RACE ONE
SHES IN LINE (8) is a five-start maiden that arrives with John McMullen from the North Island of NZ. Her run two starts back at Auckland where she was a close 2nd was the type of effort that suggest she can be opening her account in this line up. ENZED FLYER (2) grabbed the bronze on debut when finding the pocket trail and finishing 2m adrift of the winner. The second line followed by gate 5 at his latest start have given him the chance to gain some experience and with an improved gate can look to mount a challenge here. HURRIKANE JEWELS (7) started from inside the second line last start in a much tougher contest and finished nearer the rear after getting keen in the run. Settling and finding space will help her cause. EL LUCA (3) struck trouble last start, ending his chances. Making some nice metres in the closing stages two starts back, he has podium claims here. SELECTIONS: SHES IN LINE (8), ENZED FLYER (2), HURRIKANE JEWELS (7), EL LUCA (3) SUGGESTED BET: SHES IN LINE (8) to win
RACE TWO SHEZ GOT BLING (7) was making some nice metres in the closing stages last start when 6m from the winner VALLANI MAGIC over the AP mile. Closing smartly two starts back when 5m from IMA BIRUBI BOY, she can secure a soft trip and just needs a gap with some momentum to seize her chance. DATSINAHURRI (4) was a winner here seven starts back when starting deep into the red, sent forward from gate 3 and giving nothing else a look-in. Placed just once in the six runs since that victory, she faded last start after sitting parked, but it would be no surprise if she turns it around. RISKY BUZINESS (2) was snagged back from gate 3 last time out and was too far back to get warm in the closing stages. A winner here four back, he can be thereabouts. CHOCOLATE NORMAN (6) was sent around them from the second line last start to sit parked and after a tough trip kept grinding it out in grabbing 3rd. He might need to hang tough again here. SELECTIONS: SHEZ GOT BLING (7), DATSINAHURRI (4), RISKY BUZINESS (2), CHOCOLATE NORMAN (6) SUGGESTED BET: SHEZ GOT BLING (7) win/place
RACE THREE UNDERTHEKILT (1) lands all the options from this alley and should appreciate a return to the front line after his past two have been from the second line. Buried last start and not too far from the winner, he strikes a field where many of these will have questionable credentials at the 2040m trip. DUKE (2) was beaten by the outside second line last start when settled near the rear and unable to get warm in the closing stages. Runner-up from gate 1 at Marburg two starts back as THE GROGMOTHER dictated in front, his record at the middle trip is the concern. BEEF CITY STARZZZ (7) retreated from gate 5 last start to settle rearward and was making some good metres in the closing stages. After four runs back from a spell, he can chime in off the soft trip. JANG PEL (9) has placed at his past three starts, the latest following a pole trip at The Creek when 11m from BARKWAY MARGARET. The gate makes it tricky, but he can be chiming in. SELECTIONS: UNDERTHEKILT (1), DUKE (2), BEEF CITY STARZZZ (7), JANG PEL (9) SUGGESTED BET: UNDERTHEKILT (1) to win
RACE FOUR
DIEGO DELGADO (1) had an early look last start over the AP mile but when repelled was exposed early before receiving cover but fading over the closing stages. With better luck he could have been closer two starts back and from this gate, he can burrow through and look to take them all the way. BRAEVIEW FELLA (7) fired off the arm from gate 7 at the AP mile last start and looked to take them all the way. Collared in the latter stages with the winner coming off his back, he was grabbed late here two starts back when 2m from FULLOFIT. He can go from the hunted to the hunter in this. WAT NOW SHANNON (2) was having his first Qld outing here last start when trying to see it out from the front but collared in the last strides by ENGLISH DANCE. With 12 months since his last victory, the lead is likely not there this time and limiting the early burn will be key to his chances. THE HARRIS HAWK (5) had been building towards a win and was finally able to cash in for his first win of 2023 here last start when swooping late for a 4m margin. He can be thereabouts again here. SELECTIONS: DIEGO DELGADO (1), BRAEVIEW FELLA (7), WAT NOW SHANNON (2), THE HARRIS HAWK (5) SUGGESTED BET: DIEGO DELGADO / BRAEVIEW FELLA (1/7) quinella / exactas
