RACE ONE FAVREAU (9) has been in good touch in recent weeks and last start was able to convert that to victory when sent forward from gate 6 to hang tough and graft out a 1m margin. 5m in arrears of RAANI the start prior, the gate stings but he is going well enough to overcome the impediment. FLO RYDA (8) went back from gate 3 to settle four fence at the sprint trip two starts back and then last start from gate 5 was sent to sit parked at the middle trip. The second line gate makes it a trick spot but with the right trail through behind a good beginner, can be in position to challenge. SUNNY COVE (5) took on a much tougher 70Heat last start and from the trail held on for the bronze behind SQUARE DEALER. The wide gate makes it a tougher ask here. TORQUE WITH ESTEEM (2) burrowed through from gate 1 last start and was looking to see it out when collared in a blanket finish to miss the money but only be a half-neck in arrears. SELECTIONS: FAVREAU (9), FLO RYDA (8), SUNNY COVE (5), TORQUE WITH ESTEEM (2) SUGGESTED BET: FAVREAU (9) to win
RACE TWO TEACHERS PET (1) was a Marburg winner two starts back when pressing the issue from gate 2 to set the speed and take them all the way. Asked to hang tough outside the leader on the grass last start, she took one closing dive to be just a half-head away. From the gate, she looks to get every chance. BLACKJACK BETH (7) faced gate 6 here three starts back and after easing to the running line was making some nice closing metres when 2nd to DIEGO DELGADO. Buried two back, she was again closing nicely when 5m away last start and will be stalking the speed ready to strike. TRACER BULLET (5) powered over the top of them from gate 9 last start to claim a 2m margin at the sprint trip. The wide gate does him no favours to stake his claim. LIFEINHEAVEN (9) has the tricky gate to overcome and will be coming with a closing raid. Grabbing the bronze from this gate two starts back, look for her searching for the runs. SELECTIONS: TEACHERS PET (1), BLACKJACK BETH (7), TRACER BULLET (5), LIFEINHEAVEN (9) SUGGESTED BET: TEACHERS PET (1) to win
RACE THREE
EASTBRO TEX (1) was building towards another victory after three successive placings. Starting from outside the second line last start, he came with a well-timed run to arrive over the top and claim a 4m margin. With slick moves off the arm, he gets his chance to dictate. ABBEY DIADEMA (7) was a winner here three starts back when finishing over the top to claim a narrow margin. Out of the money in both runs since, the latest when starting from two off the second line and unable to get warm in the closing stages. She will stalk the speed here. HEAR THE CALL (8) started from the second line last start and had his momentum halted when finishing 8m in arrears of the winner. A beaten fav two back, he will be tracking into the contest. GO JO JOLT (3) has hit the board at her past three in succession, the latest at Marburg when setting the speed but just failing to see it out. Settling handy can see her be thereabouts. SELECTIONS: EASTBRO TEX (1), ABBEY DIADEMA (7), HEAR THE CALL (8), GO JO JOLT (3) SUGGESTED BET: EASTBRO TEX (1) to win
RACE FOUR
ROYAL PRINCESS (2) darted across from gate 3 to set the speed here two starts back and from the front was in front deep into the stretch, only to be collared by PRESS STATEMENT. Just a half-neck away on the Kilcoy kikuyu last start, she gets her chance to see this out. TORQUE WRITER (3) has found a new lease on life with 3 wins in her past 4 starts. Making an error when chasing the hat-trick two runs back, she bounced back the best way possible when charging over the top to a half-neck margin. Settling handy, she again throw down a challenge. MYSTICAL JAZZ (5) will be tightened from her latest outing where she was second up from a spell. Ending her last campaign with successive wins, the wide alley here does her no favours. BETTING BARON (1) maps for the cosy trip in behind the speed here and having been no closer than gate 4 at his past 11 starts, should relish the easy passage. He will be probing for openings. SELECTIONS: ROYAL PRINCESS (2), TORQUE WRITER (3), MYSTICAL JAZZ (5), BETTING BARON (1) SUGGESTED BET: ROYAL PRINCESS (2) to win
RACE FIVE FIVE STAR GEM (3) should appreciate a front line alley after facing the second line at his past four in succession. Chasing home last start for the bronze behind SAN MAREA, he was making a closing rally the start prior when just a neck from the winner GEORGEZILLA. He can issue a challenge in this. MY GIRL MANDY (1) found the ideal conditions here last week and from gate 1 capitalised to take them all the way, holding on for a narrow margin. Taking benefit from that outing, she can burrow through again and with some confidence be looking to hold them off. THE GROGMOTHER (7) should take good benefit from her return to the track last start when first up since September. With the chance of an economical trip, she can be searching for gaps to feature. ARTFUL JACK (9) was sent to the post as fav last start from gate 4 and after finding the 1x1 trail, did not get the smoothest passage. The second line makes it a tough ask. SELECTIONS: FIVE STAR GEM (3), MY GIRL MANDY (1), THE GROGMOTHER (7), ARTFUL JACK (9) SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-3-7-9
