RACE ONE
BEARS BEST (1) still a maiden after 53 attempts, has he found the conditions to open the account. Making some late metres to grab 3rd last start at Redcliffe behind JIMMY JOYCE, he should have the early hustle to take control and from the front will be trying to fend them off. ENZED FLYER (7) has placed in two of his three on this deck and is moving closer to claiming a maiden breaking victory. Down the line behind the slick looking KING VANCE last start, the start prior he was put out of business in a scrimmage. Despite the second line, he can issue a challenge. CULLECTINGCARDLES (6) is a 3YO filly on debut for trainer Ian Gurney which ranks as a half-sister to CARDLESFROMHEAVEN. With some tidy efforts at the trials, she will be searching for gaps. WHOS TO BLAME (4) has been showing steady improvement and should appreciate this level of opposition after a much tougher assignment last time out at The Creek. He can chime in. SELECTIONS: BEARS BEST (1), ENZED FLYER (7), CULLECTINGCARDLES (6), WHOS TO BLAME (4) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE TWO JUST ONE GOOD ONE (7) burrowed through at the 2040 to lead them up early before releasing for the trail last start on The Triangle. Keen in the run and lacking the zip when needed, he was out of the money behind THE HARRIS HAWK. He finds the right race here to cash in. WEDDING NIGHT (2) was sent forward to take control at Redcliffe last start over the 2040 but was unable to see the trip and faded in the closing stages as CIRCLE LINE arrived. Asked to hang tough when parked two starts back, finding the front back at the shorter trip can see her challenge. TODAYS HERO (6) will be searching for some gaps as he is in danger of being snookered in the run from this gate. A two-time winner on this deck, he can be thereabouts. ALWAYS AT NIGHT (3) did not have much luck last start when searching for a gap and grabbing the bronze behind CIRCLE LINE. Positioning cheaply can see him in the mix. SELECTIONS: JUST ONE GOOD ONE (7), WEDDING NIGHT (2), TODAYS HERO (6), ALWAYS AT NIGHT (3) SUGGESTED BET: JUST ONE GOOD ONE (7) to win
RACE THREE STARS OF AMERICA (8) settled in the pocket trail last start from inside the second line over the AP mile when making a late play to grab 3rd. Taking them all the way four starts back, he followed that with a strong finishing 2nd behind IT AINT ROYAL. Despite the gate, he looks up to the task. GET ME OUTTA HERE (9) broke through to score two starts back when making the most of a tight gate at Redcliffe, taking control and seeing it out from the front. Not suited last time out from outside the front line and settled too far back, he can look to make a closing challenge here. SHEZAMATERIALGIRL (2) does not have much by numerical form to strengthen an argument for her inclusion, but she does find suitable conditions here to turn that around. Early speed helps. CHAKANA (7) eased to the poles from a wide gate last start at Redcliffe and was trying to make late metres when down the line behind LAST CALL. Freshened since that outing, she has podium claims. SELECTIONS: STARS OF AMERICA (8), GET ME OUTTA HERE (9), SHEZAMATERIALGIRL (2), CHAKANA (7) SUGGESTED BET: STARS OF AMERICA (8) to win
RACE FOUR
ITSALLANDOVER (6) was having his first Qld outing at The Creek last start when looming strongly into the contest on the back of the eventual winner GETOVERROVER. Throwing it away with an error as they approached the 400, getting forward cheaply in this field can see him bounce back. INDEFENSIBLE (8) was listed as an emergency for Saturday night’s feature and if taking his place here can certainly make his presence felt. Errors at his past two have ended his chances, while six starts back he was a strong winner which was followed by successive placings. 50m is the concern. KING OF THE NORTH (7) is resuming from a spell after his last appearance back in January. 50m will be a big ask first up, but he has the ability to be in the fight. NATTY PAGGER (5) is one of only two horses in this field that have raced here previously. Getting closer to a victory, he has been runner-up at his past four in succession and can feature once again. SELECTIONS: ITSALLANDOVER (6), INDEFENSIBLE (8), KING OF THE NORTH (7), NATTY PAGGER (5) SUGGESTED BET: ITSALLANDOVER (6) to win
