RACE ONE Making a solid impression in both Qld starts to date, LORD ZARIAS (11) receives no favours from the tough gate, but he looks to have the class to overcome the hurdle. Powering over the top of them to claim the victory last start at this trip, he worked hard when first up. In a strong race, he can arrive. APHORISM (4) faced a second line gate here midweek and was making strong metres int eh closing stages to grab the silver behind HIPSTAR, finishing 4m in arrears. Forced to hang tough when parked here three starts back outside the airborne KANYE CRUSADER, he can get forward to challenge. THE CROUPIER (2) tackled a midweek mile event last start when trying to take them all the way but ultimately finishing 5m adrift of OUR MAJOR DAY. He has the early speed to take options. LYRICAL GENIUS (9) eased to the poles from gate 2 last time out and buried in the run was searching for the openings when 8m from HOT AND TREACHEROUS. With a smother run, he can be chiming in. SELECTIONS: LORD ZARIAS (11), APHORISM (4), THE CROUPIER (2), LYRICAL GENIUS (9) SUGGESTED BET: LORD ZARIAS (11) to win
RACE TWO SPEAK WITH SAM (3) has upset the barrier gods at some stage, having faced a second line gate in 7 of his past 10 starts, landing gates 5, 6 and 7 in those other three. Winning from gate 5 here three back, he closed strongly last start for 3rd to BOMBADIER JUJON. In an open race, he is up to the task. REGULUS (1) lands the gate to be prominent regardless of which differing scenario looks to be thrown up in this wide-open battle. A winner here three starts back, he was only 4m away last time and can pinch this. KARLOO BRADLEY (7) is afforded no favours from the outside alley here after darting between runners to grab the silver here last week behind MR MCLAREN. He is a rough podium hope. HESTON ZOOLANDER (8) was sent forward with purpose last start from a wide gate to take control. A sapping sub 27 opening panel told in the closing stages as he finished 9m away. He will probe. SELECTIONS: SPEAK WITH SAM (3), REGULUS (1), KARLOO BRADLEY (7), HESTON ZOOLANDER (8) SUGGESTED BET: SPEAK WITH SAM (3) to win
RACE THREE Having looked to have found the ideal conditions two starts back, it all went south for GOLIGHTLY (2) after he was forced out of the race with a gear issue. Eased to the poles from gate 5 last start and never a factor thereafter, he finds suitable conditions from this alley to chase a drought breaker. CAMANCHI WARRIOR (3) has had just the four starts since arriving in Qld where he has drawn the second line twice, gate 6 and gate 7. Sectionally super here last week when rattling home behind SWEDISH STARLET, he grabbed 3rd to SLIP THE HUNDY two back. The improved gate is a huge asset. OUR ACTION MAN (1) landed this gate in the 70Final here last week and from the trail could no go with them in the latter stages. Back to this grade with the right trip can see him in the mix. FATHER BOB (9) was a midweek winner here two starts back at his first Qld appearance when finishing over the top. Midfield last start from the running line, he can follow through to feature. SELECTIONS: GOLIGHTLY (2), CAMANCHI WARRIOR (3), OUR ACTION MAN (1), FATHER BOB (9) SUGGESTED BET: GOLIGHTLY (2) to win
RACE FOUR
Making his first appearance for new trainer Nathan Dawson here last week, MY ULTIMATE BYRON (4) was pressing through from the second line but ultimately was left exposed for the trip as FUTURE ASSURED carved out a monster mile. Dead game in holding 2nd, he can bounce back with vengeance. ALTA REVELRY (1) faced a second line gate in the same contest claimed by FUTURE ASSURED here last week and was making some closing metres wide off the track, which was not the place to be chasing given the tempo. With the early hustle to dictate his position, he is right in the fight. DANGERZONE (7) is given no favours on his return from a spell. Sent South last season for a tilt at the Vic Derby, he resumes here off a pair of sound trials and has the class to be prominent first up. REASON TO BE (3) made his first Qld appearance with a narrow 2nd at Redcliffe and followed that with a gritty win after sitting parked. Too slippery in the closing stages on this deck last start, he can feature. SELECTIONS: MY ULTIMATE BYRON (4), ALTA REVELRY (1), DANGERZONE (7), REASON TO BE (3) SUGGESTED BET: MY ULTIMATE BYRON (4) to win
