RACE ONE

Arriving in Qld for a tilt at the Qld Derby, CHART TOPPER (8) will require some N Jack magic to find a way clear from this gate to get into the contest. Releasing last start at Wagga before finishing over the top, it followed successive 2nds to start his 3YO term. Just needs the opening.

JEWEL MELODY (1) tackled the Rising Sun Consolation last start where she was wide over the last lap trying to get into the contest. That had followed an 8m deficit behind ROCKNROLL HAMMER and if she can muster to hold the back of the leader, she can challenge.

SWEET AGENDA (2) was chasing a hat-trick of victories last start when fired out from gate 7 to take control but collared late by DUKE OF SCOTLAND. She can fire the first bullets again here.

JUNGLE BABY (3) secures her best gate since arriving in Qld after facing wide gates in all four starts. On the back up from Tuesday when stung by gate 7, she can be closer here.

SELECTIONS: CHART TOPPER (8), JEWEL MELODY (1), SWEET AGENDA (2), JUNGLE BABY (3)
SUGGESTED BET: CHART TOPPER (8) to win

RACE TWO

Impressing in two starts that have landed a pair of wins, DUKE OF SCOTLAND (3) will need to take the next step here. Powering home over the top of them last start in some slick closing panels to score from gate 10, he can get handy to stake his claim.

IRON CLAD (1) was snagged off the arm last start in the South East Derby and from deep field was strong to the line when 6m astern of the winner. Luckless when resuming from a spell and beaten a similar margin after a tough trip, he finds the gate to throw down the challenge.

KALASA (4) is in good touch and last start fired off the arm to take them all the way over the middle trip. Runner-up both prior outings, he is in the mix again here.

ALWAYS LOCKSLEY (2) is another that is in great touch and will be chasing a hat-trick of victories. Finishing best from the second line last start, he can feature.

SELECTIONS: DUKE OF SCOTLAND (3), IRON CLAD (1), KALASA (4), ALWAYS LOCKSLEY (2)
SUGGESTED BET: DUKE OF SCOTLAND (3) to win

RACE THREE

Resuming from a spell with victory at Menangle, BLAZING HOME (1) was able to overcome gate 9 to take a 5m margin. That earned a start in the Rising Sun where second up he was locked away on the poles when 10m from WISPER A SECRET. He has the all the options to capitalise.

CAPTAINS KNOCK (9) did not have the smoothest passage in the Rising Sun but boasts the best sectionals from the race when working home to be 5m from the winner. Shuffled back the start prior at Menangle, he can get the trip through to throw down the challenge.

DEUS EX (2) found the trail last start and when angled into space had the speed to finish with a 1m margin in claiming a PB 1.50.1 mile. He can be handy enough to feature again.

JIMARTEE (3) had his chances expire when making an error last start to finish midfield behind LEAP TO FAME. Locked away the start prior when runner-up to DEUS EX, he can bounce back.

SELECTIONS: BLAZING HOME (1), CAPTAINS KNOCK (9), DEUS EX (2), JIMARTEE (3)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FOUR

FORCE FULL (1)
released last start and from the trail then lost momentum at a crucial point before running on for the bronze. A similar fate presented two starts back at Menangle when needing the space sooner and if he can get the right trip, this is within reach.

MAJOR HOT (8) pressed through in the early stages to work to the front from a second line gate here last week and was then trying to fight them off when finishing 1m astern of the winner. Darting though on the lane for 2nd at Redcliffe, he will be probing gaps to issue a challenge.

BRONSKI ZULU (4) was out of the pack and chasing last start wen grabbing the silver behind ATTACHMENT. Luckless the start prior, if he can be handy enough, he can fill the minors.

MINOS (7) started fav in the South East Derby last week from the wide gate where he was sent forward to sit parked but was unable to see it out. The gates have not been kind.

SELECTIONS: FORCE FULL (1), MAJOR HOT (8), BRONSKI ZULU (4), MINOS (7)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-4-7-8

RACE FIVE

Drawn wide off the second line at his past two starts, FREE THINKER (9) has another second line gate to negotiate here. With the chance to push through on the back of the speed, to find a spot, his recent efforts have been full of merit without the reward. With the right trip, he can capitalise.

REGAZZO DI TILLY (6) put together four successive victories heading into the Qld Sun where he then was hitting dead-ends int eh stretch when 6m from the winner. Beaten by the outside front line in the Rising Sun Consolation, positioning cheaply will be the key as he issues the challenge.

FOR REAL LIFE (5) rolled forward early before cover arrived in the Rising Sun but then did not really get warm in the closing stages. 5m from ARODA in the Qld Sun, at his best he can take it.

ELLIS STREET (2) was chasing a sixth successive victory when tackling the Qld Sun where he was sent forward to find the front. In for the fight and only fading in the dying stages in a blanket finish, he can be right in the fight once again.

SELECTIONS: FREE THINKER (9), REGAZZO DI TILLY (6), FOR REAL LIFE (5), ELLIS STREET (2)
SUGGESTED BET: FREE THINKER (9) to win

RACE SIX

With her only appearance resulting in victory here at The Creek, LADIES IN RED (2) returns for what potentially could be her swansong. The millionaire mare beat the ‘boys’ last start when running a 54.5 last 800 to claim victory. She has the gate to chase another G1.

AARDIES EXPRESS (7) bounced back to winning form last start when burrowing through to hold the front and see them off in the Fleur De Lil. A  beaten fav the start prior in her only defeat this side of the ditch, she will be getting forward and looking to strong arm her way to victory.

TAY TAY (11) savaged the line the last 100m here two starts back when beaten a half-head and then last start was wide over the closing stages when 3m from AADRIES EXPRESS. If the heat is dialled up, she can breeze over the top of them.

EYE KEEP SMILING (6) was unlucky to miss the Rising Sun and then from gate 5 in the consolation was required to work hard in the early stages. Beaten in the last strides, the gate again stings her hopes.

SELECTIONS: LADIES IN RED (2), AARDIES EXPRESS (7), TAY TAY (11), EYE KEEP SMILING (6)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SEVEN

In a mouthwatering prelude to next week’s $500k event, FATE AWAITS (8) secures some second line options as the lone runner out the back. Last raced at Melton back in April when 3rd from outside the second line behind THE HIGHLIGHT REEL, his trial to prepare for this was sizzling and he looks to have a bright future.

HESITATE (1) will be looking to boost his profile for the big one from this gate. Beaten from a wide gate at his last start back in May when 3m from FORTY LOVE, he trialled in good order and has the gate to cash in.

BITTERSWEET (3) won her first four career starts which included the G1 Bathurst Gold Tiara Final to end her campaign. Resuming against older horses at Wagga, she was rallying late when just a half-head from the winner CHART TOPPER. With an impressive trial, she can throw it down fresh.

SWEET ON LEXY (5) will appreciate a return to his own age after tackling older opponents last start and buried in the run from the inside gate. His last 100 was swift once finding space and he can be running on.

SELECTIONS: FATE AWAITS (8), HESITATE (1), BITTERSWEET (3), SWEET ON LEXY (5)
SUGGESTED BET: FATE AWAITS (8) to win

RACE EIGHT

At career start 50 last week, the horse they call Larry took his tally to 39 victories. LEAP TO FAME (4) was a winner of this race last year when charging home off speed and will be out to make it a hat-trick of wins and 29 wins at The Creek. He can force the issue early and extend his winning streak on this deck to 12.

DISTRICT ATTORNEY (3) had the ideal trip and was able to make the most of his sizzling close out speed and pip LEAP TO FAME on the wire at Redcliffe. Setting the speed in the Wondais Mate when 6m from the champ, he will be hoping to replicate his Redcliffe victory,

TAIPO (10) is chasing a hat-trick of victories after successive wins over the Menangle mile. A 1.50.2 winner on this deck from one of his two appearances, he can be running on.

SIMPLY SAM (2) was the eye catcher last week in the Mr Feelgood when buried in the run and then attacking the line once finding the space. Holding a handy spot can see him join in.

SELECTIONS: LEAP TO FAME (4), DISTRICT ATTORNEY (3), TAIPO (10), SIMPLY SAM (2)
SUGGESTED BET: LEAP TO FAME (4) to win

RACE NINE

A super season can continue for GUS (6) as he looks to build on his impressive career. Too classy for them in the DJA Final last start when showing his powerful turn of speed, his last appearance behind the start car was a victory four starts back from outside the front line. He is in the zone.

MUFASA METRO (3) returns to the Sunshine State where he was runner-up in ID23 when trying to lead throughout. Fighting hard when 1m from ALDEBARAN ZEUS last start after sitting parked from gate 7, that was just his second run back from a spell and he can throw it down here.

ADELLE (1) has been drawing wide in recent starts and faces a big gate improvement. Throwing down the last shot at CONSTANTINOPLE last time when beaten a blister, sitting closer to the action is a huge plus.

LONDON TO A BRICK (9) was game in the Great Square when parked and making one last rally to get to a half-neck of the winner. Claiming three on the bounce leading into that, he is in the mix again.

SELECTIONS: GUS (6), MUFASA METRO (3), ADELLE (1), LONDON TO A BRICK (9)
SUGGESTED BET: GUS (6) to win

RACE TEN

forced to work hard in the run in the early stages in securing position, ROCKNROLL HAMMER (8) could not go with them in the Rising Sun when finishing down the line. Scoring a slick win the start prior over the mile, finding the gaps to get into clear air will be his biggest challenge in this.

VAN BASTEN (3) started from inside the second line last start in the Rising Sun consolation and with a smoother passage may have been closer than the 3m margin. Chasing home behind HECTOR at Menangle the start prior, he can get handy to issue the challenge.

HAY THERE JOE (5) has been sectionally strong in recent attempts, just not getting things to go his way. 5m from TEDDY DISCO last start, he can grab a minor.

RED RIGHT HAND (1) cashed in at Redcliffe two starts back when finding the front, releasing and then landing the closing shot to score. The gate gives the options to chime in.

SELECTIONS: ROCKNROLL HAMMER (8), VAN BASTEN (3), HAY THERE JOE (5), RED RIGHT HAND (1)
SUGGESTED BET: ROCKNROLL HAMMER (8) to win
