RACE ONE MAYWYNS LA NINA (4) is 1 from 1 here on The Triangle and lines up after finishing as the runner-up in 3 of her 4 starts this season. Just a head away from MISS FROUFROU last start in the APG Bullion Final, she was only a pimple away from that same filly in the heat. She is brilliant off the arm and can take her shot. ARODA (5) is an interesting addition to this contest, lining up fresh off a last start error when finishing rearward in a NSW Derby heat behind ALTA METEOR. Too strong over the AP 2138 two starts back, where he maps looks tough to decipher, but there is no doubting his class. HEZ ON THE BUZZER (3) was a winner here five runs back when making full use of the inside gate at the 2040 to lead throughout. He will be taking a good early shot here looking for a forward position. SELECTIONS: MAYWYNS LA NINA (4), ARODA (5), HEZ ON THE BUZZER (3) SUGGESTED BET: MAYWYNS LA NINA (4) to win
RACE TWO NEVADA YANKEE (4) can really fly the gate if required and under this format from this alley, can look to load the cannons early. Chasing down a hat-trick last start, he was eased from the tricky 2040 start point and never got warm as subsequent winner REASON TO BE arrived. This looks ideal. WONDERWOMAN JUJON (6) takes on the short course sprint for the first time and brings solid form and importantly, she has good numbers on this deck. 3rd behind the smart RED TRIX last start, she claimed a win at the AP mile two starts back and can be issuing a challenge here. PRESS STATEMENT (5) made the most of gate 1 last start when darting through to lead and was able to see it out with 3m to spare. He will need to chase here to make a play for the money. SELECTIONS: NEVADA YANKEE (4), WONDERWOMAN JUJON (6), PRESS STATEMENT (5) SUGGESTED BET: NEVADA YANKEE (4) to win
RACE THREE PLAYA BLANCA (2) found the ideal conditions here three starts back and was able to press on to the front and take them all the way. That was from this same gate over this trip and was followed with a close up 4th over the AP mile. Forcing the issue, she can look to see it out from the front. LUXURY LAD (1) burnt some petrol from this gate last start over the sprint trip before releasing for cover. Shuffled to three back, he eased off at the 400 but just lacked the zip to eat into the margin. Fitter again after three runs back from a spell, a soft trip behind the speed can see him challenge. NO DOUBT (9) eased from gate 6 over this trip three starts back when weaving a passage to the line to be just a neck from the winner PLAY BLANCA. A solid tempo will aid his chances of arriving. MISTER FONZI (8) is a newcomer to Qld that joins the Thurlow barn. A late bloomer that is still inexperienced, he has two wins and two seconds from just four starts. He stays under watch. SELECTIONS: PLAYA BLANCA (2), LUXURY LAD (1), NO DOUBT (9), MISTER FONZI (8) SUGGESTED BET: PLAYA BLANCA (2) to win
RACE FOUR
REDS STAR DEAL (2) tackled the 947 here last week and from the outside gate, eased early before closing out in nice order to garb the silver behind BRONSKI DELIGHT. Well supported from outside the front line over the AP mile the start prior when midfield, this looks well within his reach. HARLEY BLUE (8) has had four runs back from a spell this campaign, the latest when facing the steepest of grade rises when down the line behind SPEAK THE TRUTH. Runner-up in a second division mare’s qualifier the start prior, she can land the spot to issue a challenge in this line up. TOMMY BLIGH (1) has been racing consistently and was a Marburg winner when leading throughout three runs back. Game when 3m away last start at HQ, he has the gate to feature. GEIRANGER RAINBOWS (3) faced the second line last start and was sent around the field to sit parked and proved too strong in claiming a 2m margin. This is another step up, but she has claims. SELECTIONS: REDS STAR DEAL (2), HARLEY BLUE (8), TOMMY BLIGH (1), GEIRANGER RAINBOWS (3) SUGGESTED BET: REDS STAR DEAL (2) to win
RACE FIVE DIEGO DELGADO (1) tackled a much tougher contest over the AP mile three runs back and ended his chances soon after release when making an error. With two runs from gate 6, including a starchy effort when 3rd over this trip two back, he can look to capitalise from the gate to dictate. BATMAN BART (4) was wide off the track when chasing home for the bronze at Marburg three starts back. Too far back over the AP mile at his next run, he franked his sound form with a gritty win from the breeze here last start. From this same gate he can again press forward to throw it down. TINSEL TIARA (2) has had four starts since arriving in Qld, with two of those with the ODM embargo. Midfield last start after pressing forward to sit parked, a return to the main draw is a big plus. SHORT LEG SUE (8) cashed in for her first win of the season here last time out when burrowing through from gate 1 to take them all the way. Look for her joining in once again. SELECTIONS: DIEGO DELGADO (1), BATMAN BART (4), TINSEL TIARA (2), SHORT LEG SUE (8) SUGGESTED BET: DIEGO DELGADO (1) to win