RACE FIVE Having yet to claim a qualifying win, MR MCLAREN (1) steps up to Band 5 grade here and will be hoping that the conundrum of map v class can be won by map in this contest. Taking them all the way in a 70Final last start with a 53.1 PB mile, he has the gate to chase the repeat. TIMS A TROOPER (6) was the lone runner off the second line last start in the APG 4YO Final and making his run tried to match it with SPEAK THE TRUTH, but had to settle for the silver, 6m in arrears. Taking benefit from that run where he was first up in 8 weeks, he looms large. THE HUMMER (8) is chasing a hat-trick of victories after successive wins at the mile. Darting through on the passing lane last start to score, he can secure a similar trip here and be probing for gaps. DAZZLE ME (2) was beaten by the wide gate last start and after being wide early, retreated to the rear. Chasing as SLIP THE HUNDY dominated the start prior, he can be close enough to grab a minor. SELECTIONS: MR MCLAREN (1), TIMS A TROOPER (6), THE HUMMER (8), DAZZLE ME (2) SUGGESTED BET: MR MCLAREN (1) to win
RACE SIX Last seen in the 3YO Breeders Classic on May 21 last year, former star juvenile CAT KING COLE (3) will make a long-awaited return. Claiming the 3YO Bullion Final two starts back from gate 7, gate 12 was a hurdle too high in the Breeders before being forced out. With a pair of smart trials, she can make a winning return. RACY ROXY (2) makes her first appearance for her 4YO season following last start victory in a 3YO QBRED feature when claiming a half-head margin. Crowned the Qld 3YO Filly of the year for last season, she can settle handy from this gate and has the class to throw it down first up. BETTYS LASS (8) landed this same gate last week and was put out of business as the field was released by a galloping pole marker. With better luck, she can be probing for the openings. DELIGHTFUL LOU (4) makes her first appearance in close to 12 months after winning 3 of her 8 appearances during her 3YO season. Not asked for much at the trials, she can chime in first up. SELECTIONS: CAT KING COLE (3), RACY ROXY (2), BETTYS LASS (8), DELIGHTFUL LOU (4) SUGGESTED BET: CAT KING COLE (3) to win
RACE SEVEN Track record holder and 22-time winner on this deck BLACKSADANCE (7) resumes from a short spell after his last appearance here back in February. Taking them all the way over the 2138 on that occasion, he looked sharp in a recent standing start trial. Despite giving away some race fitness from the horrid gate, he can return in style. MACH DA VINCI (5) is perhaps just a rung below where he was at the end of last season and is proving a tricky read as to where exactly he is with his form. Collared after leading them up over the middle trip two starts back, forget his last run from the tapes off 20m. He gets the chance to bounce back. GOVERNOR JUJON (8) will have some early options as the lone runner off the second line and can be looking to break free of the pole trip. Sound to the line last start from the standing start, he has claims. SOEXTRA (1) is stepping up in grade again but comes up with the benefit of the inside gate. Eased from gate 6 last start to settle back in the pack, he can be tucked away here awaiting some space. SELECTIONS: BLACKSADANCE (7), MACH DA VINCI (5), GOVERNOR JUJON (8), SOEXTRA (1) SUGGESTED BET: BLACKSADANCE (7) to win
RACE EIGHT A mixed sex QBRED event that brings together a varied mix of ages. 3YO filly BRONSKI DELIGHT (3) is staring down a hat-trick of wins after finishing too powerfully here two starts back at the mile before backing it up with a Trot Rods 947 victory. Starting to build nicely, she can get forward for the threepeat. MY ULTIMATE LEVI (6) has had two runs since joining the Matt Elkins barn, the latest from this same gate. Sent forward and taking control, he led them deep into the stretch, only collared in the closing strides by REASON TO BE. 3rd to SPEAK THE TRUTH when resuming, he can throw it down. GOLDIES A DELIGHT (1) was making late ground in the stretch last start to get within a head of the winner after starting form the second line. The gate is a help as she steps up in grade here. APOLLO DREAMZ (9) was resuming from a spell here last week when tacking a strong 3YO event claimed by FOR REAL LIFE. A winner at his first three career starts, he can press through to chime in. SELECTIONS: BRONSKI DELIGHT (3), MY ULTIMATE LEVI (6), GOLDIES A DELIGHT (1), APOLLO DREAMZ (9) SUGGESTED BET: BRONSKI DELIGHT (3) to win
RACE NINE Undefeated in her two career starts to date, RYLEE RHAYNE BOW (4) has worked home off speed in both events to claim smart victories. Making a late raid from the 1x1 trail last start, it took her every last inch to claim the win over ELLIS STREET. With the right trip, she can claim the threepeat. BRONSKI ZULU (6) has missed the money just once thus far in his career, with that coming when tackling older horses. Strong to the line last start when 3rd behind RYLEE RHAYNE BOW, it followed a half-head 2nd to IRON CLAD in the APG Bullion Final. The gate stings but he is up to the challenge. ELLIS STREET (8) has been a model of consistency all season and last start sat parked and pushed the winner RYLEE RHAYNE BOW every step to be just a nostril short of victory. He will have options. IRON CLAD (7) showed the improvement from his debut outing into his second run to claim the APG Bullion Final. Making an error soon after the start in the Menangle Final, he has the ODM embargo to contend with. SELECTIONS: RYLEE RHAYNE BOW (4), BRONSKI ZULU (6), ELLIS STREET (8), IRON CLAD (7) SUGGESTED BET: RYLEE RHAYNE BOW (4) to win
RACE TEN Putting together a smart record since arriving with Shane Graham, RED TRIX (2) looks the one to beat again here where she can taker her record to 5 from 7 on this deck. Forcing the issue last start from gate 7 to take control and take them all the way and posting a big 19m margin, she can repeat. DELTA THREE (1) will take benefit from her latest appearance where she was returning from a seven-week hiatus. Shuffled to three back on the inside from this gate last week when fresh up, she made some late metres to grab 4th. Tucked in behind, she looks best placed to issue a challenge. JASPER (9) eased from gate 5 last start and settled on the poles when finishing midfield behind JENDEN STRIKE. It has been over 12 months since her last win, but she can be joining in here. MISS MUCHO (5) sat parked last start and was game in gripping on for the bronze behind JENDEN STRIKE. Runner-up to the flying KANYE CRUSADER the start prior, she has podium claims once again.
SELECTIONS: RED TRIX (2), DELTA THREE (1), JASPER (9), MISS MUCHO (5) SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 2 / 1-5 / 1-5-8-9
RACE ELEVEN
Sticking to the inside here last time out proved the winning move for L L COOL J (7) as he was able to get the saloon passage to claim a 2m margin. With solid figures from the tapes, he moves back a further 10 here which makes it a bigger ask back to the 2138, but this looks the right set up. ITS MR CLOONEY (2) tackled the 2647m stand two starts back where he was able to find his gear after a few skips and set the tempo in front. Leading until deep stretch before being collared by L L COOL J, he was not that far from HOT AND TREACHEROUS last start. He can press forward to challenge. FEELINGFORARAINBOW (6) was safely into stride here last week over this trip and soon found himself in front. With a steady opening half, he dialled it up over the closing stages to claim victory. He is in the mix again. BOMBARDIER JUJON (3) makes his debut form the tapes off the back of a passing lane win here last week in claiming a half-neck verdict. From the 10m, his chances will hinge on how he handles the start. SELECTIONS: L L COOL J (7), ITS MR CLOONEY (2), FEELINGFORARAINBOW (6), BOMBARDIER JUJON (3) SUGGESTED BET: L L COOL J (7) to win
