Form Analysis: Redcliffe January 16

RACE 1 

KATACHA MAN (9) was desperately unlucky last start when held out for a position in the breeze before being forced to the rear and flashing home late. This looks a good opportunity for young Will Rothwell to break through for his first driving victory. 

FAVREAU (2) has not drawn suitably in a race of this nature for quite some time. He will be looking to do his best to hold out Ocean Lane in the early stages.

DIEGO DELGADO (8) made an early move 3 wide to challenge the leader. He couldn’t quite match the quinella runners but battled away well for third. 

OCEAN LANE (5) has been in brilliant form scoring four wins in her last five starts. She steps up significantly in grade and looks tested in this.

RACE 2 

VALLANI MAGIC (1) is a gate speed horse that hasn’t had favourable draws in her last few starts. 

NAUTIE GALVINATOR (3) ran on strongly recently into a good second over the 2040 trip. Backed that up with another good run last start when running on late. 

BLACKJACK CRIPPA (6) led last start and was good enough to hold them off late. Looks tougher from the draw. 

BLING THE LUCK (8) was well beaten last start when not suited racing wide in the quickest part of the race. Can bounce back.

RACE 3

CANDYKANE (1) was a very impressive winner two starts ago when able to lead. She looks to get that opportunity again in this race and can bounce back. 

TYPHOON TORQUE (3) will be looking to get in leaders back in the early stages from this draw. Goes best when able to find the pegs in her races. 

TOMMY BLIGH (8) has taken on slightly stronger company in recent outings. This looks more suitable.

HOIHO (7) will need to do his best in the early stages to hold the position on the leaders back. He is racing well enough.

RACE 4 

BETTING ORIGIN (6) was a very gallant second behind Free Thinker on Saturday night after facing the breeze. He is a horse that can do work in his races and looks hard to beat in this race. 

LITTLE BOLT (4) ran well last start after being forced to work. Has drawn to advantage in this race over his main rival Betting Origin. 

MY ULTIMATE VICTOR (1) has drawn favourably in this race to have options early. Ran second to Diamond Shooz at this track recently who was able to score another win at Albion park Saturday. 

GLENLEDI BOY (5) is a very capable sit sprinter that can finish strongly off the right run. He will appreciate sitting off a strong tempo.

SUGGESTED BET: LITTLE BOLT (4) each way. 

RACE 5

BERTILS FIREFOX (2) has gate speed and will likely to be looking to find the front in the early stages. He has had mixed success when driven off the gate in early stages. 

MACH TORQUE (4) has been racing well without having broken through for a win in recent starts with three second placings in her last three starts. 

SHADYS DELIGHT (9) had no luck last start. Hit the line strongly late once into the clear. 

SUNNY COVE (3) raced well last start when hanging on for second behind Candykane in a fast mile rate for the grade.

SUGGESTED BET: MACH TORQUE (4) to win. 

RACE 6 

A PERFECT DANCE (2) has gate speed and may be looking to lead from the good draw. Looks well suited in this company and can go close. 

BRIAN CHRISTOPHER (6) races well at this trip. Draws a wide gate but is versatile and can be driven a number of different ways. 

ROCK NIEN (7) draws to have options in the early stages being the only horse off the back row. 

ACHROMATIC (1) trialled poorly on return from from a spell well beaten in a moderate trial. She is capable when fully fit and has drawn favourably.

RACE 7

CHARMAWAY (8) scored a big win at this track recently to break her maiden status. She draws the back row in this race but does appear to bring some of the better form into this. 

ABSOLUTELY STOKED (4) took on strongly company last start and battled on reasonably behind Ocean Lane. This restricted win company looks more suitable. 

FINANCIAL BURDEN (3) appeared to return somewhere near his better form last start when powering to the line late. Draws awkwardly in this race but if he is able to repeat his last start effort he would be thereabouts. 

BOSTON BRONSKI (6) raced well on return last start in a reasonable race after covering ground. Draws awkwardly. 

SELECTIONS: CHARMAWAY (8), ABSOLUTELY STOKED (4), FINANCIAL BURDEN (3), BOSTON BRONSKI (6)

SUGGESTED BET: CHARMAWAY (8) to win. 

RACE 8

ROLLONX (9) missed narrowly last start after racing behind the leader. He will be looking to run on strong at the finish in this race. 

LARA BAY (3) will look to race up on speed in this race. She has been consistent and is never too far away. 

ALWAYS BE A TORQUE (8) has been racing extremely consistently. Looks another suitable race to break through for a well deserved win. 

CONVAIR HUSTLER (2) is a gate speed horse. He will be looking to get to the lead in the early stages which may prove difficult drawn alongside a decent beginner. 

SELECTIONS: ROLLONX (9), LARA BAY (3), ALWAYS BE A TORQUE (8), CONVAIR HUSTLER (2)

SUGGESTED BET: LARA BAY (3) to win. 

RACE 9

SISTER JUJON (3) faced the breeze last start outside of Digby Joy and battled on well for second there. She was able to obtain a good run two starts ago when second to Perfectly Quirky. 

ALICE RHAYNE BOW (8) was first up last start and drew awkwardly inside the back row. She obtained a soft run there but failed to run on in the concluding stages just edging past Funtimes to run fourth a horse that’s likely to go around bigger odds in this race. She will likely need to have improved off that run to figure in this. 

THREEOEIGHT (2) has been a significant improver in recent starts. He ran on well into third two starts ago before getting back last start and doing his best work through the line. Would appreciate a solid tempo. 

PADDYS DIAMOND (8) hit the line well enough late last start after racing very wide on the track.
