Racing Queensland confirms that the Sunshine Coast Turf Club (course proper) race meeting on Sunday, November 24, has been abandoned following the determination that there is no possibility that the track will recover in time to be raced on.

A new race meeting has however been programmed and it will take place on the venue’s Polytrack on Sunday.

As a result and given the multitude of race meeting abandonment's in SEQ this week, a program has been created to as best possible cater for lost racing opportunities.

The new program comprises:

  • Class 5 Handicap, 1600m, $28k;
  • Benchmark 65 Handicap, 1400m, $28k;
  • Benchmark 55 Handicap, 1400m, $28k;
  • Benchmark 65 Handicap, 1100m, $28k;
  • Benchmark 55 Handicap, 1100m, $28k;
  • Maiden Plate 1000m, $30k; and 3yo Maiden Plate, 1100m, $30k
