RACE ONE

ALTANA BLUE (5) was locked away from inside the second line last start and never found the space when needed as KHULAN KID put them away in nice fashion. Gunned down over the closing stages at Marburg after leading them up from the tapes, he finds a race within reach here.

BEE GEES BEST (2) fired put from gate 1 over the AP mile last time out when looking to take them all the way. A 27.3 opening panel proved too costly and turning for home he was under pressure, fading to miss the money. A steadier time in front can see him throw down a challenge.

BEACH ON FIRE (1) has struggled to get back to his best sine resuming from a spell, his latest effort when down the line at Kilcoy. With the chance to tuck in behind the speed, he can be sharper here.

FLASH FREDDIE (7) held the pocket trail last start and held on for the bronze behind subsequent winner OYSTER STRIDE. A soft trip against the markers can see him chime in again.

SELECTIONS: ALTANA BLUE (5), BEE GEES BEST (2), BEACH ON FIRE (1), FLASH FREDDIE (7)
SUGGESTED BET: ALTANA BLUE (5) to win

RACE THREE

WESTERN SHOWGIRL (5)
celebrated her 100th career start in style here last time out when making an early move from the second line to get around them. Sitting parked, she pulled away in the stretch for a smart 10m margin. A two-time winner beyond the sprint, she can look to go back-to-back.

JILLIBY GIZMO (2) was looking to see them off from the front at Kilcoy last time out but was out of bullets at the top of the stretch and missed the money. Midfield from the tapes the start prior, he can settle handy from this gate and be looking to still be punching at the finish.

CHRONICLES (8) settled in the running line from this same gate last start and loomed up strongly to run the winner BARKWAY MARGARET to a half-neck. A similar trip can return a similar result.

ROCCO VARIETY (4) was in the pocket trail last start at The Creek over the sprint and after the easy trip, could not offer when angled into space. He is a podium hope here.

SELECTIONS: WESTERN SHOWGIRL (5), JILLIBY GIZMO (2), CHRONICLES (8), ROCCO VARIETY (4)
SUGGESTED BET: WESTERN SHOWGIRL (5) to win

RACE FOUR

DELIGHTFUL RAINBOW (7) was able to get away when the tapes released here two starts back and despite sitting parked, proved too strong for her rivals to claim a 3m margin. Beaten by a wide gate last time from the mobile, a return to the tapes where she is 2 from 5, can see her grab another.

ROCKNROLL DA GAMA (5) was staring down a hat-trick of victories when tackling a Show Final from the tapes here two runs back. Closing hard to grab the silver behind DELIGHTFUL RAINBOW, he was then too far back last time at HQ in a slick mile. Safe off the tapes, he can challenge here.

WOODLEA DIEGO (9) overcame a 10m impost at Marburg two runs back when sent forward to sit parked and able to grind out the prize. 3rd in a stronger Kilcoy event last time, he is right in the fight.

JANG PEL (4) will be on the back-up from Friday where he looked to have minor claims. Grabbing the bronze on the grass at Kilcoy two starts back, he has podium claims in this.

SELECTIONS: DELIGHTFUL RAINBOW (7), ROCKNROLL DA GAMA (5), WOODLEA DIEGO (9), JANG PEL (4)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FIVE

THREE MACHS (3)
settled in the running line last start and was the best out of the pack to chase WESTERN SHOWGIRL who pulled clear as they swung for home. Striking trouble two starts back, she has been placed in each attempt at the middle trip and with many of these likely to find the trip a hurdle too high, she can arrive.

ALWAYS AT NIGHT (9) eased from a wide gate on the grass last start before making some good ground in the closing stages to grab the bronze behind BUSTN FEELZ GOOD. Down the line from the standing start two back, he can be making a challenge here.

SPORTY AZZ (4) held on for 3rd at Kilcoy last time out when covering some extra track wide out. Making a mess of the start from the tapes two runs back, he can feature in this line up.

SABOTAGE (5) will back up from Friday at HQ and take her first look beyond the sprint trip. Unplaced at Kilcoy and Marburg in her previous two runs, she can chase a place.

SELECTIONS: THREE MACHS (3), ALWAYS AT NIGHT (9), SPORTY AZZ (4), SABOTAGE (5)
SUGGESTED BET: THREE MACHS (3) to win

RACE SIX

WHATA REACTOR (5)
was a winner over this trip four runs back after facing a second line gate and powering up late to get over the top of them. Strong to the line at Marburg two starts back when just a neck away, this another 2040 contest where many of these will be feeling the pinch and she can capitalise.

MISS PAU (4) was snagged back from gate 5 last start over the 1780 and from deep field was making some late metres when just out of the money behind WESTERN SHOWGIRL. Runner-up to CIRCLE LINE three runs back at Marburg, she might just be able to see it out.

SUBTLE ADVICE (8) worked forward from gate 4 last start to sit parked and after the tough run was able to fight hard for the silver. Despite the second line, he will be thereabouts.

LEAPING LEO (1) grabbed the silver last time out on the grass at Kilcoy when finding the front early and then opting for the trail. With the chance to tuck in behind again, he can feature.

SELECTIONS: WHATA REACTOR (5), MISS PAU (4), SUBTLE ADVICE (8), LEAPING LEO (1)
SUGGESTED BET:  WHATA REACTOR (5) to win

RACE SEVEN

CHOCOLATE NORMAN (1)
was asked to hang tough when parked outside the leader last start at Marburg and after the tough trip, faded over the closing stages. Grabbing the bronze from a wide gate here three starts back, if he can burrow through early, he finds a race well within reach.

ASTROPHILLIA (8) was eased from gate 5 to look for the short cuts up the inside over the AP mile last start but could not work into the contest as KHULAN KID put them away. Striking trouble the start prior, she finds a suitable race here to issue a challenge.

GET ME OUTTA HERE (3) has had two Qld starts since joining the Dan Russell stable and been out of the money in both. Chasing behind the smart HARRYS DEAL last start, he can feature here.

OLD ENGLISH (6) has no favours from the wide gate and has been well beaten at his past two starts. Only 4m from the winner three runs back, he can look for a sharper effort here.

SELECTIONS: CHOCOLATE NORMAN (1), ASTROPHILLIA (8), GET ME OUTTA HERE (3), OLD ENGLISH (6)
SUGGESTED BET: CHOCOLATE NORMAN (1) to win

RACE EIGHT

TRUE GRIT SHADOW (5)
was sent forward from this gate last start and trying to see it out from the front, was out of bullets and faded. Runner-up three runs back after a tough trip, he was 2m from subsequent winner BUSTN FEELZ GOOD. He might hold the winning ticket for the race 8 raffle.

FLY CHEVAL (7) was runner-up when best of the chasers behind the big winner UNDERTHEKILT three runs back on this deck. Well held from the tapes at her next appearance, she was again out of the money last start on the grass. If a gap arrives in time, she can issue a challenge.

OUR DOLLY (6) faded at Kilcoy last start and never looked comfortable. Beaten by the second line at Marburg the start prior, the gate does her chances no favours here, but she was a winner from this alley five runs back.

WEDDING NIGHT (2) is winless beyond the sprint but does have a handy gate to aid her chances. Fading after a tough run on the grass last start, she is a podium hope.

SELECTIONS: TRUE GRIT SHADOW (5), FLY CHEVAL (7), OUR DOLLY (6), WEDDING NIGHT (2)
SUGGESTED BET:
