Form Analysis: Marburg - 22 October

RACE 1 

GETAGRIP (1) began slowly on Sunday at Marburg and was easily crossed in the early stages. He was able to get clear in the concluding stages there and nabbed the leader to score. He will be looking to beat the handicapper in this race and score a second maiden win. 

TAKING A PUNT (9) is another that’ll be looking to beat the handicapper and win a second maiden. He was able to lead at Redcliffe and was too good there in what may have been a stronger maiden. 

FREELANCE DANCER (8) didn’t have much luck last start when taking a sit in the early stages. They ran fast time early and she was held up at a crucial stage of the race. 

ALSROKSTAR (5) was launched off the gate in the early stages last start to find the front. Over raced over finding the top and tired out of it late.

RACE 2 

WHIRLWIND WILBUR (5) was caught without cover on a very strong tempo which saw him working hard. He battled away strongly in an effort that suggested he is nearing a win. 

TRIAGE (9) stepped away brilliantly last start and was able to find the front. Ran along in that race and set a solid tempo before just being run down late by Phoenix Red. Will need to step away well again from the handicap. 

DORA LEE (1) hit the line strongly last start to run into second. She is third up from a spell in this race and should be nearing peak fitness. Looks well handicapped off the front. 

IM A GYPSY QUEEN (10) was second in a recent trial behind classy trotter Call Me Trouble. Faces a big handicap but has the class to overcome if things go her way.

RACE 3

BEEF CITY STARZZZ (2) showed gate speed before handing over to dominant winner Batman Bart. Looks a race he may be able to lead and set the speed out in front. Could give them something to catch. 

MACH TORQUE (1) is a very consistent horse. He tired and was well beaten last start but that was one of very few poor runs. He gains the perfect draw here and should be thereabouts. 

BLING THE LUCK (6) finds herself back in the Jack Butler stable. She was able to string four wins in a row together when last joining the stable. Draw looks tricky on paper but she is good enough to figure with luck. 

MONTEREY JACK (7) ran on from the back to score two runs ago before not having the clearest passage late last start.

RACE 4 

MIDNIGHT CALM (1) is a bold front running type. Draws ideally in gate one and can give them all something to catch. Last time he was able to lead over a mile he was narrowly beaten by Betterthan Popsy and Collect A Dime. 

OUR MAJOR DAY (6) lead last start and was run down late by a horse that controlled the race outside the leader. He has since trialled well and should gain a good run from the draw. 

LAST TIME JOE (3) was having his first start in nearly a month last time out when racing off the pegs outside a strong tempo set by Tairlaw Toll. He should be suited back in trip and this looks easier. 

ROCKTAGONAL (4) has been racing in strong veterans company his last few. He battled away moderately two back over the mile after drawing inside the back row.

RACE 5

FANTASY BLASTER (3) was a dominant winner last start where she showed gate speed to find the front and lead them all the way. Looks another race where she may be able to find the front and if she does would prove very hard to beat. 

WILLROBY (1) has been racing well. Was finishing off strong two starts ago once clear into third behind Pink River Diamond. He appeared to hit the line well late last start when held up for clear running late. 

HIGHLY RESPECTED (8) had no luck last time out from the outside back row draw. She was the first horse to cross the line that raced off the pegs there into third. She will need to overcome a poor draw again but appears to be racing well enough. 

BLUE BLOODZ (4) did the work last start and battled on well there behind La Sabina. She may be forced to do the work again in this race.

RACE 6 

ROCKNROLL TIMES (2) is a brilliant beginner. He should fly the gate land on the front and give them something to catch. First up no trial is the query.

MOUNT HERCULES (1) finished close up two back in a 1.53.6 mile rate. He can obtain the run of the race here and from there can figure in the finish. 

STUDLEIGH MARK (6) is racing in career best form. Worked early last start and raced off the pegs before he was held up appearing to be travelling easily late. If he can obtain clear running he should be right in the finish. 

DANIEL BOOM (7) likes racing at this track and will be looking to make it three and row at Marburg. He hasn’t been beaten far in any of his recent outings and appears to be racing well.

RACE 7

MERGE RIGHT (2) has been racing well recently. She was beaten just over 2 metres last start when crossed in the early stages by My Rocky Romance. She has gate speed and could be hard to beat leading. 

OBI ONE (7) rarely runs a poor race. Is well suited by a trailing draw and won’t do any work in the early stages. Can be finishing off well. 

MADRIGAL (6) was a recent winner at Albion Park when running down Shez Notorious. Can secure  a similarly cheap run in this race to the one she had there when scoring. 

MIKI MAGIC (2) returned from a spell last start and was shuffled right back on the pegs. She should be better for the outing and can figure from the good draw.

SUGGESTED BET: MERGE RIGHT (2) to win. 

RACE 8

KELLOSHIEL (2) trialled up very impressively leading into her first up run in QLD before doing a few things wrong there and was sent back to the trials. She trialled up well enough for a race of this nature. She’s won racing around small tracks in the past so the small track at Marburg should be no concern. 

OLLIE OLLIE (1) hit the line strongly last start coming down the wide outside at the end of a slowly run race. Gains the perfect draw to do no work and can be in the finish. 

ARNOLD STREET (8) hasn’t been beaten far in recent efforts. Worked forward last start before obtaining a trail and running into it well late. 

LONDON LADY (6) ran fourth in a recent trial beaten a small margin there by Stormtide. She draws well on return and should be thereabouts with luck.
