The Mackay Turf Club is one of Queensland’s leading Thoroughbred racing clubs, conducting over 20 mid-week races and eight feature race days throughout the year.
The Mackay Turf Club’s mission is to grow and develop horse racing in North Queensland to an exceptional standard while also providing premium entertainment and event experiences which increases attendance.
The Club operates the Ooralea Race Course, which underwent a $7.4 million upgrade to the track and facilities to position the track as one of Australia’s premier racing facilities. The course is home to a state-of-the-art Event Centre, beautifully refurbished function facilities, a world-class Strathayr race track, premier Jockey and Steward facilities and numerous unrivaled hospitality options.