RACE FIVE FULLOFIT (4) started from inside the second line last time out and with the favourable trip behind the speed, darted past them in the stretch to claim a 2m victory. Runner-up to ODINS BLACK CROWS two starts back, this is an awkward gate, but she is yet to miss the quinella in four attempts here. MACH TORQUE (2) was a winner here three starts back when easing from gate 6 before finishing best to claim a narrow margin. Retreating from gate 4 here last start, she was deep field in the run but sliced between runners to find the line nicely. Settling closer to the action aids her chances. ROCKNROLL MAX (3) is in the midst of a winning drought that extends 19 months, but his past two efforts have had merit where he has placed in both. A smart 3rd at HQ two back, he can feature here. TACTFILLY MIRACLE (7) maps for the economical trip and will be searching for gaps to make a late play. Placed in two of her past three, she is never too far away and will be probing again. SELECTIONS: FULLOFIT (4), MACH TORQUE (2), ROCKNROLL MAX (3), TACTFILLY MIRACLE (7) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE SIX BIG SHADOW (6) was enormous in defeat last start at HQ when tackling a qualifier and sent forward off a slow tempo. Kept three-wide when pressing forward, he loomed on the home turn of the 2138 contest, just peaking late in the stretch. A slick winner three back on this deck, he can defy the gate. MY ULTIMATE LEVI (1) has been kept fresh since his last appearance when down the line over the AP mile after being faced with a second line gate. Buried away two back when a 3m 3rd, he crosses Bramble Bay for the first time to tackle The Triangle and comes up with the gate to throw it down. O B LEGAL (4) was sent forward over the 2040 last start and pressing to the front was then able to dictate to a 4m margin. With a great record here at Redcliffe, he can be handy enough to add to it. ESCOBAR (2) was second up in Qld here last start when eased from gate 6 before making a late raid to grab the silver behind O B LEGAL. He gives away plenty of experience into this contest. SELECTIONS: BIG SHADOW (6), MY ULTIMATE LEVI (1), O B LEGAL (4), ESCOBAR (2) SUGGESTED BET: BIG SHADOW (6) to win
RACE SEVEN MIDNIGHT SOMEWHERE (1) released from gate 1 over the AP mile last time out and was searching for the opening when finishing 6m astern of the winner in a sub 54 rate. Rattling home from gate 5 here two starts back, he possesses all the options to capitalise. GELDOF (7) has not really had much in his favour in recent starts where the effort has been there but the result just evading him. Runner-up at the AP mile five runs back, he will secure the economical trip from this gate and be searching for a late gap to issue a challenge. MULLUM BOY (2) fired out before taking cover here two starts back when finishing with the silver behind THE VICAR OF DIBLEY. Too far back in a race dictated in front last time, he has claims. NEVADA YANKEE (6) is afforded no favours from the outside paint after a last start fade out when sitting parked. Chargin home for the silver here three starts back, he can chime in with a softer trip. SELECTIONS: MIDNIGHT SOMEWHERE (1), GELDOF (7), MULLUM BOY (2), NEVADA YANKEE (6) SUGGESTED BET: MIDNIGHT SOMEWHERE (1) to win
RACE EIGHT LITTLE CHANGE (7) is an opportunist and a lover of the passing lane here at The Triangle and the map looks to be right in his favour. Strong to the line after retreating from gate 6 last time out, he just needs to hit the lane with momentum here to dart through and take his shot. SHEZ NOTORIOUS (5) chases a hat-trick of victories after successive wins here at the 1780. Both of those wins have been when finding the front from this same gate and dictating. This is a tougher ask into this grade and with poor figures at the middle trip, but mares in form are worth following. MONGOLIAN CONQUEROR (1) had had four runs back from a spell and been at the rear in all four. Three of those have been from tough gates and with a return to a tight alley can turn it around. FOREVER MOMENTS (2) returns from a spell after fading last start when asked to grind it out from outside the leader. Taking them all the way two runs back at this trip, she can fire fresh. SELECTIONS: LITTLE CHANGE (7), SHEZ NOTORIOUS (5), MONGOLIAN CONQUEROR (1), FOREVER MOMENTS (2) SUGGESTED BET: LITTLE CHANGE (7) win/place
