. The gate stings but he can be issuing the closing challenge.

SWOOPING EAGLE (3) was a debut winner at Redcliffe where he overcame gate 6 and was able to descend on them wide off the track and pull away to take an 11m margin. He looks to have ability.

JADES DIAMOND (2) was resuming from a long break last week after finishing a half-neck on debut back in December of 2021. Still green but able to lead throughout, she can chime in here.

SELECTIONS: FREE THINKER (1), QUEENSLANDER (7), SWOOPING EAGLE (3), JADES DIAMOND (2)
SUGGESTED BET: Flexi Trifecta 1 / 3-7 / 2-3-7

RACE TWO

Looking well placed from the 10m tape in this line-up, LEESA CASTELTON (8) can chase down her 2nd victory here at The Creek in 4 attempts. Striking trouble first up in the State, she then darted between runners to score a smart win second up. Only 4m away last start, this looks within reach.

KENNY KEKO (3) rolled forward from the 30m impost last time out and working her way to the chair then proved too strong for her opponents to claim a 2m margin. A beaten fav behind SUGARINSPICE two back, starting off the front tape is a huge help in this line up and she can throw it down.

THE REAPER (2) took the trail after finding the poles early here two starts back where he was then midfield to LEESA CASTLETON. Safe from the tapes, he can be handy enough to make a play.

KAPAI (1) has placed in 2 of his past 4, both of those coming from the mobile. Back to the front-line tape is a benefit here and if stepping cleanly can give plenty of cheek from where he likes it best.

SELECTIONS: LEESA CASTELTON (8), KENNY KEKO (3), THE REAPER (2), KAPAI (1)
SUGGESTED BET: LEESA CASTELTON (8) to win

RACE THREE

A tricky one to iron out here made no easier by the barrier where the front line lacks any great speed. That might set it up for GO JO JOLT (7) to charge up early to get across and look to replicate her all the way victory at Redcliffe two runs back from gate 2. In an open race, she is worth a ticket.

SUBTLE ADVICE (2) is amid a win drought that dates to June 2021 and has been nearer the tail than the pointy end at his past few. But a return to a tight alley here on the front line might just be the catalyst for him to challenge after wide or second line gates recently.

KEAYANG SPONGE BOB (10) started from this same gate last start where he settled in the running line to come with one run to grab 3rd behind JILLIBY GIZMO. A similar scenario can prevail here.

MISTER DECORUM (9) tried to take them all the way here last start but wilted and was banished to the trials for the effort. With the return ticket and the trail trip, he can bounce back into the money.

SELECTIONS: GO JO JOLT (7), SUBTLE ADVICE (2), KEAYANG SPONGE BOB (10), MISTER DECORUM (9)
SUGGESTED BET: GO JO JOLT (7) to win

RACE FOUR

PRESS STATEMENT (5)
darted across from gate 3 here last week to take control and setting a strong tempo out in front, was only collared in the closing stages when ARCHILES got off his back to land the closing blow. Buried from inside the second line two back, he is going well enough to take this.

MAFFIOSO GIRL (6) started from the second line last start where she was angled to the poles and trying to make closing metres behind the smart 2YO CHEER LEADER. Obliged to work hard in the run two starts back, she might need to graft it out again here but still looks up to the challenge.

IM LOKI (1) likes to get forward and roll and with the inside advantage will be trying to burrow through to keep them wide. A beaten fav last start from the front, he is in the mix once again.

PEBBLE SANDS (9) was a winner here five runs back when darting across from gate 5 to take them all the way. Out of the money in 4 attempts since, he did it tough last start but can chime in here.

SELECTIONS: PRESS STATEMENT (5), MAFFIOSO GIRL (6), IM LOKI (1), PEBBLE SANDS (9)
SUGGESTED BET: PRESS STATEMENT (5) to win

RACE FIVE

Thereabouts without landing a winning blow in recent starts, AYE AYE CAPTAIN (10) finds the right type of contest to bounce back into winning form. Buried from inside the second line last start, he was out and chasing hard in the stretch to be just 1m in arrears of the winner. He can arrive here.

