THE QUEENSLAND RACING CARNIVAL IS WHERE CHAMPIONS EMERGE
Last year, it was Think About It and Kovalica that shone brightest, and this year the tradition continues.
Staged over 10 action-packed weeks, more than $28 million in prize money will go on the line, including nine million-dollar races and 55 black-type features across 11 race meetings.
The Stradbroke Handicap will again be run for a mammoth $3 million, with the day the crowning jewel of the Carnival.
The $3 million Group 1 sits alongside the Group 1 JJ Atkins and Group 2 Q22 on a day that boasts more than $6.5 million in total prize money.
The Q22 will hold additional allure in 2024, with the Melbourne Racing Club confirming that the race will now hold a golden ticket into the famous $5 million Group 1 Caulfield Cup in October.
In 2023, Think About It took out the time-honoured Stradbroke, before going on to claim the world’s richest turf race, The Everest, in October.
Meanwhile, Q22 champion Without A Fight became the first horse in more than a decade to claim the Caulfield Cup/Melbourne Cup double.