RACE SIX DINOSAURUS REX (5) returns for NSW trainer Graham Betts after a successful winter mission in 2022. Under 2m from the winner at his latest appearance over the 2120 at Dubbo, he was a two-time winner on this deck last visit and finds the conditions to chalk up another one here. TORQUE IN CONTROL (9) eased from gate 5 last start before weaving a passage to the wire in finishing just 4m astern of the winner BATMAN BART. Her last win came on this deck from the second line and with the right trip, she can look to issue the challenge. JILLIBY GIZMO (4) was taken back from a wide gate tow starts back over the AP mile and was making late metres to finish midfield. Forget his last start from the tapes at Marburg, he has podium claims. GETALOADATHISGIRL (7) was in behind the leader here last start from this same gate and took a closing dive, only to come up a half-neck shy of victory. She will be searching for openings again. SELECTIONS: DINOSAURUS REX (5), TORQUE IN CONTROL (9), JILLIBY GIZMO (4), GETALOADATHISGIRL (7) SUGGESTED BET: DINOSAURUS REX (5) to win
RACE SEVEN SUNNY COVE (3) had a good dip for the front last start and after being repelled was able to find the space to drop in for the trail. Racing keenly thereafter, he beat himself when fading out as MADRIGAL took them all the way. If he can get to the front and relax in the run, he can take it. MULLUM BOY (8) was pushed forward from gate 5 last start and sitting parked was trying to stick on when 10m adrift of the winner. Runner-up from a peg trip here three runs back, with the right trail in the early stages to settle handy, he can be issuing a challenge. YOGI (6) looked to have found the ideal conditions from gate 1 here last week but threw his chances away with a starting error. Consequently, copping the ODM embargo, it’s a tougher ask this time. GOTTA DREAM (9) eased from gate 4 last start before powering home in the closing stages to claim his second career victory. Tempo will be his friend if chasing down a repeat performance. SELECTIONS: SUNNY COVE (3), MULLUM BOY (8), YOGI (6), GOTTA DREAM (9) SUGGESTED BET: SUNNY COVE (3) to win
RACE EIGHT FEELING THE POWER (5) sat at the rear of the field last week in the same race as BETTING BARON where he was angled back to the inside and running into a wall of traffic with nowhere to go. Rattling home to be a half-head away here two back, can this be the drought breaker. BETTING BARON (2) had this same gate last week and was able to press to the front over the 1780. With even splits in front, he was worried out of it in finishing 2nd as BATMAN BART claimed a 2m margin. He can get to the front once again and be gripping on to the wire. MY ULTIMATE HESTON (9) has been racing in nice touch and was rewarded on Monday at Marburg when finding the space to ease off from leaders back and claim victory. He can be chiming in again. SPORTY AZZ (8) was sent forward from the outside second line to sit parked in the early stages at Marburg on Monday before fading out. Placed his previous two, he has claims here. SELECTIONS: FEELING THE POWER (5), BETTING BARON (2), MY ULTIMATE HESTON (9), SPORTY AZZ (8) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE NINE SHESFEELINSPECIAL (1) eased to find the 1x1 trail last start and tried to make late ground when midfield behind RAWORTH GIRL. With better luck she could have been closer than the 4m margin here two starts back and from this gate she has the hustle and the options to capitalise. FIVE STAR GEM (7) held the pocket trail from inside the second line last time out and made on closing dive to be just a half-neck from the winner ROCKON ALLIE. Striking trouble two starts back in a stronger contest, he can stalk the speed again here and be ready to take the challenging shot. TEAM SPORT (2) found his race last start and burrowing through to protect the front was able to take them all the way to open the account. From the gate he can be thereabouts once again. ATOMIC PETE (6) has been on the ODM embargo for some time and has been facing the wide gates and going back at the start. A similar scenario will play out again here as he tries to chime in. SELECTIONS: SHESFEELINSPECIAL (1), FIVE STAR GEM (7), TEAM SPORT (2), ATOMIC PETE (6) SUGGESTED BET: SHESFEELINSPECIAL (1) to win
RACE TEN
SWEET RIPPIN (5) was taking her first look at Redcliffe here last start when making a starting error that saw her given the ODM embargo. Starting fav in that contest, she has since transferred to the Chantal Turpin stable and despite the wide gate, finds the right chance to breakthrough. ISLA AND ADDIE (6) tackled her own 2YO age in a race last time when eased to find position before hitting the line in smart order for the silver behind LEAVING A LEGACY. Asked to race tough when parked two starts back, finding position cheaply will aid her challenging chances. SKYGIRL (1) is another 2YO stepping up against the older performers and was a runner-up on debut from gate 1. Finding her own age too slick over the AP mile last start, back to this contest appeals. MORETTA (3) is still chasing the account opener after 20 attempts, but her recent efforts suggest she is getting closer. Forced to hang tough last start when 3rd to TEAM SPORT, she has claims again. SELECTIONS: SWEET RIPPIN (5), ISLA AND ADDIE (6), SKYGIRL (1), MORETTA (3) SUGGESTED BET: SWEET RIPPIN (5) to win