RACE FIVE CAPTAIN OH CAPTAIN (8) faces a tricky gate but should find this a shade or two easier than recent outings. Beaten by a wide gate when retreating over the 2138 last at HQ, he tried to see it out from the front two starts back at the same trip, fading late behind THE IRISHMAN. This is within reach. CIRCLE LINE (9) was back in winning form last start, descending on them from deep field to arrive for his sixth victory of the season. A seven-time winner on this deck, he has the versatility and with the chance to get into this contest in the early stages a likely scenario, he will throw down the challenge. KEAYANG SPONGE BOB (3) has some early hustle out of the machine and can look to dart across to take control. Finding the front would aid his chances of featuring. NIGHT NINJA (6) has a great record on this deck but will need plenty to go his way this time as he looks in danger of being snookered in the run. Placed his past two starts, he will be probing. SELECTIONS: CAPTAIN OH CAPTAIN (8), CIRCLE LINE (9), KEAYANG SPONGE BOB (3), NIGHT NINJA (6) SUGGESTED BET:
RACE SIX DOWNTOWN MANHATTAN (3) is unplaced in two previous attempts at this track but comes here this time, racing well and with the gate to capitalise. Making late metres when not too far from them last start at Redcliffe, it followed a tough 3rd after sitting parked. Conditions looks ideal here. DALLAS COWGIRL (7) was a winner here two starts back after easing to find position and then finishing best to claim a 2m margin. A five-time winner on this deck, she can secure the right trail in the early stages and be ready to issue a closing challenge. WHATA CHALLENGE (9) was making up ground over the closing stages two starts back for 3rd at Redcliffe. Kept fresh, he made good metres last start and can be making a late play here. MAMMALS DESTINY (1) should secure an economical trip in behind the speed and will be searching for a way clear to chase some minor money. SELECTIONS: DOWNTOWN MANHATTAN (3), DALLAS COWGIRL (7), WHATA CHALLENGE (9), MAMMALS DESTINY (1) SUGGESTED BET: DOWNTOWN MANHATTAN (3) to win
RACE SEVEN MALINJANG (1) was a Redcliffe winner two starts back when pressing forward to take control over the 2040 and once in front was able to see it out, pulling away to win by over a dozen metres. Not suited at her next start when parked at HQ, she can burrow through here and look to fend them off. GLENLEDI COMMANDER (4) is a four-time winner on this deck and scored a starchy victory here four runs back when sent around them from the second line to sit parked and grind out a narrow victory. Placed at his next two, he can get forward and apply the heat. SHADYS CULLECT (2) was asked to sit parked last time out and fighting hard was just outside the money as JAZIAH arrived. 7m from HES SWEET two starts back, she can be close enough to chime in. ETERNAL GOLD (6) will be requiring a slice of luck from this alley to spot some gaps but has been meeting stronger opposition than this assignment. Just needs the gap to open with track in hand. SELECTIONS: MALINJANG (1), GLENLEDI COMMANDER (4), SHADYS CULLECT (2), ETERNAL GOLD (6) SUGGESTED BET: MALINJANG (1) to win
RACE EIGHT SHADYS DELIGHT (3) eased from gate 5 to find the poles last start at Redcliffe and then when asked to sprint grabbed the silver behind BATED BREATH. A winner the last time he raced here on the Little M, he has tidy numbers on this deck and can be handy enough to stake a claim. AQUA CRUISER (1) can look to make full use of this gate on a track where he is a four-time winner. Wide gates have plagued him in recent outings, the latest when ending too far back after retreating from wide off the front line at Redcliffe. An improved alley can be the catalyst for challenging. SCHEU CREEK (5) has a better than 50% strike rate for the top-three on this track from his 30 appearances. Unable to warm up last start at Redcliffe, the gate dents his hopes here. FILLY THIRTEEN (4) was down the line last start from the second line over the AP mile as AURORA JOY took the prize. Fading in smart time when leading the start prior, she can be sharper here. SELECTIONS: SHADYS DELIGHT (3), AQUA CRUISER (1), SCHEU CREEK (5), FILLY THIRTEEN (4) SUGGESTED BET: SHADYS DELIGHT (3) to win
RACE NINE HEADWIN (1) has been showing steady improvement since resuming from a spell and last start was making some tidy metres in the closing stages behind JAZIAH. Just behind the money two back as MIDNIGHT SOMEWHERE arrived, he can burrow through from this alley and look to dictate. KULANI COURAGE (3) features in a stable change to join the Ryan Veivers team and will tackle this fresh from his last appearance back in September when wide off the track at Redcliffe. Wide gates stunted his hopes in his previous three outings, and he can look to turn it around here. FRANCO NATHAN (9) resumes from a spell after his last outing back in July when midfield, beaten 4m at Redcliffe. Buried in the run here two starts back, he can be chiming in from the tough alley. BLISSFULDAY (2) was not helped last start by a wheel issue that saw him fade out. Showing some early hustle before a midfield finish two starts back, this is his opportunity to chase some improvement. SELECTIONS: HEADWIN (1), KULANI COURAGE (3), FRANCO NATHAN (9), BLISSFULDAY (2) SUGGESTED BET: HEADWIN (1) to win
