The final countdown to the highly anticipated 2025 Mort & Co King of the Mountain Carnival is officially underway.

It follows a spectacular launch and slot auction, where the final slot was secured by long-time Toowoomba Turf Club supporter, Harvey Black.

The well-supported slot race, now firmly established as a must-see racing event, once again drew strong interest from owners, trainers, and punters alike.

With all slots now confirmed, the countdown to the prestigious race on the Toowoomba Show Holiday on Friday, March 28, is well and truly on.

Toowoomba Turf Club Chairman Jason Ward expressed his appreciation for the event’s success and those who helped bring it together.

“We are thrilled with the overwhelming support for the 2025 Mort & Co King of the Mountain Carnival," Ward said.

"The competition for slots has been incredible, and we thank all slot holders, sponsors, and stakeholders for their commitment to making this event a standout on the racing calendar.

"Special thanks to Mort & Co for their continued partnership and to everyone who played a role in bringing this exciting race to life.”

As naming rights partner, Mort & Co’s CEO Stephen O’Brien, reaffirmed the company’s enthusiasm for being part of the iconic event.

“The Mort & Co King of the Mountain Carnival aligns perfectly with Mort & Co’s values of excellence and regional pride," O'Brien said.

"We are proud to support a race that not only delivers top tier racing action but also showcases Toowoomba’s strong connection to the racing industry.”

Harvey Black, who secured the final slot, also shared his excitement for the upcoming race.

“We are thrilled to be back in the race - this event is not just about competition; it’s about community spirit, tradition, and supporting the ongoing growth of Toowoomba racing," Black said.

With all slots now filled, excitement is building for the highly anticipated raceday, set to take the stage on the iconic Toowoomba Show Holiday at Clifford Park, where top-class runners will vie for the $750,000 prize pool.

Tickets are on sale now to all the carnival events, including the stud tour, Calcutta and raceday.
