RACE 1
COUGAR EXPRESS (1) took on a heat of the Peak Of The Creek last start and battled on well into a very close up fourth. The winner of that heat Betterthan Popsy went on to run second in the final. He should have the speed to lead and will take plenty of catching.
MY ULTIMATE VICTOR (2) had no luck at all in a heat of the Peak Of The Creek. Worked early to find the pegs and was then dragged out of it by a tiring runner. He will likely be looking to obtain that position leaders back.
REDS STAR DEAL (3) was crossed in the early stages last time out and ended up being shuffled back on the pegs. Once clear he finished up the sprint lane strongly in the concluding stages.
THE VIXEN (7) wasn’t able to hold the back of the leader when last drawing inside the back row. She impressed last start winning dominantly at this track and if she is able to hold her spot in the early stages comes in with a big chance.
SELECTIONS: COUGAR EXPRESS (1), MY ULTIMATE VICTOR (2), REDS STAR DEAL (3), THE VIXEN (7)
SUGGESTED BET: COUGAR EXPRESS (1) to win.
RACE 2
PARTY POLOTIX (1) was first up for the Jonah Hutchinson stable last start and obtained a good run on the leaders back. She finished strongest there to score impressively. She has stacked up well in this type of grade previously and looks to have drawn ideally in gate one.
MIGHTY GEORGE (9) has been racing without luck in recent starts. Three starts ago he flashed into third coming off a slow tempo. He will be looking to do similar again in this.
DIEGO DELGADO (7) isn’t racing at his absolute best. He was able to find the lead last time out and was well beaten into eighth. He is likely to be suited by a great draw and a step back to the 1780.
ILLBEWATCHING (3) was left without cover in the early stages last time out which really doesn’t suit this sit sprinter. He can be finishing off strong driven quietly in the early stages.
SELECTIONS: PARTY POLOTIX (1), MIGHTY GEORGE (9), DIEGO DELGADO (7), ILLBEWATCHING (3)
SUGGESTED BET: PARTY POLOTIX (1) to win.
RACE 3
FAVREAU (1) hasn’t drawn gate one since April this year. He appears to be racing well and is suited when able to roll along up on speed.
EMMALEEN (7) made up strong ground last start when racing towards the rear of the field. Could secure a great run drawn behind a runner that generally looks to lead when given the opportunity.
TAURUS BROMAC (9) has improved in his recent starts. Was running on well last time out in the concluding stages behind Miss Froufrou. This looks slightly easier.
GRIGORA (6) draws poorly in this race but does bring in good form. Ran very well last start behind Smooth Overarm.
SELECTIONS: FAVREAU (1), EMMALEEN (7), TAURUS BROMAC (9), GRIGORA (6)
SUGGESTED BET: EMMALEEN (7) to win.
RACE 4
SCRUFFY (4) didn’t have much luck last start getting a long way back in a slowly run race. His start prior he was very disappointing as favourite after leading and fading out of it to be beaten 9.8 metres. The best version of him would be hard to beat in this.
BRIAN CHRISTOPHER (2) faced the breeze last start and battled on well there behind Rocknroll Times.
MISSED CONSEQUENCES (1) has all the options from the low gate. Was able to lead and ran well into second two starts ago before being driven conservatively last start and struggling to find clear running at a crucial stage.
WAR CLUB (7) has been in near career best form in recent times finishing strongly nearly every start. He draws well behind a good beginner.
SELECTIONS: SCRUFFY (4), BRIAN CHRISTOPHER (2), MISSED CONSEQUENCES (1), WAR CLUB (7)
SUGGESTED BET: SCRUFFY (4) to win.
RACE 5
TULHURST CUDDLES (9) is well suited by the move to this draw which is likely to see her settle closer than she did last start from gate 6. She finished strongly to just miss Bling The Bling but draws to advantage this time and can turn the tables on that horse.
GOODTIME CRACKER (6) faced the breeze his last two starts and ran well both times. He was particularly impressive last start. Worked extremely hard in the early stages in a 28.8 first quarter. He’s likely to find this tougher and may need to work again but is racing well.
