Spicy Martini to fly flag for Gold Coast in TAB Magic Millions Sunlight

Unbeaten filly Spicy Martini will bring an “X Factor” to this Saturday’s inaugural running of the $3 million TAB Magic Millions Sunlight at Aquis Park after being selected to represent slot holders the Gold Coast Turf Club and Aquis Farm.

The exciting Gold Coast filly, who is unbeaten in two starts for trainers Toby Edmonds and Stephen McLean, heads into the feature contest full of momentum after scoring an impressive Stakes victory in the Listed Mode Plate last start.

She will meet a hot field in Saturday’s race, to be held on the first ever Magic Millions Gold twilight meeting, including Golden Slipper winner Lady Of Camelot and GC1000 winner Arabian Summer.

GCTC CEO Steve Lines said Spicy Martini’s untapped potential made her the perfect candidate for the race combined with the fact she’s trained on the Gold Coast and will represent on her home track.

“We are really excited to have Spicy Martini representing the Gold Coast and Aquis Farm on Saturday,” said Lines.

“Whilst we know she will face her toughest test in a field of this calibre, she couldn’t have been more impressive in what she has done to date.

“She brings a real ‘X factor’ to the race.”

The barrier draw for the $3 million TAB Magic Millions Sunlight will be held at Aquis Park at 10am tomorrow (Tuesday, December 31).

The revamped Magic Millions Gold twilight Raceday shapes as a mouth-watering program with over $6 million in prize money on offer across an exciting 10-race card.

The $500,000 the TAB Magic Millions Wave has been boosted in prize money and with changed race conditions this year whilst two-year-old Magic Millions hopefuls will have their last chance to qualify for the $3 million The Star Gold Coast Magic Millions 2YO Classic in the Aquis Gold Pearl and Aquis Gold Nugget.

The Magic Millions Gold twilight meeting follows on from the club’s successful hosting of the first ever Silks Under the Stars race evening on December 20, which attracted a huge crowd of almost 10,000 attendees.

The final four races on Saturday will be held under lights which promises to add an exciting new element to this year’s raceday.

Corporate hospitality tickets are available in the Amalfi on the Coast function in the event centre for $350 per person, or general admission tickets are available for $30.
