The Mareeba Turf Club non-TAB race meeting scheduled for Friday, January 26 has been abandoned due to weather/state of the track.
Further rainfall was recorded on Thursday, on top of the 60mm recorded since last Saturday, making the track unsuitable for racing.
The potential affects of Cyclone Kirrily were also taken into consideration.
The Mareeba TC will however conduct a phantom (betting) meeting with full facilities available.
Due to the abandonment, an additional race – Benchmark 60 Hcp 1100m of $10,000 – has been added to the Innisfail Turf Club non-TAB meeting on February 3, 2024.
Nominations for this meeting close at 11am on Tuesday, January 30.