BLING THE LUCK (5) ran home strongest last start to score in a decent mile rate for the grade. Draws awkwardly again in this race and will need to go equally as well as she did last start or potentially even a touch better.
MEGA STAR (7) draws somewhat awkwardly. He returns from a spell in this race and will likely need plenty of luck to figure but does need to be respected in a race of this nature.
SELECTIONS: TULHURST CUDDLES (9), GOODTIME CRACKER (6), BLING THE LUCK (5), MEGA STAR (7)
SUGGESTED BET: TULHURST CUDDLES (9) to win.
RACE 6
CONNIES SPIRIT (1) zipped across at the start last time out before taking a sit on the short priced favourite. She hit the line strongly late up the inside once clear and looks to have a suited horse to sit on in this race.
OCEAN LANE (4) ran well last start when getting a long way back in the early stages behind Aqua Cruiser. Looks a very suitable race.
MONTEREY JACK (5) has been in great form since returning from a spell with a last start fourth the first time he has missed the placings in his last 5 starts. Can be finishing off strong.
MISTER HART (2) was able to secure a really good run last start just off the speed but couldn’t reel in the eventual winner in what was a very slow last quarter. He has always gone best when able to lead but would need to improve significantly off his last start effort.
SELECTIONS: CONNIES SPIRIT (1), OCEAN LANE (4), MONTEREY JACK (5), MISTER HART (2)
SUGGESTED BET: CONNIES SPIRIT (1) to win.
RACE 7
FRANKIE GIRL (3) thought she trialled up quite well despite being beaten a margin before a really disappointing effort on return after sitting leaders back was beaten 22.2 metres in a 2.01.9 mile rate. She really bounced back last start and impressed there running into third behind Rockcandy and Ima Ballerina.
TAKE COURAGE (4) closed off strongly last start after obtaining a good run. This looks a maiden with slightly less depth than that race and looks one of the top chances.
PERSUASIVE CHANGE (1) secured a good run just off the speed last time out and wasn’t overly competitive in the end finishing a distant sixth. She likely needs easier or plenty of luck to break her maiden off her first four starts so far.
KEAYANG LACEY (2) finished close up last start in what was a strong enough maiden. Draws well in this race and has to go in as a good chance.
SELECTIONS: FRANKIE GIRL (3), TAKE COURAGE (4), PERSUASIVE CHANGE (1), KEAYANG LACEY (2)
SUGGESTED BET: FRANKIE GIRL (3) to win.
RACE 8
MATAI REACTOR (9) got a long way back last start behind Goodtime Cracker. That looks good form this race. Can be hitting the line strongly late.
EXPLANATION NOTED (4) made a strong mid race move last start and just tired late into fourth but strength and toughness has never appeared to be her strength. If she can find a position early could be finishing off well.
THE REAL VANESSA (5) took on a slightly stronger race last start at Albion Park and looked to be hitting the line with something in hand late. Draws awkwardly if she can navigate the draw she looks a good winning chance.
ALWAYS BE A TORQUE (7) was beaten by the horse with momentum down the outside last start in Rollonx. Looks a potentially awkward draw but does follow a horse that has gate speed.
SELECTIONS: MATAI REACTOR (9), EXPLANATION NOTED (4), THE REAL VANESSA (5), ALWAYS BE A TORQUE (7)
SUGGESTED BET: EXPLANATION NOTED (4) to win.
RACE 9
WHIRLWIND WILBUR (3) is racing in good form. He is a long standing maiden but does appear to be closing in on that elusive maiden win. Looks well suited off the front mark. If he is able to step to the top he will take plenty of beating.
JUSTABITLIKESULLY (2) stepped and was able to lead last start at Albion Park. Was no match for the winner Alderbaran Fonz but battled away very well in the end for second.
TRIAGE (6) generally steps away quickly from the stand start. Stepped brilliantly last start and was able to find the front before being run down by Agent Black who is a smart young trotter. Looks the right form for this race.
PANDA FOEY (7) is capable at his best and looks suited in this race off just 10 metres.
SELECTIONS: WHIRLWIND WILBUR (3), JUSTABITLIKESULLY (2), TRIAGE (6), PANDA FOEY (7)
SUGGESTED BET: WHIRLWIND WILBUR (3) to win.