RACE SIX THREE ONE FOUR (2) will take benefit from her last start where she was second up from a spell. Resuming with a 3m 3rd to FILLY THIRTEEN after trying to take them all the way, she faded last start after setting the tempo. She has the speed to lead and will be trying to fight them off. OLLIE ONE SHOT (4) ended a run of frustrations to open his account last start at attempt 10 by pressing forward from gate 6 to dictate and take them all the way. With the winning confidence and added experience, he can get forward again here to throw it down. SUNRISE RUBY (9) made her first appearance in Qld a winning one when charging home in the closing stages to claim a narrow victory. 6m away to grab the bronze second up, she can descend. SPICE BOY (8) was trying to take them all the way two starts back when collared in the closing strides. Seeing it out last time at Marburg, the gate makes it tough but he has podium claims. SELECTIONS: THREE ONE FOUR (2), OLLIE ONE SHOT (4), SUNRISE RUBY (9), SPICE BOY (8) SUGGESTED BET: THREE ONE FOUR (2) to win
RACE SEVEN MORETTA (1) returns from a spell to start her 3YO term after missing a win during her maiden season that netted five minors. With a sound preparatory trial and a last start 3rd behind BOLD MEDLEY JUJON, she lands the gate to chase the account opener fresh. SHE DAZZLES (5) has a few tricks that need ironing out, but in her three starts to date, has shown the ability that a win is not far away. Charging home last start to grab the silver behind SUNRISE RUBY when only a neck away, if she can pace cleanly throughout, she can throw down the challenge. TAKE COURAGE (7) is a 2YO tackling the older horses first up but secures the map to be tucked away and awaiting some gaps to make a play. She will be probing. JUSTUNDERTHELIMIT (3) will take further benefit from her latest offering when second up from a spell. Under 2m from the winner SNACK TIME ROCKS to grab 3rd, she can be chiming in. SELECTIONS: MORETTA (1), SHE DAZZLES (5), TAKE COURAGE (7), JUSTUNDERTHELIMIT (3) SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-3-5-7
RACE EIGHT FEELING THE POWER (2) has faced a string of tough gates, with his past two from outside the front line which followed a pair from inside the second line when buried. With the improved gate, he can look to get forward and near the action will get his chance to capitalise. MISTER WOODPORT (4) is another that will relish an improvement of fortunes to snare a barrier after 10 of his past 11 have been from the second line and the other from gate 6. Fading after a tough trip last start, he had placed his previous four in succession and can issue a challenge. TORQUE IN CONTROL (7) was locked away inside the second line last start and never found the space to issue a challenge. Likely tucked away again, she will be searching for the gaps. PERFECT FEELING (4) was not suited last start at Armidale when asked to hang tough when parked which followed a midfield return from the second line. With early bullets to fire, he can feature. SELECTIONS: FEELING THE POWER (2), MISTER WOODPORT (4), TORQUE IN CONTROL (7), PERFECT FEELING (4) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE NINE CHIEF JUJON (2) has had two runs back from a spell and finished down the line on each occasion. Beaten by the outside second line when resuming, he tried to make a run last start but could not sprint when needed. With the chance to take control from this gate, he can turn his fortunes. HUNK OF SPUNK (6) is given no favours from the outside paint at his first look at the track but brings some handy numbers. Runner-up last start at Tamworth, he is a podium hope. SHESHERZ (1) had the inside second line last start and faded in the latter stages as MY GIRL MANDY saw it out from the front. With the soft trip again, she can look to make a play for the podium. EMMALEEN (7) was runner-up in her first two runs back from a spell before finding the trail last start but unable to sprint with them down the back when 7m in arrears. If a gap arrives in time she can feature. SELECTIONS: CHIEF JUJON (2), HUNK OF SPUNK (6), SHESHERZ (1), EMMALEEN (7) SUGGESTED BET: CHIEF JUJON (2) to win
RACE TEN WINDY HILL WALLY (2) took on a qualifier here last start when settled in the running line from gate 6 and was grafting it out to the line over this trip as MISTY CREEK arrived. 5m from MOSSDALE MAC two starts back, he has the gate to be up on the speed to stake his claim. ARNOLD STREET (1) is in search of a hat-trick after wins at the sprint trip here and then at Armidale. Overcoming the second line to arrive last start with 3m to spare, he overcame gate 6 to score here two back. With all the options from this alley, the big concern is his middle trip record. STOMPEM (7) used the passing lane last start to issue the closing raid when a half-head from the winner MISS DAYTONA. A winner in a 70Heat here five back, he has the second line options. LA SAFRON (3) has placed at his past three starts, the latest when grabbing the silver behind ROCKSLIDE. Only a head away over this trip three back, he is in the mix here. SELECTIONS: WINDY HILL WALLY (2), ARNOLD STREET (1), STOMPEM (7), LA SAFRON (3) SUGGESTED BET: WINDY HILL WALLY (2) to win
