The Brisbane Racing Club race meeting at Doomben today on Saturday March 30, has been abandoned due to the state of the track.
Whilst the majority of the track is considered safe to race on, the chute areas at the 1600m & 1350m start points are not considered safe.
This is consequence of the significant rainfall which fell in Brisbane on Wednesday/Thursday & Friday evening.
Consideration was given to amending the distances of some of the races on the program for the meeting to proceed, however the changes would be too significant for that to be a viable option.
RQ is liaising with the BRC regarding a future replacement date, with the potential to reschedule the meeting in its entirety to tomorrow (Sunday).
However, the likelihood of the affected parts of the track recovering in time for that to take place is deemed remote.
Stakeholders will be advised as soon as possible of a final date.
