Racing Queensland advises that there have been changes made to the race meetings programmed for Sunshine Coast Turf Club on Friday, March 15, and Sunday, March 17.
They comprise:
- Friday, March 15 – transferred to Caloundra’s Polytrack; and
- Sunday, March 17 – transferred to Lockyer Valley Turf Club at Gatton.
The transfers have been considered necessary to allow Sunshine Coast Turf Club further time to continue its current track renovation, a process undertaken to rejuvenate its racing surface after a consistent deluge of rain over the past two months.
To accommodate these changes RQ has made amendments to the race programmes for both meetings, the details of which are:
Friday, March 15 – Sunshine Coast Turf Club – Polytrack
- Class 3 Handicap, 1000m, $100k, has been deleted from this program and will be rescheduled to another race meeting (details TBC);
- Class 3 Handicap, 1000m, $28k has been added;
- Benchmark 58 Handicap, 2200m, is now 2000m with prizemoney unaltered;
- Benchmark 58 Handicap, 1400m, is unaltered;
- Colts, Geldings & Entires Benchmark 58 Handicap, 1000m, and Fillies & Mares Benchmark 58 Handicap, 1000m, have been combined to make one race i.e. Benchmark 58 Handicap, 1000m, $28k;
- Maiden Plate (Set Weights), 1200m, is now 1100m with prizemoney unaltered;
- Benchmark 65 Handicap, 1200m, $28k, has been added;
- Maiden Handicap ,1400m, $30k, has been added;
- 2yo Maiden Plate (Set Weights), 1000m, $30k, has been added; and
- Maiden Plate (Set Weights), 2200m, has been deleted from the program.
Sunday, March 17 – Lockyer Valley Turf Club at Gatton
- Class 4 Handicap, 1200m, is now 1100m;
- Benchmark 65 Handicap, 1200m, is now 1100m;
- Benchmark 62 Handicap, 1600m, is unaltered;
- Class 1 Handicap, 1400m, is unaltered;
- Maiden Handicap, 1800m, is now 2000m;
- 3yo Maiden Handicap, 1800m, is now 1600m; and
- 2yo Maiden Handicap, 1000m, is now 860m.
Prizemoney levels for this race meeting remain as have been previously published & Country Apprentice claims will now be applicable to it.
Participants will also be advised of the changes via SMS messaging.
