“His run in the Lightning was super as it was only 1000 metres and the 1200 metres will suit him a lot better.
“He lost a lot of confidence last campaign after he hurt his hamstrings but he’s doing a lot better now and doing great in the stable.”
It’s well documented Campton once trained Tony Gollan’s star sprinter Antino and he’s hoping Deepour can be his next big star.
Deepour had three starts during the Queensland Summer Racing Carnival but Campton believes the six-year-old is more of a winter horse than in the summer.
Deepour ran in the Swiss Ace Plate, Group 3 George Moore and Listed Falvelon during the summer.