BRAEVIEW FELLA (1) was runner-up here two starts back from this same gate when taking the early trail and then trying to make the closing play when 4m in arrears of the winner NONE GRATER Luckless last start when snookered away and finishing 6m from the winner, he can make a challenge.

LOOKS JUST RIGHT (3) will be further tightened from his latest outing where he was second up from a spell. Asked to hang tough when parked from gate 5, he can find the pegs here to feature.

FORGIVE ME (9) grabbed 2nd behind the in-form LONDON LADY at Redcliffe two starts back and then scored here last start in a race like this. Despite the second line she can be chiming in.

SELECTIONS: AYE AYE CAPTAIN (10), BRAEVIEW FELLA (1), LOOKS JUST RIGHT (3), FORGIVE ME (9)
SUGGESTED BET: AYE AYE CAPTAIN (10) to win

RACE SIX

Missing the money 6 times from his 22 career starts, 4 of those have been in the last 5 race outings for AWAYWEGO (5). A beaten fav two starts back when forced to graft it out first over when 2m from ROCKNROLL CLASSIC, he was down the line last start in a qualifier. Despite a potentially sticky gate, he can turn things around.

BETTORS HOPE (3) missed the money for the first time since arriving in Qld here last time out after retreating from gate 6 over the 2138m. Back in the pack and trying to chime in as the fav, he had to settle for a midfield finish, which followed a swooping win. With the right trip he can bounce back.

FRANCO MACHO (2) was first up from a spell last time out when buried in the run from a second line gate. Attacking the line in smart fashion once seeing gaps, he can feature again here second up.

HIPSTAR (9) was out of business last start in a scrimmage that saw him then finish at the tail of the field. Runner-up to the flying MOLLIESMARYELLE two back, he can be joining in down the stretch.

SELECTIONS: AWAYWEGO (5), BETTORS HOPE (3), FRANCO MACHO (2), HIPSTAR (9)
SUGGESTED BET:  AWAYWEGO (5) to win

RACE SEVEN

Taking good benefit from his last start where he was resuming from a spell, ALTA REVELRY (3) finds the right type of conditions. Forced to park out at Redcliffe first up, he was 7m in arrears in sharp time. He finds the gate to get across to the poles here and from the front give them the target.

EVERYTHING HAPPENS (9) found an easy lead last time out at the 2138m trip and was keeping them rolling in front when holding 3rd behind MAGICAL MAYA. Runner-up two starts back behind subsequent winner CANT BLUFF YOU. Racing consistently in recent outings, he can challenge again.

BETTING ORIGIN (4) should appreciate a return to the front line after facing the second line at his past three starts. A beaten fav last time, he was too tough from gate 10 two back and can feature.

STOKER ACE (2) was first up in six weeks last time out where he was taken to the rear before trying to work between runners. Wide off the track in some smart closing panels, the improved gate helps.

SELECTIONS: ALTA REVELRY (3), EVERYTHING HAPPENS (9) BETTING ORIGIN (4), STOKER ACE (2)
SUGGESTED BET: ALTA REVELRY (3) to win

RACE EIGHT

A tricky event to close the card made tougher by the 2138m trip being out of the comfort zone of many of these. A winner two back at the mile, WHATA TERROR (10) eased from gate 6 into the running line and then had enough closing speed to score. Chasing CHEER LEADER last start, with a cart into the contest he might just pinch this despite being winless at the middle trip.

PUSHINIT UPHILL (4) had the speed to keep them wide last start from gate 1 and was fighting them off deep into the stretch where only the smart 2YO CHEER LEADER was able to get the better of him by a head margin. Fitter for that run where he was second up, he can issue the challenge here.

ONLY ONE DON (6) has hit some nice form with a pair of wins and a 2nd from his past three attempts. Too slick out in front last start in a career PB, the wide gate dents the chances.

CHAL BE (12) has been runner-up at his past two in succession, the latest when taking the snipers shot up the passing lane from the pocket trail but missing the target. He can descend and if it is a slog fest to the wire, have the finishing power.

SELECTIONS: WHATA TERROR (10), PUSHINIT UPHILL (4), ONLY ONE DON (6), CHAL BE (12)
SUGGESTED BET:
