The Herbert River Jockey Club (Ingham) non-Tab meeting scheduled for Saturday, July 13 has been abandoned due to the state of the track.
The Ingham racetrack has received 40mm rainfall in the past 7 days (including an overnight shower) and a further QRIC Stewards track inspection on Thursday morning ruled the track to be unsuitable for racing.
Several sections of the track are still extremely wet and unlikely to dry out in the coming days. Another issue would be the maneuverability of the barrier stalls.
RQ will liaise with the club regarding a future replacement date for this annual Cup race meeting.
Due to the abandonment, an additional race – Maiden Plate (sw) 1000m of $20,000 – has been added to the Townsville TC TAB meeting on Saturday, July 20.
Nominations for this meeting close at 11am on Monday, July 15.
